I have a fuel leaks that are between the tank and the portion of fuel line that first turns up headed past the transmission and into the engine bay. I purchased replacement nylon fuel lines but I hate to wrestle(jacking up the cab etc.) with removing and replacing the lines that run past the transmission and into the engine bay if I do not have to, these lines are in good condition.
What would be the best way to replace the lines between the tank and just past the 90 degree turn where the lines turn up towards the engine bay?
Does anyone have any experience replacing just this portion of the fuel line?
Should I use a compression fitting to go from metal tube to nylon fuel line?
Should I try to flare the metal lines(not sure if there is room) and run fuel injected compatible rubber hose from the steel line to a male to male barbed coupler to connect the rubber hose to the nylon hose?
