  1. Has anyone experienced a similar issue? I have a 2019 Silverado trail boss and when you turn the fan on, whether it’s ac or heater, there is a noise that is not normal. It comes from the passenger side inside the dash area. It’s not a loud noise and if the stereo is on you won’t hear it. It sounds like the fan motor is off. I wouldn’t bother taking it in if all trucks made the noise but they don’t. I had the dealership take me in another trail boss and there was no sound, just normal wind sound. They changed a bearing saying that was the issue but it is still making the same noise.
  2. My truck came with a block heater. It was -20 last night here in Ottawa and no more than -15 today so I thought I would plug in the block heater and see how it worked. I plugged in the heater cord that came with the truck and checked the voltage =120 v. Was curious about how much draw there is but my amp probe showed zero amps when plugged in. It appears there is no load Just wondering if anyone else experienced this and if there is something I need to do under the hood to connect the heater .
  3. 2015 chevy 1500.. 3400 miles. A couple of times the heat didn't work. It always did "next time".. the other day I had to take a 3 hour drive.. it didn't work the whole way there...stopped for an hour..headed back still with no heat (it was 42* so it was not pleasant) Took to dealer - they said they cant find anything wrong, of course, and of course the he was working fine. Its only done this a couple of times in the past 2 months now. Anyone experienced anything similar?   4. Looking for some info on my 2004 Chevy truck. I got a clicking noise in my dash and yesterday my heater stopped blowing hot air no both sides. I found the actuator below the ash tray and removed it and opened the door but still nothing but cold air...Any suggestions ?
  5. My 2016 Sierra 2500HD has 176,000 miles on it already and recently started eating parts. The latest part to fail was the reductant tank heater (DEF Heater). Upon cold start the check engine light came on with code P21DD. After a little reading I learned that this can result in “Limp Mode”. I was in the middle of nowhere in Northern Wyoming. Not cool! I drove down to Denver and replaced it that week. I shot this video of the repair.....

  7. Alright Gents, I'm new to the forum. My truck is a 2012 Silverado LTZ Z71 and it has the dual climate control and auto climate button. Heres the problem: About two weeks ago my air quit working out of no where, it would not work at all! Okay, so I replaced the blower motor and resistor and harness, still no air. So, then I replaced the in dash climate control module. The air will work, however it works when it wants to.   8. Hey Guys, I didn't do a full write up, but wanted to compile all the links I used in one place to maybe help others. My driver side seat heater went out last year or so, and my bottom foam was absolutely shot. Even had a lean toward the door, wife and I both noticed it causing us pain on the way to Florida, so I finally stopped putting it off. Decided if I was going to do the seat heater, I was going to do the TSBs on the under side as well as the foam itself.   9. My father-in-law has a 2000 S10 that the heater doesn't blow hot air in defrost, in floor mode or combo. It only barely blows warm air in upper body mode. The engine is running normal temperature. Is it a blend door actuator problem? Or a different actuator problem?

  11. Hi there, I have been having an issue with the HVAC in my 2002 GMC Sierra 2500HD duramax w/ auto climate control. The blower would intermittently stop working from time and time, and sometimes would work fine for days. However just recently it stopped working altogether, right during a cold snap of course! After researching all over the net, I learned the most common problem was the blower motor resistor (or in my case the HVAC control module). So I replaced it hoping for a quick fix. But still didn't work. Ive tried disconnecting the battery and resetting the system, ive checked

  13. My water pump went out last summer which irreparably damaged my heater core in my '07 GMC Sierra Crew cab 1500. The shop that replaced the water pump just bypassed the heater core. They gave an estimate of $1100/labor to replace it. Being that I live in Alabama, I don't need a heater THAT bad, but it does get pretty miserable some mornings. How hard would it be for me to do the job. I am no mechanic by any means, but am pretty good with tools. I already do a majority of the work on my vehicles myself, I've just never tackled this exactly.
  14. So here I am waiting for the dealership to decide whether to change my heater core because of anti freeze smell in truck..... now I am having issues with my heater motor. When I turn it right up it makes a really loud noise and you can feel the vibration in the truck from it. Its not a high pitched noise,,,,, and hard to describe..... kind of a loud hum and unbareable. Then when you go to turn the heater motor to off it takes awhile for it to slow down and shut off. I had the problem that a lot of people have had with their blower motor resistor. basically, all of a sudden, your heater blower stays on ALL THE TIME, and you have to pull the fuse and replace the Blower Motor Resistor. So, I went to change it out, and i found out that since i have the HD model, there is AUTO temp control, so i had to buy the $90 one. Ok, so i did that, and replaced it. Well, now the blower motor doesnt stay on all the time, so that's good. The problem now is there is no vent control, and no air coming out of ANYWHERE.   16. So I have developed an issue this winter where mice have decided my truck was a good spot for hiding dog food (not sure how a mouse can haul a large breed junk of dog food but whatever). Anyway, I took my air box apart to find about 5# of dog food hidden under the filter!! What?!!! Funny thing is this happened with my old truck as well! Strange! So today when I was leaving work I noticed that my fan on my heater was extremely loud.....I know normally it is loud when on full blast but this sounded like I had a generator running...It felt like the whole truck was shaking...It only did it on the highest fan setting and one down from the highest...and also did it in both heat and air....It did it through the entire drive home....There was a crap load of snow here today in Ontario...It has since stopped once I tried again after I shovelled my driveway....   18. Hi All I have a 2007 GMC Sierra new body style and when I have the heater on it might blow on my feet like I have it set to do but then out of the blue it will change to the body vents and the fan speed will also change on its own. Any idea why this might happen and how to fix it? Thanks

Vehicle: 2005 Silverado crew cab LT with dual zone HVAC Issue: It was cold this morning, so ran the heater for a while then, when it warmed up, turned both driver and passenger knobs from "90" to "60" degrees and switched air flow from floor to dash vents. But the air stayed hot and didn't change to the ambient temp like they should have. Made the stops I needed and, even after turning off and re-starting the truck a few times as I made my stops, hot air continued to come out of the dash vents.
