  1. is your condenser body black or silver?
  2. mines new too just not sure if it's the old design or new one. then the "patch" is a whole other level of confusion
  3. does anyone have a good picture of the re-designed condenser? did those who have got the fix have a (about) 4 inch by 4 inch reflective patch in the top right corner of the condenser?
  4. Anyone try this? Successfully? I have an appointment to get mine fixed on Monday, but I'd give this a shot and save myself $700 if it works.
  5. tap the top connection with a screwdriver and a hammer. just be gentle lol tap the top connection with a screwdriver and a hammer. just be gentle lol
  6. Mods if you could pin this it would be excellent. I got bit by the condenser bug and after seeing some people get significant relief from GM I tried as well. The best they could do for me was $700. Its quite obvious this is a major issue and GM is not stepping up to the plate to fix it. Their willingness to help some out partially or wholly is evidence that they know they are in the wrong. I am currently waiting on a backordered part and in the mean time I am pursuing other options. I am part of building the suit here https://chimicles.com/chevrolet-silverado-air-conditioning-defect-potential-class-action/ and i recommend anyone with an issue here joins as well. The more heads we can get involved the better. Those of you that have had the repair done, if you could post up pictures of your invoices it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
  7. UPDATE 2: $700 final price to me is the best they can do. Looks like it better than most people are getting but im not exactly happy with it. Getting it done in hopes that GM issues a recall at some point and then i can get reimbursed.
  8. UPDATE: Truck is at dealership now. I spoke to service manager, and he started at $1100 for condenser and labor. I told him i spoke to GM corporate about it and was looking for relief he said "let me check, they have a calculator" and said ok $700. I am still waiting to hear back from my contact at GM executive office as well as a chat with chevy customer service right now. Feel like they should really make good here. We will see.
  9. just got a new set of wheels on mine
  10. no way... i think if you cut the front 2-3 inches off of each then itd go together with just a little bit of nip and tuck
  11. that's why im thinking the cut and graft will look better
  12. i want this hood in the worst way. Would just need to cut the front couple inches off of it and graft the front couple inches from my hood (or a donor hood) onto it. Anyone know a good custom fab shop on long island lol
  13. gm p/n: 23385942 fits 14-15 1500 grilles yea that's what i mean. I currently have my front and rear plasti dipped but it'll be nice to switch the rear to a painted one.
  14. Found a seller on Ebay selling the front and rear for $240 so i hopped on it. Paypal credit makes it hurt a little less lol. Ill be color matching a spare grille i have lying around and putting it on. can't wait.
  15. also cross drilled a hole through the PVS and metal flag pole and use a cotter pin to further secure it.
  16. i built a C shaped mount out of 2x10 and tied it to the front (cab side) drivers side tie down. Then screwed a piece of PVC to that and it works great. even on the highway.
  17. its exactly that. no problem doing it unless you don't want it to function that way.
  18. in for updates. interested to see this done on the silverado
  19. penn platinum for me. usually get it at wally world with a delco filter.
