Why spend the money on the pricey lifts when you can just buy a Zone Lift (sister company of BDS) for a fraction of the price? All the reviews I've seen on here speak very highly of this lift. Anybody know the big differences between one vs. the other? My truck has the steel control arms, not the aluminum. I really want to lift the truck, but why so much variance in kit pricing? I'd imagine there can't be too many ways to lift a truck, so the parts/materials in each kit are likely very similar right? I'm no expert by any means, but I've heard good things about all those lifts (including Pro Comp). Heard a couple negative grumblings about Rough Country though..

It fits on miiiiiine....my carwash doesn't have a typical track. It has a conveyer...super wide belt too!

Man, I'm ready to put a lift on my truck, but I didn't want to go with FabTech cuz it's like $600 more than the Zone Lift. I can get the Zone for $899 online...the Fab is like $1600 (for the 2WD). That said, I'm not doing it unless I know it can fit in my local carwash. I got a deal there for unlimited washes for $19.99 per month, and I love to keep my baby CLEAN! Over there, the max clearance is 83". The Zone Lift is a 6.5" and not a 6" like the Fab Tech. You think if I put some 35"s on with the 6.5" Zone Lift it'll sit just as high as yours? That would give me 1/2" clearance if my math is right!

Call me crazy, but couldn't you achieve this same look with a leveling kit? Don't get me wrong, the Camburg "lifted" truck shown in the photo looks great, but it just looks like a truck with a leveling kit on it, not a lift. I could never justify that expense, even with the money to burn. Do you NOT like the way these trucks look with a proper leveling kit on them? They're still beasts, and with that extra $2000 you save, you could go out and buy some wheels! I know, I know, it's your call, your money, etc...I'm just sayin'

My ReadyLift 2.25" leveling kit rides a little stiff; but then again the day I installed it I also had the wheels and tires switched out (from the stock 17's--Tire--265/70/17 to the chrome factory 20's--275/55/20. I've talked to several people about it, and they tell me it's a combination of the two that stiffened my ride up. #1-The billet spacer is HARD. Good for durability, but no "give". 2-Tires went from a 7" sidewall, to a 5.5". The tire shop tells me for a street tire, the largest I can run with the lift is a 275/60/20. Does anyone have any opinions about whether or not that 1/2" thickness to the sidewall will help my ride quality? Dude at the tire shop did. Note: I'm pretty sure I can fit a wider/mudder tire (like a 285 or a 295), but I just don't really want a noisy tire right now. Looking for a street tire that'll give me a softer ride.

AWESOME REPLY! I really appreciate you taking the time. Now I'm just narrowing things down to either the Zone or the Fabtech. How do you like the height of your lift. 6.5" seems so high to me. That's what kills me....I want to lift the truck, but I think a 4" might be a bit modest and a 6" a little too high! AHHHHH! lol

That's a good lookin' truck right there! Why did you decide to go with the Zone lift? I see more and more people going with the Zone recently. Also, I was on the fence about going with either the FabTech, or the BDS lift...was leaning toward the BDS because of all the positive comments made on here about quality and customer service; but then I went and talked to a couple shops and they said the BDS warranty isn't as good as advertised because they don't answer their phone and won't get back to you in a timely fashion. That said, what made you decide to go with the Zone lift over all the alternatives?

Brininger! I love your truck! In fact it's the exact same one as mine, other than the fact that I have a 2.25" Ready Lift leveling kit on mine. You obviously have a lift kit on yours. Please tell me what lift kit you are using--and what is the hight? I can't believe you have the factory rims on there! I love the factory rims! I just didn't know you could still use them on a lifted truck. What kit do you have that allows you to use the factory rims? The ones you and I have are a +27. Also, what tires are those? Size?...Thanks!

How did you use the stock wheels with your FabTech 7" lift? I thought for sure you'd have to go with an aftermarket wheel. My stock 20"s have a +27 offset and I was told that I'd definitely have to swap out my rims with a different offset rim if I lifted my truck...

You're so right! I DO WORRY! But yeah, I'm pretty sure I'm gonna go with a 275/60/20. That'll give me some size and cushion, AND won't cost me an extra $100 per tire! LOL! Not going to get any new tires yet. The cruddy ones I've got now are brand new. No sense in swapping them out until I've fully run through them; but I'll keep you posted on when the newbies go on. For my money, ratings wise the Bridgestone Dueler H/L Alenza Plus' look the best. "H" speed rating with a 80k mile warranty. All for just $185 per tire. That's a good deal for a HIGHLY rated tire.

How do you account for offset? Or how do you "offset" the rim? I'm running the factory chrome 20"s. I think they're a 20x9. Is there an offset on these rims? Is that what you're referring to? I thought you had to buy the rims with the offset already there, i.e. do the factory rims already have offsets? I don't think they do. Correct me if I'm wrong here. I'd love to run a 305/55/20, but from what I've been reading, I can't do that without an offset rim. Are you suggesting I buy rims that are offset so that I can run the tire I want? If so, I probably can't do that. Already spent an arm and a leg upgrading to 20" factory wheels from the stock 17's. I need to keep the rims that I've got. Can I still run a 305/55/20 with the rims I have?

Hi all, I'm running the stock Chrome 20"s with crappy Good Year LS2 275/55/20 tires. I also have a 2.25" ReadyLift level. I want to swap my tires out but keep hearing different advice about how big I can safely go. Two different guys at the tire shop told me two different things. One guy said I could run all the way up to a 305/55/20...the other guy said 275/60/20 was as big as I could go. Does anybody know what the truth is here? I don't want rubbing.

My good friend (an F-150 owner) told me that if I was going to get rims, I should always go OEM manufacturer with it instead of going after market. He said, "aftermarket rims look ghetto". I went on Chevy's website and they have a couple of sets of 20" and 22" rims that I REALLY LIKE. Haven't seen anything comparable on line. Does anyone know of any sweet aftermarket rim companies? I don't want to get the Chevy OEM's cuz they're SUPER EXPENSIVE!!!
