  1. Dear All, I've changed the original belt driven radiator cooling fan in my GMC Sierra 2004 to an electrical driven type and want to know what is the best alternator to install to overcome the amp loss without adding/modifying alt. bracket/holder or wiring connections please? Regards,
  2. Has anyone experienced a similar issue? I have a 2019 Silverado trail boss and when you turn the fan on, whether it’s ac or heater, there is a noise that is not normal. It comes from the passenger side inside the dash area. It’s not a loud noise and if the stereo is on you won’t hear it. It sounds like the fan motor is off. I wouldn’t bother taking it in if all trucks made the noise but they don’t. I had the dealership take me in another trail boss and there was no sound, just normal wind sound. They changed a bearing saying that was the issue but it is still making the same noise.
  3. 2015 chevy 1500.. 3400 miles. A couple of times the heat didn't work. It always did "next time".. the other day I had to take a 3 hour drive.. it didn't work the whole way there...stopped for an hour..headed back still with no heat (it was 42* so it was not pleasant) Took to dealer - they said they cant find anything wrong, of course, and of course the he was working fine. Its only done this a couple of times in the past 2 months now. Anyone experienced anything similar? It blows out air, and it will adjust the fan speed properly (or what I'm guessing WOULD be properly if it was bl
  4. I have a 2017 Denali and have had since new. I noticed that lately the HVAC blower fan cycles on and off while the truck is turned off, just after driving it. Does anyone know why this is happening. I've noticed that the amp meter is charging more and not dropping down like it used to when the truck is new. I was wondering if the battery is circling the drain and not providing enough amperage. I also noted that after the truck was parked for a couple of weeks, the compass settings on the Navi changed. Thanks in advance for the help.
  5. OK HERE WE GOOOO!!! I have a 2013 GMC Sierra Nevada 4.8. I live in Manitoba Canada where for 10 months out of the year it is below freezing! Last week we had a warm day so while my wife was shopping I decided to turn on the AC while I was waiting for her, I got the 3 flash light and it went off, I thought it was because it was to cool still. Than I noticed me temp gauge start to rise. I have owned this truck since it was new and pull a small 5th wheel around with it I have never seen the temp gauge move before. So I sat there waiting to here the fan kick on... It never did, slowly the
  6. Hello, my name is Kyle. I am new to GM-Trucks.com and am just starting to really get into do it yourself projects. I will be taking my 1987 GMC S15 pickup down to florida next week for the Daytona 500 from New Jersey. But first I need to replace the belt tensioner. I understand the part of taking it off and putting the new one on but in videos I keep watching them keep mentioning something about the torque when I tighten the new tensioner. When tightening it I don't just tighten it with a socket? I need a torque wrench? Any help or tips you guys or girls can provide me with for thi
  7. So today when I was leaving work I noticed that my fan on my heater was extremely loud.....I know normally it is loud when on full blast but this sounded like I had a generator running...It felt like the whole truck was shaking...It only did it on the highest fan setting and one down from the highest...and also did it in both heat and air....It did it through the entire drive home....There was a crap load of snow here today in Ontario...It has since stopped once I tried again after I shovelled my driveway.... Any thoughts on what it may have been? Cheers
  8. Hi All I have a 2007 GMC Sierra new body style and when I have the heater on it might blow on my feet like I have it set to do but then out of the blue it will change to the body vents and the fan speed will also change on its own. Any idea why this might happen and how to fix it? Thanks
  9. I have a 2008 NBS crewcab 5.3 4x4 with digital dual climate control. I recently started having trouble with my ac not working right. Didn't think much of it at first as it was almost like a voltage type issue with the fan blower slowing slightly on occasion under different engine loads. Started getting worse, with a lot of sporadic panting, and now very seldom works correctly, sometimes even not at all. Does not matter if its on auto or manual. Seems like right when you start the truck it works strong and correctly for about 3-4 minutes, then it goes to panting and quits. If I turn it
