  1. Of Course It's Damp Underfoot! That strikes me as a very petty complaint to make at a time like this!

  4. Thanks - I misunderstood the post above (from thefishhawk) and thought he was talking about two different things. Duh
  5. The original question was looking for a cover for the fob. What's the remote?
  6. Sort of like looking for a container to store an acid that eats through everything.
  7. Actually I think we're all being had! I don't believe this could happen during normal use.
  8. Damn Scott, I hope you didn't look that bad at 20 years old!
  9. You got two fobs didn't you? What does the other one look like?

    Tailgate

    From the album: Bill's Silverado

Personally I didn't like the very large gold bowtie on my tailgate. I toyed with the idea of painting it black, but it's such a large emblem, I thought it would look better completely gone. Since it was cold outside when I did this, I used a standard household hair blow dryer and warmed up the emblem (and the adhesive behind it). I took some fishing twine (but I think dental floss works better) and placed it behind the bowtie and "sawed" through the adhesive. Once I got most of the emblem sawed through, it popped off pretty easily. Most of the adhesive came off with the bowtie--maybe I got lucky, but I just used my fingertip and pushed it around so I could pull it off. I used mineral spirits and lightly rubbed the stubborn remnants of the adhesive and it came off easily. A quick light waxing of the area, and there's not a trace. I'm not sure how much or how quickly paint fades, so I did this as soon as the weather cooperated.

  12. Don't know if that TSB also covered Silverados with this issue, but nothing like that here. And it doesn't sound normal at all. Did you get any information on the TSB?
  13. I completely missed the educational component of this feature! Way to go GM!
  14. Just for my own curiosity....are you trying to get it to play videos for kids riding in the back seat? Otherwise, I can't imagine why a person would even bother trying. Maybe it's just one of those, "it says I can do it, so I'm going to check it out" and I can understand that, but when would you ever sit in your truck and watch a movie? Waiting for the spouse in the shopping center parking lot? Stuck on a ferry? Double-booked in the living room? Personally I sometimes enjoy quiet, relaxing moments without any distractions. It's when I get some of my most dangerous thinking done!

Steve Gleason played for the New Orleans Saints from 2000 - 2008, and will always be remembered for his blocked punt on the night the New Orleans Superdome reopened for the first time after Hurricane Katrina. He was diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) - commonly referred to as Lou Gehrig's Disease. Through Team Gleason, the organization that Steve, his family, and friends started, he is determined to generate public awareness for ALS, raise funding to empower those with ALS to live a rewarding life, and ultimately find a cure. Steve is determined to inspire others by continuing to pursue life adventures despite his diagnosis, and has challenged the worlds of technology and science to identify their most promising developments toward new treatments and a cure. Please check out www.teamgleason.org for more information and hopefully to get inspired to help this remarkable man.

I masked off the outer edge of the chrome bowtie and covered the hood, grill, bumper area. Temperature was about 60 deg F, I used four very light coats of Plastidip spray about 30 minutes apart. I carefully removed all masking, then carefully peeled the overspray off the chrome bowtie outline, leaving just the red inner bowtie. Used an exacto knife to score any areas that may not have separated easily. Overall it was very easy to do for less than $12 can of spray. Plastidip seems to be available in a variety of colors, and luckily the red matched the Chevrolet Victory Red paint perfectly. If it hadn't, I would have sprayed it black. There are several You Tube videos that do a great job guiding you through the process. I probably wouldn't have tried it if I hadn't watched one and seen how easy it was to do. The good thing about Plastidip is if you're not happy with the way it turns out, you can peel it off after it dries.
  17. Seems to me you couldn't expect much better. The combination of only a 1.5 mile one-way commute, winter fuel, majority city....it seems you couldn't get much better no matter what you were driving. And I don't know if you're starting it up and letting it warm up every morning, but it seems that would also contribute to lower-than-expected mileage. I wouldn't be disappointed.
  18. My dealer here in Oregon had several V6s. In fact their showroom Silverado was a V6.
  19. Doesn't seem to bother me much, but I wonder if anyone's tried this Range product: http://www.rangetechnology.com/products/range-v8
