  1. It's called the Chevy Lean....very common and I doubt many (if any) trucks are perfect height on both the left and right side. Some say it's due to the fuel tank on the driver's side. I would say anything under 1" difference, just drive it and enjoy it.
  2. Those Generals look much beefier than KO2s in that same size. Looks like you have some ballooning around the rim to make them look wider. How do you like the front and rear look of them?
  3. Take out the ReadyLift struts (and sell them) and put your original struts back in. Get a RC 2.5 level kit with rear blocks and install it. Maintains close to your factory ride with just a little loss in suspension travel. Get a FE alignment and you are ready to roll. Any shop that does your FE alignment can fix your steering wheel....it's part of an alignment package and I wouldn't leave or pay until the wheel is perfectly straight.
  4. I put the 2.5" Rancho ReadyLift on my F150. It was a horrible ride just like you are talking about. I put the 2.5 Level on my '14 Sierra and it's much better than my Ford with the ReadyLift. I would just suck it up and get rid of that lift and go to a leveling kit. Lift is too short to ride in a truck like that. First of all, yes, your dealer can align it; they are choosing not to. Having a crooked steering wheel would drive me nuts. Wheel alignment is a crap shoot. I went to one of our better known 4x4 places after I put my level on and they brought it into "green" specs. Only the Toe was out. But it was wearing the LF tire bad, so I took it back and they said it was a degree off. Still noticed wear on LF, so at 15K service at dealer today, I had FE alignment done. Their print out said the LF was fine but the RF was off. ?? That makes no sense to me as the RF was not wearing. I had an X rotation done, so I'll monitor treadwear and see what happens. At this rate, there is no way I'm get 65K out of my Nittos.
  5. Yes, if you are going to put a rear block on, put it on before the alignment. Part of your alignment is checking that your rear wheels are tracking directly behind your front tires. If the rear axle U-bolts are tightened with the new blocks without checking "square", you will get rear tire wear. Measurement from center wheel front and back should be the same on both sides of the truck.
  6. I don't have a BL on this truck, but I've done 3" BLs before and yes, 3" leaves quite a gap and shows a lot of the frame. The 1.5" I have seen on here don't look like they have a BL on them....even from the rear. My side bars attach to the body mount bolts instead of the cab, so if I do a BL, I have to get new steps or my cab will be high and side bars low.
  7. Lots of folks are running 33x12 with 4" lift; mainly because that's all that will fit. You have to go 5" or better to run 35s. 1.5" Body lift will get you to 4". Most true lifts are going to push your front track wider and require running spacer on the rear wheels. Level + Body Lift can get you to 4" without a lot of cost and major modification to your existing suspension.
  8. Thanks for the info. That will help a lot of folks on here that are running stockers and want a beefier tire. Looks like your swaybar was rubbed by something....it was shiny! These trucks have tons of power over previous generations. At 340hp, that's more than enough to move a 12x33 tire and the 4-way disc brakes will stop it easily--just seems sluggish compared to the GY donuts that were on it stock. I get a new truck every 8 years or so and am amazed at the hp and MPG increase over the last class of trucks. And the transmissions are matched better too. My truck is leveled with 31x9 on it...one size over stock. With 14K miles on it, my average is 15.5mpg. When I upsize to 285 or 305, I expect that to drop to 13 or so.
  9. Since they come with the crappiest street tire possible (GY SRAs...really?), it doesn't take much for an improvement. What's your real world tread width on them...about 9" or so? Looking at the rear of the tire, there seems to be an inch or more of room when going straight. Swaybar clearance measurement at full lock?
  10. That's the same size as a 285/65r18. How much room do you have around the tire at full lock, especially next to the swaybar? I'm wanting to run the 305/65r18 KO2a on stockers, but have only found one truck like that, and he had KOs, not KO2s. Visually, how do you like the width of the 285? Is it enough to make it look oversized over stock?
  11. if GM would put those Michelins on their trucks stock like Toyota does on the TRD that would be nice. Much better than the GY crap they put on that we pay $350 extra for an "A/T tire option".
  12. 285/65r18 : No rub except maybe a little on swaybar. 295/65r18 : Might rub a little on swaybar and liner. Very few tires available in this size. 295/70r18 : Will rub swaybar and liner. Really need 4" total lift for this tire. Even if the wheelwells look level, the big hoods on these trucks make the nose look high if you don't put the rear block in. Put 2" up front, and you lose all the rake, at least visually. If you never put anything in the bed, you might like the look, but carry or tow anything, and you will wish you put the rear block in. There are hundreds of leveled pictures on this site and others, so it's a choice you are going to have to make for yourself. Google Images: Leveled Silverado I have a friend running a 2015 with that exact tire with the full RC 2.5" level (front and rear) on Fuels 20x10 with 0 offset. He is rubbing the liner bad in reverse lock. You want to push the tire out 1.78" which may help you with the liner rub, but might cause you issues with the fender.
  13. Thanks for posting some more pictures. I don't plan on going to a 35" tire like your Nittos, but those 305/65r18 BFGs look killer . I also like how your truck looks "stock but lifted" rather than rims and a bunch of add-ons/mods that kinda mess up the nice clean OEM look. KO or KO2? I assume KO because they were OWL. I don't know if there is any difference in size between the two models of tires. The 305/65/r18 comes in at 33.5 x 12 which I assume is a little smaller once mounted. You are saying that you had them on for awhile and did some off roading and didn't have any contact with the swaybar or trim any inner liner? If I went that size, I think I would have to stay with BFG as I think Nittos run a little fatter and the Toyo Open Country AT2 doesn't come in that size.
  14. I don't run 20s, so I can't help you, but there are hundreds of posts about those exact sizes. Look up the KO2 thread.
  15. The Nitto G2 285/75r18 is almost a 35" tire! I don't think I have come across anyone running that size with a level. Do you have any pictures of your truck with that tire on it?
  16. +1....I'm interested in this answer as well. After searches on this forum and the "other" forum, I've found a few pics of 2014+ leveled with 305/65r18 on stockers, but there wasn't any information provided about rubbing, power loss, mpg, or ride quality. Coming in at 33.5" tall and 12" wide, it should fit especially since BFGs run narrow and squared off with little sidewall bulge. Would like some confirmation though before I drop $1200 on a set!!
  17. From Post #2720 on page 182 in case someone else is interested. Finally, after 182 pages, I see someone is running 305/65r18s on stockers. Would like to know more about this truck and any clearance or power issues with those great looking tires. Or from anyone else running 305/65 or 305/60 on stock 18s with a level. Seems like a beefier alternative to 285/65s. I'm guessing it works because BFGs tend to run narrow and very square with little sidewall bulge (section width).
  18. Sorry....double post
  19. Need some more details! Lift? No hub knuckle rub with stock rims? Metric size or 35x12.50r18?
  20. Were you able to put a tape measure on your 285s and let us know the actual mounted dimensions?
  21. I'm interested in seeing some daylight pics of this setup. How does that extra weight effect performance?
  22. Looking for actual vertical height and tread width and section width with the truck weight on it. BFGs tend to run narrow, so trying to see if 305s might be a better option for me than 285s.
  23. Still waiting.....wanting to know the actual sizes once on the truck. !!!!
  24. What are the mounted dimensions with the weight of the truck on the front tires? Horizontal and vertical across the centerline of the rim. Also, the tread width and eyeballed section width. They look nice and wide, and fill the wheel well. You were debating between the extra height of the 275 vs the width of the 285. Happy with your choice?
  25. Post em up when they are on. Popular tire size, but not a lot of pics on here with them.
