  1. It sure feels like it did. And as an added bonus I believe it's getting a little better gas mileage. Tapatalk via iPhone 5s
  2. I installed an Airaid CAI yesterday. Pretty simple and clean installation. I took it for a drive and my "butt dyno" tells me it made a difference. Seems a lot more responsive and noise it make when you stand on it is really impressive. With the 2 in/2 out Flowmaster dual exhaust and the roar of CAI it sounds and feels like I'm driving a NASCAR truck . Couldn't be happier.
  3. Installed an Airaid CAI yesterday. According to my "butt dyno" it made a BIG difference!
  4. No tips. I had them put on my '07 as an after thought and wasn't really that high on them. After a wash I get my Purple Slice out, slide under the truck and do the part of the tailpipes that can been seen so they alway look brand new anyway. These pics are of the '07 after 6½ years.
  5. Let me clarify the drone effect. The muffler drone is there but not overpowering. It's way quieter than my '07 was. I had the same 50 series Flowmaster on that truck but it was single in/dual out. Maybe the dual in/dual out makes it less noticeable. I removed the 3rd cat so I have a separate pipe coming from each cat on each header. Just a thought. Tapatalk via iPhone 5s
  6. [quote name='dredd' timestamp='1391637797' post=' Really like the turn down behind the rear tires. Any drone? Your exhaust guy did it custom? How much? Can you take a pic of your drop shackles? Really like your mods Dredd, Thanks!!! As for the drone, read my earlier reply. Yes he totally hand-built the complete system and custom-bent each piece of pipe. The total cost was $410 (muffler and pipe stock). I've used him before and he's always done a great job. Concerning the shackles they look just like the stock ones only longer. I'll post pics when it warms up. Tapatalk via iPhone 5s
  7. The "drone", as everybody calls it, has never bothered me on any of my trucks. I expect it and, honestly, kind of like it. I figure if you're gonna put a nice performance muffler on your vehicle it's just something that's gonna be there. I just don't have a problem with it. I guess what I'm trying to say is that you'll have to ask somebody that considers it annoying . Tapatalk via iPhone 5s
  8. Another day, another couple of mods...just picked the truck up from the shop: true dual exhaust with 2 in-2-out Flowmaster 50 series and McGaughy's 2" lowering shackles to level it. My exhaust guy is "multi-talented" he did the exhaust AND lowering!! Excuse the crud on the truck...it snowed and sleeted yesterday and it's 18° today!
  9. Color-matched tailgate bowtie.
  10. I wasn't implying that I was "qualified to comment" on anything. I just want to disable those stupid DLRs. I didn't ask for comments on how evil I am for wanting to. Tapatalk via iPhone 5s
  11. I was a firefighter for 30 years and I saw plenty of "people dying in front of me and stranger's brains". I can't think of ONE INSTANCE where daytime running lights would have made a difference!! Tapatalk via iPhone 5s
  12. Thanks!! I feel better doing it now that I know I have a "go-to guy" in case I have trouble. Thanks again!!!
  13. After reading the posts made by TJay74 and CorvetteOJ I ordered an Airaid CAI system for my 6.2L Silverado. I hope my installation goes as smooth as theirs did. I guess we'll see. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  14. I think you'll be happy with it. I've had one on my last two trucks and all have worked perfectly. Glad I could help you out. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  15. You can get it HERE with pretty quick shipping too!
  16. I put on a "stubby" antenna from Cravin Speed and the radio works great...just like it did with the stock mast antenna! I also installed my color matched grille bowtie. I ordered a billet one and had it powder coated to keep down the rock chips. The painted ones just chip too easy.
  17. Thanks!! I'm gonna try it the next time I'm at the dealer. I'll post when/if I make any headway.
  18. Already did that...no luck.
  19. I don't live in Canada and don't believe my safety has anything to do with my initial question. Thanks for the info though.
  20. I disabled the DTRs on my '07 Silverado by pulling the fuse from the block under the hood. I've looked on my 2014 and can't find anything that relates to them or even mentions them in fuse block diagrams in the owners manual. Does anybody have a clue which fuse it is or even if there is one that controls only those lights? I'd appreciate any input.
  21. This 6.2L is getting better gas mileage than my 2007 5.3!!!!! All this with less than 100 miles on the clock and 3.42 gears! By the time this thing gets broke in I'll have to leave my gas cap off 'cause it'll be MAKIN' GAS. (This ALL stop & go, in-town driving).
  22. LOOKING GOOOOOD️️️ Sent from my iPhone5s using Tapatalk
  23. I'm glad I waited for the 6.2L after reading your post. My '07 5.3 got the same mpg. I wasn't sure what the "real" mileage would be but was pretty sure the posted mpg ratings were bogus. I can live with what you're getting. Sent from my iPhone5s using Tapatalk
