  1. Sure! If I decide to order anything from eBay I'll post what I ordered and how it went. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. That's good to know that I have a dealership by me that isn't price gouging. The dealership that quoted me was Reliable Chevrolet in Richardson, TX for those of you in the area. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. That's great feedback! I'll probably order them from eBay once I give up looking for the ones I lost. Thanks! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. So it happened-I lost my set of keys. Luckily I found my spare set so I'm good for the moment. A local dealership quoted me $45 for a key that I could program myself and $120 for a key fob+$40 for them to program the fob. Do these prices sound average? I'm going to call around to other dealerships in my area (currently in N. Dallas, TX) to get a feel tomorrow. I saw some remotes that claim to be OEM on eBay for $50. I'd still have to get the dealership to program but that's $70 saved off what I was quoted for the remote. Anyone have any experience going the 'ebay' route?
  5. Let me start by saying I love my truck and know this is pretty much standard across manufacturers to pay for a map updates. For those of you that didn't know, navigation map updates will come at a cost of $159.99 and can be found in a DIY kit from GM found here: http://gmnavdisc.navigation.com/product/Catalog/Catalog_Chevrolet_Silverado_2015_USBMap/GM-Next-Generation-Infotainment-System-Map-Update-V.2015-zid23496379/en_US/GMNA/USD. The more economic option would be to pick up a used kit via eBay for around $100. It's crazy to think my $50K+ Silverado (as well as more expensive vehicles i.e. Corvettes/Suburbans/XTS/ELR) with such an expensive option has a maintenance cost of $159.99 keep it top of the line when I can get a portable Garmin at a local retailer can sell me a unit with Lifetime Updates for under $150. I live in a pretty well developed area where a new road is a rarity so I will not be updating at that cost but for the consumers that live or commute to areas that change more frequently I can't help but feel bad. $160 map update has to be over 80% profit and GM even wants you to fit the bill for shipping the new kit too. At that cost I might as well grab my ankles and some Vaseline. I'm new and have to say this forum is great! Happy Truckin!
  6. Just wanted to chime in on my expereince and opinion on the AFM. Mine will regularly shift into V4 mode on the highway when I have it in cruise in the 55-65 range. Above 65 it likes to stick more to the V8 mode. Shifting between 4 and 8 is seamless but not completely undetectable. It could also be the truck shifting to accomodate the drop/increase in power but a passenger wouldn't know the difference. The instant gas mileage display can jump up past 20 easily when it dives in V4 mode and have had strictly V8 trucks in the past and from what I can tell the display seems accurate. I've read of products users have recommended on this forum that you could plug in to force it to stay in V8 mode. Keeping in V8 serves no purpose for me. I'd actually like to see a product that could keep it in V4 longer. A family member has a 2011 GMC Terrain with an ECO button. It's already a V4 so I assume it plays with the RPMs/Transmission in her vehicle. It definitely feels sluggish when pressed but for me, I'd accept the sliggish performance for highter fuel economy as long as I have the option to disable it when I want the performance restored. Other vehicles out today have the ability to switch between driving modes. Ideally I'd like to see a Sport mode which would keep it in V8, Normal mode which would be the stock setup we have now and an Eco mode which would push it to use V4 mode more often than V8. AFM system has been great to me so far, but the addition of something along the lines of a 'Mode Selector' would really take it above and beyond.
