So to be warranty-denial-proof, should the 3rd cat stay as is? I'm not sure just how much more freely flowing the exhaust will be without it. If it's 2%,5%,15%, I'd probably just leave it on.
Can anyone definitively say whether cutting out the 3rd cat will void the warranty? Are the gains in flow enough to justify the "risk" of taking it out?
Still trying to decide between the Magnaflow 18 or the FlowMaster 70 series.
Yes, I was referring to the Cat before the muffler, I described it in reverse.
Did you remove everything from (including) the third cat on and replace it with the muffler and tailpipes?
Looking to do this with as little drone as possible.
Thanks
mzodarg,
I read all your posts and I want to the same thing, MagnaFlow 18" one in / two out for the 5.3. I read that you removed the flapper valve and the resonator. Did they also remove the 3rd Cat way in the back? Was that put back on? Your sound is perfect!
Holy crap! They shot up to $377.99! I paid $269.65 one week ago. My buddy runs a big very popular truck accessory store down here and the best he could do on the same part number was high $300's.
