Glad I came upon this thread tonight, I just left the dealership up here after being offered a great deal. I was about to sign all the paperwork and hand them the keys to my 06 F150 (that still drives great) but I had that knot in my stomach so I said I needed the night to think it over. Long story short, googling 14 sierra problems brought me straight here I probably won't be going back after reading this, especially knowing GM doesn't have a clue. It mystifies me that this issue can stump designers, engineers and technicians on a $40,000 truck. The one thing that sucks is that the '14 sierra sle 4x4 I'm about to get blows the '14 f150 and ram out of the water as far as looks and the cabin go. This seems like a truck that will take me to the year 2020 and I won't regret a moment. The 14 F150 however is no better looking inside or out than my 06. I want to love this Sierra but I'm not sure If I can live with the nagging feeling that something major will go wrong after 1k. Maybe they will put my almost new Firestone Destination AT's on the new one and put the Sierras tires on my trade, they are the same size. Hopefully that is the problem but it doesn't sound like it. Probably backing out completely and waiting till this summer for the 15 F150. Kinda bummed. (but also glad i know)
