  1. Other than my thermostat being stuck open.. Causes?
  2. Has anyone experienced a similar issue? I have a 2019 Silverado trail boss and when you turn the fan on, whether it’s ac or heater, there is a noise that is not normal. It comes from the passenger side inside the dash area. It’s not a loud noise and if the stereo is on you won’t hear it. It sounds like the fan motor is off. I wouldn’t bother taking it in if all trucks made the noise but they don’t. I had the dealership take me in another trail boss and there was no sound, just normal wind sound. They changed a bearing saying that was the issue but it is still making the same noise. The second time I brought it in they said they are reporting it to GM. I brought it in today and the service desk worker said it’s “normal”. I asked why the others don’t make the noise and he said it’s “normal”. Obviously not normal or they would all make the same sound. Anyone know what it is??
  3. My truck came with a block heater. It was -20 last night here in Ottawa and no more than -15 today so I thought I would plug in the block heater and see how it worked. I plugged in the heater cord that came with the truck and checked the voltage =120 v. Was curious about how much draw there is but my amp probe showed zero amps when plugged in. It appears there is no load Just wondering if anyone else experienced this and if there is something I need to do under the hood to connect the heater .
  4. My 2016 Sierra 2500HD has 176,000 miles on it already and recently started eating parts. The latest part to fail was the reductant tank heater (DEF Heater). Upon cold start the check engine light came on with code P21DD. After a little reading I learned that this can result in “Limp Mode”. I was in the middle of nowhere in Northern Wyoming. Not cool! I drove down to Denver and replaced it that week. I shot this video of the repair.....
  5. 2015 chevy 1500.. 3400 miles. A couple of times the heat didn't work. It always did "next time".. the other day I had to take a 3 hour drive.. it didn't work the whole way there...stopped for an hour..headed back still with no heat (it was 42* so it was not pleasant) Took to dealer - they said they cant find anything wrong, of course, and of course the he was working fine. Its only done this a couple of times in the past 2 months now. Anyone experienced anything similar? It blows out air, and it will adjust the fan speed properly (or what I'm guessing WOULD be properly if it was blowing out heat) based on the temp of the cab. Even when taken off of auto and just turned temp to hi and fan speed up, with AC button off, it was still blowing cold air. Any ideas? Could it somehow be user error? (doubtful) Also when the AC button is on, even when its on heat, is the AC really still running? seems dumb that lights always on even when you have the temp high and its blowing heat.
  6. Looking for some info on my 2004 Chevy truck. I got a clicking noise in my dash and yesterday my heater stopped blowing hot air no both sides. I found the actuator below the ash tray and removed it and opened the door but still nothing but cold air...Any suggestions ?
  7. 2004 GMC Sierra Denali Auto Climate Control Module not adjusting temperature correctly. When you try to adjust temperature up the display will adjust up and down.
  8. Alright Gents, I'm new to the forum. My truck is a 2012 Silverado LTZ Z71 and it has the dual climate control and auto climate button. Heres the problem: About two weeks ago my air quit working out of no where, it would not work at all! Okay, so I replaced the blower motor and resistor and harness, still no air. So, then I replaced the in dash climate control module. The air will work, however it works when it wants to. I can cut the truck on, cut the power on and it wont work, but I'll be d****d if the air works after I've been sweating for a good hour while driving around in this Alabama heat and try turning it on at random! Sometimes, I can take out the fuse to the module and leave it out for a few minutes and out it back in and it work for a few hours with me cutting it on and off as I enter and exit the truck. I finally said to h*** with it and took it to a shop this morning, they called and said that it was the climate control module, that I just replaced mind you, and that they are waiting for a call back from the dealer because the module is a dealer part. I just now got to thinking about something...is there a specific procedure that you're supposed to follow after replacing the climate control module?? Am I missing something??? For the record the resistor did need replacing and I went ahead and replaced the blower motor as well since the old one was starting to lose it's umph and not push air like it used to. So, again...am I missing something here? I've looked and looked, and I'm not the only one with this problem, however no one has the exact problem. I'm really at my wits end guys! I work outside, so yeah I'm pissed right now because I cant escape this dang heat.
  9. Hey Guys, I didn't do a full write up, but wanted to compile all the links I used in one place to maybe help others. My driver side seat heater went out last year or so, and my bottom foam was absolutely shot. Even had a lean toward the door, wife and I both noticed it causing us pain on the way to Florida, so I finally stopped putting it off. Decided if I was going to do the seat heater, I was going to do the TSBs on the under side as well as the foam itself. I went back and forth on doing the OEM foam, but finally settled on attempting to upgrade it. Went with The Seat Shop option on Amazon. Very quality piece, fit like OEM, has the same connections for the tubes on the leather cover and the velcro on the bottom side leather attaches to in 2 spots. The stiffness is noticeable feeling them side by side. I feel this one will hold up better, but time will tell. Ill circle back in a year or so and report back. Parts: The Seat Shop Durofoam I bought, part number may vary slightly check for your application. Heated vs Cooled etc. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B078NG3V47/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I bought my seat heater from the local dealer. After looking around and adding shipping the difference was negligible. I ended up with part number GM 23168136. Yours may vary depending on year, model, heated, cooled, etc. TSB parts ACDelco 10-4057 Synthetic Multi-Purpose Glycol Lubricant GM 13594989 Shim Clip GM 13405675 RETAINER-F/SEAT CUSH LATL ADJR Process: Links I used to aid in tear down and replacement below. I dont think any of these were perfect vids/write ups, but if you watch/read them all there is some great info in each. Troubleshooting the heater before you go down this road. https://youtu.be/6hDrsJakOTY Steps to remove seat and replace heater. Good tips in the text below video I agreed with as well. https://youtu.be/Xgkvn2qYSM8 Decent video showing some more context on the side seat trim. Adds some steps on the manual tilt handle as well if you have that. https://youtu.be/oDvmyX9ZlP8 Another video on removing both front seats. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v0u-pYdIZsg The text walk through here is fantastic, pretty step for step. Pictures were a little lacking, but combo it with the above videos and you will be well armed for this. Credit to user here: Jullian is not my name. https://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/topic/209411-how-to-replace-heated-seat-element-pads/ Walk through of the TSB for the seat movement fix, I dont know that I had much issue here but for a few dollars I did it while it was out. Cant hurt. Some good cut aways and pictures to help you in general as well. Part numbers and at the bottom of this link. https://gm.oemdtc.com/600/pi1376-front-seat-lateral-movement-andor-click-type-noise-while-driving-2015-cadillac-chevrolet-gmc PDF version: https://static.oemdtc.com/TSB/SB-10072596-0335.pdf Thanks, Josh
  10. My father-in-law has a 2000 S10 that the heater doesn't blow hot air in defrost, in floor mode or combo. It only barely blows warm air in upper body mode. The engine is running normal temperature. Is it a blend door actuator problem? Or a different actuator problem?
