  1. No, i ordered mine through Jegs. My kit was $319 to my door, came with the can, most hoses (missing the 1/2" hose for the valve cover crossover), the clean side separator and that bracket.
  2. No, i didn't fab that bracket. that;s what came with my kit. that bracket didn't look like the one in the videos or other posts so my hardest time with installation for figuring out where to put that bracket. i can get a better shot of the bracket if you want one.
  3. Well, finally got my catch can installed. here's my write up on it. My truck has 15,500 miles on it currently. Basically i followed the video RX Performance has for it, located here: The disassemble was easy. the hardest part was finding a mounting location. i was trying to keep the can as far away from the engine as i could, wanting to keep the can as cool as i could under the assumption that the cooler temp would help the oil condense faster and catch more oil. During disassembly i chose to remove the throttle body as well and check it out. as you can see, it was already getting plenty of buildup on it. After the throttle body was off, i did my best to wipe out the intake as best as i could. got about 3 out that looked like this. including some that had actual wet oil on them. guess it was a needed addition... Ended up mounting my can to the front of the radiator mount. seemed like a good place with easy access to the can for emptying. Heres a picture where i added the hose to the intake side. Sorry, forgot to take a picture of the PCV plug i disconnected but it was really simple once i had the airbox removed. I have the clean side separator and will put it on soon, however, the kit i got did not have the larger hose needed to connect the two valve covers together. I'll update once i have some miles on this to show what i've collected.
  4. This may be a dumb question, but what did you use to cap the other other intake fitting?
  5. From inside the cab or just with the hood open?
  6. Ordered my RX Performance catch can from Jegs 3 days ago and it just showed up. came with the catch can, hoses, hardware, and very surprisingly, the clean side separator, all for $319 to my door. The separator was shown in the image but just looked like some stock RX Performance image, so, wasn't expecting to get it as well, given on the RX Performance site, that piece alone is $99 plus the main oil separator is $389. Through Jegs, i got both for $319. hopefully i'll get time this weekend to install it and post some pics.
  7. Had similiar to this happen to me early this week. Drove about 80 miles in 4wd (tthrough the bad ice/snow storm Tennessee got). Next morning, truck idled rough, vibrated a little while driving. Mid afternoon took it out of 4wd and back to 2wd. Noticed it was still steering heavy and I could feel the front end still pulling a little and intermittently jerking. Went to a big parking lot and back up, turning wheels left and right while backing up. No noticeable sound or feeling during but as soon as I drove forward I could tell I was definitely in 2wd now. Never any messages in dash, no lights. But it was definitely still in 4wd even though truck dial indicated 2wd and I got the notification message about "switching 4wd mode" when I moved the dial from 4wd to 2wd.
  8. Truck was on level ground, not moving, foot held firmly on the brake. Truck lurched a little bit with each shift. Still normal?
  9. I've been having some of the other mentioned transmission "anomalies" such as abrupt 1-2-3, 3-2-1 shifts, a few instances where the transmission has almost felt like did slipped little. Random instances of abrupt shifts coming off coasting/slowing down and the clunk/thump in the rear end/driveline. I've never noticed this in other vehicles and our Hyundai suv doesn't make noise like this. Happened to back the truck up a few feet with the door open and noticed this. Is this level of noise normal or expected with these trucks? For this video I held my foot on the brake and was shifting between D and R. You can hear my gear shift lever chanting and then the loud clunk second later when the transmission changes. I've never gotten any warning lights or anything. I have noticed a few times where it seems to hang for a second before it actually shifts but never noticed the clunking before. Just seeing if this is normal. http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj284/steven_sutton1/Mobile%20Uploads/th_20150220_150525_zpsaw7skusp.mp4
