GM Performance Intake on 2021 6.2
AllTerrain13 replied to AllTerrain13's topic in Modifications, Wheels & Tires
Thanks, I saw the post by "Zane" and it does not mention 2021 MY. My specific question is regarding 2021 and if anyone has installed it. -
Has anyone installed a GM Performance intake on a 2021 6.2? The parts listing 84854457 states Unlike 2020 and earlier versions, these intakes are currently unavailable for installation on vehicles that did not have the performance intake ordered from the factory. They receive the calibration for the intake while on the assembly line and this cannot currently be programmed by a dealer service department. I am curious if turning off the filter minder and disconnecting the battery for 3hrs similar to the S&B would be the ticket?

Funny I was searching to see if they forgot to put something on my 21' since its doing the same thing.

Anyone put a bed rug in a Carbon Pro? I know the Pro bed supposedly doesn’t need protection but I love the plushness of the BedRug. Plus I’m sure it’s a better setup for using the Kicker speaker Those that have done this, did you get the bedliner version or standard?

My fear of doing this is it absolves GM of any responsibility if the symptoms are still present. -

I just got a 2018 SLT All Terrain and it developed the vibration. This is my second truck, (first was repurchased). Dealer has attempted to balance tires two times and it gets worse each time. Now it’s at the dealer and they tell me the front to tires belts are broken. I have already opened a case with GM and formally requested a different brand in tires (Michelin) due to safety concerns. Dealer is telling me they can only install SR-A 275-55R20. Anyone have luck getting a different brand tire installed? On the truck that was repurchased I saw it for sale and had Bridgestones installed and was a CPO with a clean title. -

How do you like it? Would you buy it again? If money was not an object would you also? I really like the retrax pro mx but don’t want to drill holes and My experience with Bak has not been very good. -

Looks nice, do the sides lock or can you just separate the Velcro and get in? -
Shake or Vibration Issues

That's really where I drew the line after countless sets of tires that would be road force balanced to 3lbs and then the next day end up being 40lbs. When GM refused to change brands of tires or hard parts like motor mounts and transmission components I lost faith in them. I had time on my side with my states lemon law but didn't need to go BBB route. GM eventually owned up to the problem and bought me out of it. Again had I not had a great service manager this may have played out differently. Just took delivery of my replacement truck and so far I am very impressed. 2017 Toyota Tundra Limited Crewmax. This thing may not be truck of the year but it has a great V8 and tons of room. -

Well I have been quiet about my truck mainly due to being in the buyback process and not wanting to jeopardize the process. Now that it is complete I can give the Steps that were taken. Truck had 6 sets of tires put on it One new set of wheels New axle shafts New ring and pinion New steering rack bushings New front hubs All of this did not correct the issue, matter of fact the hotter it got outside the more the truck would shake, leading me to think it was transmission related. I will say your first line of defense and advocacy is the service manager or in GM terms the Customer Experience Manager (CEM). He/She will speak on your behalf to the DMA who is the district rep. In my case my CEM was great to deal with and I treated him with the utmost respect. If you encounter a CEM that is not helpful go somewhere else. Do not be demanding and let them run their process. In my case I was in a rental for 52 days. Hopefully this helps with you all who are experiencing this issue. Just remember you can get more bees with honey. -

Shake or Vibration Issues

Update: Dealer drove truck with marked tires and they said it was considerably better in the morning but kind of got worse in the afternoon. I went by and drove the truck yesterday afternoon. Initially the truck had the known tire flat spot vibration and after a few miles this went away and was followed up by the same vibration experienced before but with a earlier onset (63mph) Weird thing is as the truck got hotter the vibration got worse! I would think GM can now rule out tires. I am losing faith in the brand and the customer service provided by GM Corporate. They are slow rolling this thing and it seems out right ignoring my wish for a buyback. They are sending the field service engineer back this Tuesday to look at the truck again. Who knows what will come next. I have owned a lot of GM products over the years and it doesn't appear that they care about brand loyalty anymore. I am still interested to see if any of the US made trucks do this and also if the factory lifted trucks do this. -

My truck has the tires marked to the valve stem. GM keeps blaming tires and movement on the wheel. Last I checked I didn't have a race car with the tires aired down to 10psi [emoji23]. This is really getting old fast. I'm at over 45days straight in a loaner and 58 days cumulative amount down We will see what the outcome is of the next two road tests and then my acceptance road test. -

Update: Truck got its new tires and new rack bushings and the Field Service Engineer says it's much better than before. Of note though he mentioned that last week he had all tires roadforce balanced to under 10 and today after road test and re checking RFB one of the tires was at 40lbs. Either the tires are complete junk or they are moving on the bead Dealer is going to drive the truck the next two days and heat cycle the tires then I will drive it to verify. Apparently the steering bushings are the magic fix -

I have been wondering if the trucks modified by American Luxury Coach vibrate too? If they vibrate then it can rule out driveline angle and control arm issues. They make the Z72-Z92 package trucks
