Rancho RS9000XL vs Bilstein 5100 I am at 72k and preparing/saving up for shock replacement on all four corners. I like the that the Rancho RS9000XL can be adjusted (claimed 400% difference between lowest and highest setting). I always hear good things about the Bilstein 5100s though. Any experience with the Rancho RS9000XL shocks? I'm confused about a few items on my "new" Tahoe. I had an '02 that was simple, but now I have people telling me all kinds of things about the new technologies on the Tahoe. 1) Every time I get in the truck after parking for even a short time the rear shock air compressor kicks on. Should I be looking for a line leak or is it just because of the angle the truck gets parked at? 2) Does the alternator "cut out", down to about 13 volt's, at highway speed as part of the cylinder deactivation program? I have had the complete charging system checked and everything is working perfect. 3) I was told that if I use my floor jack and pick the back of the truck up by the rear end housing, I my tweak the housing and that there is some kind of a sensor under the cover that I could cause to send a fault code to the computer. I'm and "Old School" kind of mechanic and some of the things on this new stuff makes me nervous about working on it, so any help would be great.
