  1. Totally agree with your statements. I still have one of the orginal 18v black batteries that just won't die. I have six of the 4ah becuase the wife bought herself the weedwhacker and blower. She is all excited because her new to her 4runner has 120v plug receps so she can charge batts do yardwork at our off the grid cabin.
  2. One of many from our trip to Canada last September.
  3. Seeing as how the wife is the one taking more photos that myself, she wanted a better point and shoot. Nikon B500 fit the bill and she loves it and was in her price range of what she wanted to pay.
  4. Wow! And I thought I was off grid..
  5. Okay you wrench jockies with all of these high miles, what should I have in my tool box? Have most everything + other than a code reader...? Serious, do all my own work and a bone stock type of guy. That is about the only thing I don't have.
  6. Finally got around to figuring out the mileage from a road trip (1138 miles) we just got back from. It was a treat not to be towing our tt this time. Went up through Montana, over to Washington, back down to Idaho. Fueled up five times differing driving condtions, most on two lane with 65-75 limits and alot of mountain passes with 25mph corners. We had a 14.8,14.37,12.3, 14.85 and 14.2 for mileage while keeping my eye on the tach. Looking back, the 12.3 mileage was a day that we were mostly in-town driving. Need to quit racking up the miles on our '05/6.0 though because we are up to 84,619....
  7. Did some heavy towing, NOT! 48" of snow on the level and glad the road, parking lot and trail was groomed.
  8. At the GC during our trip.
  9. Our 2005HD at Valley of Fire in Nevada during our trip South.

    Decal

    Nice decal on dirty truck.
  11. Bone stock 2005 HD with factory size tires. First trip towing this past Sunday. Short stint on freeway, then to state highways and gravel roads. Didn't really push it hard top speed was 60ish, most time 50 or so. I had the 580# ATV in the bed and our 19ft bumper pull travel trailer on the back. I ran it in tow-mode going, but not coming back as I wanted to see the difference.in shifting pattern. Filled up and came out to 9mpg on the nut? Kind of related but not- Coming back into town the fuel gauge light came on, Oh crap!. Hit the closest Chevron and was able to get 22.6 gal in without overfilling. So, does that tell me that once the light comes on I have 3 or so, gallons remaining?
  12. Any update on this? It you buy it complete or buy just the lower, you will have to have either shipped to an FFL. If I were to do it over again, I would buy a stripped lower and put a good trigger group in it FIRST. They pick up the other stuff as you can afford it.
  13. Any reason you don't want to just buy the parts (lower, upper, etc) and build it yourself so you know it from the inside out? Email today from them and blem lowers at $49.95. What is the twist on the one you are thinking of buying? Carbine or rifle?
  14. Posted my 93 Kaw KLF earlier (when it was clean). Did 92 miles over last weekend. Was a dust bowl in the mountains.

  16. Having gone through a purchase (cash), the only thing I can recommend to everybody is that once you settle on a price make sure that you read EVERY LINE under the price you have negotiated before you sign anything. The salesperson might make 5-7% on the sale, but the F&I folks make bank with the add on stuff. A big one is vehicle theft registration ($200-300; too involved to explain so do a search about it). Next up is extended warranty, so if the extended is $3500, you can bet that somebody is getting almost 50% of that (buy your own). Have been on both ends of auto sales........ Please be careful out there because the payment may sound good although you are paying for something you did not purchase.
