So I just got a 2018 Silverado 2500 and am wondering if anyone has experienced this in there’s. when I turn my truck off and then open and shut the door to make the radio turn off I can still hear what I can only assume to be the fan in the radio stay on. If I lock the truck it turns the fan off for a second and then it comes back on. If I push the power button on the radio it shuts off but again comes on. Anyone have any thoughts or does this happen in anyone else’s 2014-2019? It didn’t happen in my 2016 that had the same infotainment center that is the reason for my concern.

The head unit will remain black, can't connect to Bluetooth, use the radio, see anything...but when I put it in reverse the back up cam works everytime!! I know if it'll work or not after I close my driver door, of the "splash screen" doesn't show up it will remain black when I turn on my truck and as I said the back up cam will always work. It has progressively gotten worse, used to be very rare that it would stay black but now it's almost 100% of the time and literally 1/100 times it will work. ihave tried removing fuzes and plugging back in, removed the head unit and replaced with an OEM.. that did nothing. Tried unplugging battery and allowing to reset, gotten the latest software updates and still nothing! Hope someone can help it's driving me nuts! I love my truck but this ruins the experience especially on long rides.

I used the PUMPKIN garage to make sure this fit in my truck (06 Silverado). While technically it does, it was not easy and probably not the cleanest install. BUT, I finally got it in. I had to use a funky adapter to wire it up to my GM bose system which was tedious, but worth it. They have a very clear wiring diagram which was a great help. The sound quality isn't the best I've heard, but still very good. The touch screen is instantaneous, and I love that you can download apps to it. The wifi and GPS have worked flawlessly so far. I've used both my home wifi in the driveway and my phone as a mobile hotspot. The video quality isn't as sharp as my phone, but far exceeded my expectations. I've made several Bluetooth calls and asked the person on the other end how it sounded, and they couldn't tell I was on Bluetooth. I ordered the pumpkin backup cam which also works awesome, but the wiring instructions were garbage. There is an automatic connect function, it works. It is quick and easy to do from the head unit, so not that big of a deal. I may just not have figured it out yet. Very happy with my purchase and highly recommend! The unit is Pumpkin 7 inch double din android 9.0 universal car stereo.

Hey all, new here. Selling my racecar and got back into a truck. Just bought a 2015 Sierra 1500. But it has the tiny screen. It appears that if I were to go aftermarket with a new head unit, I would have to remove components and what not. I'd like to keep the stock look and so far, I've found ways that cost a lot of money. Crutchfield has a system for over a grand, it's all aftermarket and really nice, but I can't afford that. So, I was hoping the community might have ideas on adding a DVD drive(my truck does not have a CD player), and the 8 inch touch screen? Essentially just taking the parts from another truck and putting them in mine, maybe? But even that is probably costly. I'm no stranger to electronics and mechanics. So any work I'd need to do myself I'm plenty capable and comfortable. Thanks, Matt

I just bought my first newish truck, being the 2014 Silverado 2wd z71 lt. It’s got the crew cab with 5.3l under the hood. I’m currently stationed at ft Stewart ga. Im just looking for some help or some advice on some upgrades I’d like to do to this truck and which products might be the best. - I’d like to change the headlights and fog lights from stock. - Put a leveling kit and some new (bigger) a/t tires on it and not sure what size being 2wd. - Change to an aftermarket air intake. - Do something about the shitty stock speakers (without Bose). Wether it be new door speakers and sub(s). Or be just subs and have a separate amp just for door speakers. Do I need a processor to hook up to stock 8” head unit. - How do I add any app or navigation to this stock 8” head unit - Exhaust? - How to get more performance from the truck. Anything would help, Thanks

I have a MTX Thunderform Sub Box with 10" Kicker Sub I had installed in my 09 Sierra Extended Cab for a few months until my truck got written off from hail damage. My understanding is it will fit any extended cab silverado/sierra from 2007-2013, please double check fitment (http://www.supercrewsound.com/C15EX07FB10-TN.html). If you're looking for a sleek, OEM-looking install with crisp responsive bass, look no further! This sub was and is amazing, I hate to get rid of it but I ended up getting a small car instead of replacing the truck. Box alone retails for $350 not including $100+ for the Kicker CompVR (07CVR104) 10-Inch 4-Ohm DVC 400RMS subwoofer. The sub is wired for a 2-OHM amp but can be wired to work with nearly any impedance. Looking for $325 Shipped, best offer. Please text or call 218-four-1-six-2-four-9-one as I do not have access to check this forum often. Thanks for looking!
