  1. Dang, you really wanted everyone to see this by posting in 10 different threads! Looks good -- nice and beefy, but your definition of "fit" might be limited to level straight pavement running. At full lock with any kind of suspension compression, they are going to hit. May just rub a little, or may catch the liner and start shredding it. Looks like a tire more suited for a 4" lift than a level. Glad you posted this because it confirms that my 285/65/R18s are the biggest I can run on my 2.5 level 2014 Sierra based on the way I use my truck.
  2. Do you like your truck otherwise? If so, fix it and drive on. Yes it's frustrating to have these things happen...I had the condenser issue that ultimately ended up costing me about $500. I also had the numerous recalls and expensive service -- $170 for front differential fluid change, C'mon man!!! But after about 4 or 5 years, things do break and fixing them is waaaaaay cheaper than the depreciation, and the tax, title, license of a new truck. A new AT4 to replace my Sierra Z71 is $55K not counting TTL and insurance increase. That's around $30K to get into a new truck not counting any upgrades I would do to the AT4 (like tires). Even if you put $10K into your current truck over the next 4 years (highly unlikely), you are money ahead. But sometimes it's just time for a new vehicle. 'Merica!
  3. At least 1mpg if not 2mpg. Get more like 15+ now instead of 17+. Definite power loss when towing something heavy. If they were 35s, I'd want to re-gear to 4:11.
  4. I've got them in 285/65r18 on stockers....says 33x11 on the side. Great fit with a level, but 305/65 would probably fit too. Look incredible. Ride pretty good. Not noisy. Great wet weather traction. I've got 45psi in them and it feels weird going into a fast corner...like the truck is leaning. I just take those corners slower now because I don't want to run 50psi in them.
  5. beautiful color. Double cab FTW!!
  6. 2014 GMC Sierra with 47K miles: - electric steering causing pull when new. $1500 new steering unit under warranty - bad vibes when new. $800 new set of tires by dealer under warranty - A/C condenser failed at 37K. $1250 repair out of warranty. GM cost share 50% so I got $550 back - new battery at 37K. $250 paid by me - headlight went out at 40K. $50 paid by me (I changed both) - many, many recalls mostly for firmware upgrades - tranny clunks when it shifts at lower speeds I love the truck and just accept it's not going to be flawless. I got it new for about $10K under an ugly ass Tundra and I won't have another Ford. Dodge isn't even a consideration for me. GMC is still the best looking truck on the road right now (to me)....I could be persuaded to buy the next generation Tundra if it ever comes out.
  7. I will need to drive it a tank or two before I will know for sure, but I'm going to guess I will. They are taller, wider and heavier. I got about 18.5 with the 275/65r18 Nittos. I suspect I will drop 1+ mpg BTW, the tires say 33x11.5 on the side. I've very happy with this size...anything bigger and I would need more lift. IMO it's the perfect balanced look for a level.
  8. 285/65r18 Falkens on stock GMC Z71 rims with 2.5 RCX level in front, 2" blocks and Rite Rite bags in rear. 32" tall and 11" or so wide with weight of truck on tires.
  9. 285/65r18 Falken Wildpeak AT3Ws mounted today on my stockers. Got a huge thorn in the sidewall of my Nittos so it forced my hand last night into getting some tires today. They look AMAZING and there is some room in there for 295/65s (maybe) but I wasn't willing to try 305/65s in Falkens. $1321 out the door w/ road force. The Nitto TG G2s are 275/65r18 and are not LT tires and have about 45K miles on them. The Falkens are 32" tall even mounted on the truck. Didn't gain a helluva lot in size when they are sitting side by side, but the "WOW" factor is night and day. Falkens a little noiser and stiffer riding than the Nittos, but not unpleasant. RCX 2.5 level in front. Rear 2" blocks + Firestone RideRite Airbags
  10. You are right. Guess I'm just too right side oriented.
  11. Maybe ya'll are left handed?? Having something on the left side of the steering wheel that I have to adjust or even glance at takes my eyes off the road way too much. I run my fog lights whenever I drive, day or night, and even pushing the headlight center button is more than I want to turn my head to the left. With the controller in front of me, to the right, I can reach down still keeping my eyes forward and toggle the brakes with the slider bar, or turn the dial to increase the brakes or let off them. Much safer and easier for me. Maybe it's because I'm right handed and right eye dominant...but that is probably the majority of the world.
  12. That's hideous. Like having a tach or tuner on your dash.
  13. Much better. Those look beefy and wide for a 275/70. What's your tread width and overall "appearance" or section width from the front and back?
  14. At least you can see detail in chrome rims. To each their own, but every black rim looks the same to me especially 50' away or more. They look especially hideous on a white truck. When someone spends bank on rims and is excited about their new look, all I can muster is "that's nice".
  15. I hate black rims, and I have the same rims on my GMC so I prefer the "now" look! Would like to see some more angles as that's probably my next tire + size.
  16. Double stuffed Oreo right there. You need at least 4" of lift to run those tires.
  17. Did you get rid of the rims and tires already? measurements mounted but not on the truck would be OK too. I don't think you're gonna like the ride of those new 20s!!
  18. Before you swap tires, can you take some measurements for me? I don't typically like a 275/70 because they are so narrow, but those look good. What is the tread width (edge to edge)? What is the section width (bulge to bulge)? Total mounted height? Also, a pic from the back and front to see the width of the tire. Thank you!
  19. The flawed ones leak...new or old design. =)
  20. Go ahead and go 285/65r18. You will thank me if you do.
  21. That looks great. I've heard you can run 1" spacers without trimming the studs if you have the pockets in back of your wheels. They are 20" rims on your truck, right?
  22. My Husqarvana hydro 42" is 18 years old and runs like the day I got it....bought it used with about 12hrs on it. It's got the Kawasaki V-Twin super smooth engine with pressure lube w/filter. I don't think they make them like this anymore. I had to borrow my neighbor's Craftsman when mine finally wore out the belt in the middle of a mow. What a piece of crap....I would never own a Craftsman mower. And what a pain to put in reverse and then it won't cut in reverse...not sure if all new mowers are like that, but that sucks. And it didn't have a mulching deck, so it was impossible to not get clippings everywhere. For me must haves: - Hydrostatic tranny - pressured lube - multi cylinder engine (24hp single cylinder engines are clunky) - mulching deck - able to cut in reverse My next mower purchase will be Kubota diesel...I expect it will be my last!
  23. The dimensions of a 285/65r18 tire are 11.22” wide (section width) & 32.6” tall (outside dia) The section width is 285mm wide (There are 25.4mm to an inch) STEP 1) 285mm divided by 25.4” = 11.22” (section width) STEP 2) Multiply 11.22 (section width) by .65 (aspect ratio) 11.22 x .65 = 7.29” (section height) To find the outside diameter Multiply 7.29 (section height) x 2 then add rim diameter STEP 3) 7.29” x 2 = 14.58” + 18.0” = 32.58” round out to 32.6” (outside dia)
