  1. Nice setup....real similar to mine. Just curious...are those LT275 65 18 (Load Range E)? Just wondering how you like your setup...ride, wear, etc.
  2. Good to know. You've got a good point there with the setting now that I think about it. I have had most of the trucks on the 1.25" setting, so I'm not nearly seeing difference most likely. At least for the next vehicle, I will have them at the max setting of 1.85" in the front, so should look good....and perform good. It might be a little bit, but I'll post my thoughts when my comparisons are done! Thanks again.
  3. Thanks for the information. I haven't made a decision yet, but honestly I think the Bilstein 5100 series shock is a pavement shock as well. This is coming directly from Bilstein. I'm sure it's a better shock and I've been super happy with the ones I've put on trucks before, but they'll tell you it's meant to be a direct replacement with very similar ride characteristics. I'm guessing it will hold up better long term, but as far as feeling night/day differences when comparing both shocks (new)....I don't think it will happen.
  4. Great additions. It looks great. In my pasy (and on a current truck of mine, 2008 sierra z71 1500) I did the same thing...almost. I put the 5100 series all the way around and have never looked back. I like the shocks and height in the front is great....ride is fine. Although I didn't do the rear block kit . When I did this to the 2008.....it had several miles so the decision of putting all 4 shocks on was easy. So fast forward. On a 2016 I'm going to do the rear block which will give me 1" lift in back and I was going to replace the front shocks almost immediately so I can bring the front end up with the bilstein 5100 ride height adjustables. So, my question is......should I bother with replacing the rear shocks to since I'm going to be installing a firestone air bag system as well? It's just that the rancho shocks are brand frigin new, you know? And I do understand the purpose of the shocks and airbags are different.....I'm just curious if I keep the stock rears since my ride should be improved a bit from the air bag setup anyway. The truck will routinely have a fair bit of payload in it (within the trucks capability) and in the same breath......I want to have a nice stance on it. I know I'm probably starting a debate on stock rancho rear shocks vs rear bilsteins.....but that's ok. Thanks!
  5. What type of exhaust is that? Is it a GM Borla with the 2 individual pipes coming out the side (side entry, same side). Never gave that configuration much thought. It looks really good! though!
  6. quite a few pages of posts......I went through most of them. Any issue with having the 5100's in the front at the highest setting......and leave the rear stock, but with and added helper spring (like Super Springs).
  7. So just wanted to chime in here a bit for my own information. I'm sseriouslyconsidering a 6.2L for my next truck, but had a few questions that were a little unclear on the previous posts. - the HD springs that are referred to...are they the same width or is there just another spring in the pack? I ask because I've noticed on the 3/4 ton pickups the springs are now wider that they were in 2010 or 2011 (not sure when they made the change). I just wonder if my 5.3 Z71 has these HD springs already that are being referred to in the 6.2L versions of the truck. I've always been a bit peaved on the payload capacity....so this interests me. - I would guess to the HD locker is the same in the 6.2L as it is in the 5.3L Z71. - Same question with the 9.5" rear axle (same in 5.3L Z71 and 6.2L?) One easy difference to spot (aside from the motor) it comes with rear disc which my truck (08 5.3L Z71) does not come with. Comments? Thanks!!!
  8. sorry about the 1/2 commment. I had a feeling after I posted that...it was wrong. So this L9H 6.2 L guy is basically what some refer to as a heavy half.....right? This is the motor that that claims it can tow 10,500 lbs? Also, the mileage above.....what gears did you have in back. I ask because I have the 5.3L Z71 3.73 gears and I get 13.5-17.5 mpg. That 17.5 is if all the stars align with pure highway driving and no load. It's hard to achieve. A good overall number for me is 15.5.
  9. What do you guys get for gas mileage with the 6.2 L L9H......and does it have the 3.23 or 3.73 gears? Just curious if I could find that info. I have a 2008 1/2 ton that gets about 16miles/gal (variety of driving)and am considering going up to a 3/4 ton with this 6.2 motor. Curious how much I'm going to impact my mileage.
