  1. I sold it about 9 years ago. I kept the badass roll bar though.
  2. Got the call today after the 6.2 in my 2010 Yukon Denali was completely torn down. Collapsed lifter which ruined the rocker and the push rod. Unreal! Luckily I am not flipping the bill since I just bought it. I am paying $300 parts only to replace the remaining lifters with new ones so avoid this disaster in the future. Everything else checks out fine and pressure was checked. Oil pump is fine too. This could have been a major disaster down the road. GM so far has done nothing to fix this. $65,000 SUV...how do they expect me to buy a brand new one after this! The Ford dealer I bought it from is paying for GMs mistake just to make things right with me. Maybe I need to switch?!
  3. I am just surprised NOT one person from GM can tell me which lifters are typically the problem, or if its any lifter at any given time. I need to decide on replacing all of the ones that aren't bad while the engine is apart. If the new ones go bad; then screw it; what's the point? They said the part numbers are different but WHAT CAUSED THIS ISSUE IN THE FIRST PLACE???!!! Replacing broken parts doesn't fix the issue if the lifter the victim of something else being wrong. Should they check the oil pump too? Or are the new lifters improved???! I can't get an fricking answer from anyone. Its like a conspiracy
  4. Yeah I'm on the fence over this. They found 3 bulletins on this issue. Tearing down the engine to do this is nuts on a $60,000 SUV new. Granted I didn't buy it new but I'm still surprised to see such a "reliable" engine have this issue. And it's very common. Surprised GM is still selling trucks with these engines. Wait; now they are EcoTechs! Vortec is dead so now everything must be all better.
  5. Need advice : my 2010 Yukon has the 6.2 and it has sticky lifters. Is this issue typically specific lifters or any of them could go bad? Got the dealer to flip the bill to go in and fix the bad ones but they offered to put in new lifters at cost of parts for the ones that are not bad as preventative maintenance. They said the parts numbers are different so I hope it's an improved and fixed replacement. Just not sure if I should bite on $4-500 out of my pocket for finishing off the lifters the aren't sticking. Thanks for any help.
  6. I bought a 2010 Denali Yukon with 6.2 and this morning I heard a tapping or knocking noise on cold start...didn't hear it till today and I just bought it used on saturday! Is this typical? Wife took it down the road and I could hear it as she passed and it has been running a few minutes by then. I put regular fuel; it is a flex fuel engine. 59,000 miles. Not sure if it stopped later or not. My 2006 with L33 aluminum block taps/knocks as well but this was a little different. The 6.0 in my 05 2500 work truck makes no noise at all! What might it be? Thank you.
  7. I'm having this problem right now but my 06 Sierra is now 6 years old with almost 70,000 miles. I have not tried to call since I will probably get the same answer you got. I was warned that this would happen to my eventually by my old boss who had 2 K1500s and 03 and 04 and they both did that. Unfortunately it gets worse as it corrodes I guess but that 04 I drove would drift several feet into the intersection when stopping! I got used to it but its stupid they will not fix it since they still have this problem.
  8. Very nice! I have seen your truck on cardomain. looks great
  9. 8" lift total (6 suspension, 2 body), 400 small block chevy out of a 72 so I could run reg87 with not problem since it was my daily driver. Did a lot of work mechanically to it so its a part of me I dont want to let go! I love this truck. Makes me feel so d**n good to drive it. The comments are priceless no matter how much I spent to get it legal!

    1984 GMC 1500 4x4

This is my lifted '84. Small block 400 with a cam and oversized valves, 6" suspension, 2"body lift, TH350, 3.73s with posi, Edelbrock 750 CFM Performer 4bbl., 39" Mickey Thompson tires (I have them still but am running 35" Hankook RT 03 M/Ts since I used my '84 until recently to travel to college and back and from Pittsburgh to Erie). I can get 9.5mpg at 65-70mph on the highway after my valve job and new head gaskets. I don't want to talk about around town mileage since I like to hear it make noise! I love this truck and hope I never have to get rid of it. The looks and compliments are worth all the hard work!
