  1. nothing yet, I havn't heard back.... I was just posting what I've decided to do, and what my thoughts are
  2. I called GM yesterday to start the buyback process, I straight up told them that at this point, I hate this truck and don't want it anymore, I've had the truck in 5 times for the same problems, and none have been fixed. Initially I was considering a trade assist and going to another GM to save money, but ultimately I decided peace of mind was more important than a couple grand. I wouldn't take a 2016 since I know those have the same issues, I suspect the 2017's will have them aswell since GM isn't doing a mechanical redesign until 2018 or 2019, then I never buy a first production run vehicle, so that means I would be waiting until 2019 or 2020 for a new vehicle. I'm not waiting that long, and I doubt they would let me anyway. I should be hearing back from GM Between Monday and Wednesday (their 48 hour time frame). Where I will have to tell them that I decided that I can't bring myself to risk having the same problems on another truck so I need a full repurchase. I ran my numbers, and I believe I will be getting $47,400 from GM, and about 5,400 from recovering the sales tax, and excise tax I paid on the lemon, this gives me $52,800 then i need to pay the rest of the loan off, so roughly -$16,000 and that leaves me with 36,800 as the down payment for my new truck, I've already priced out exactly what I want in RAM, FORD, and TOYOTA. At this point, I don't know which I will go with, all three have positives and negatives. RAM: + great audio system + best FE in the 1/2 ton segment + drive lines have been great as of late + great riding truck - I hate the amount of flecks in the black paint (incase anyone doesn't know what flecks is, it is metallic pieces in the paint, think of sparkles that kids use) - again with the paint, they use a black pearl... it just has an odd look in my opinion - Not the biggest fan of the rims they utilize, but I can always replace those - The truck says RAM or have the RAM logo EVERYWHERE FORD: + Workhorse of a truck + lots of great features and a pretty good audio system + black paint is good looking + pretty good looking rims +/- Rides more like a truck than GM... unsure about this - have had reports of vibrations issues as of late - have had some issues with paint adhering to the aluminum panels - were having issues with the left side cylinder heads (This was fixed if I remember correctly) TOYOTA: + tried and true drive train + has serious balls for towing + fairly good JBL audio system - worst fuel economy in the 1/2 ton segment - body style is a bit round for my liking
  3. I agree, I have decided to push for a full buyback, and I'm going to change brands. I just can't bring myself to take another GM, even if it costs me less money. I know for a fact that the 2016's have the problems, and I suspect the 2017's will as well, since they aren't doing a heavy redesign until atleast 2018 if not 2019. Then I never buy a product in its first MY run, so that makes it 2019 or 2020, until I'd even be willing to try another. There is no way they would let it go until then. In addition, I have lost so much respect for GM through this, that in all reality I never want to own another GM product anyway. LOL I've basically decided that I don't want to even risk another GM as I know the 2016's have the same issues, and I suspect the 2017's will aswell LOL At this point, I don't know which I will go with, all three have positives and negatives. RAM: + great audio system + best FE in the 1/2 ton segment + drive lines have been great as of late + great riding truck - I hate the amount of flex in the black paint (incase anyone doesn't know what flex is, it is metallic pieces in the paint, think of sparkles that kids use) - again with the paint, they use a black pearl... it just has an odd look in my opinion - Not the biggest fan of the rims they utilize, but I can always replace those - The truck says RAM or have the RAM logo EVERYWHERE FORD: + Workhorse of a truck + lots of great features and a pretty good audio system + black paint is good looking + pretty good looking rims +/- Rides more like a truck than GM... unsure about this - have had reports of vibrations issues as of late - have had some issues with paint adhering to the aluminum panels - were having issues with the left side cylinder heads (This was fixed if I remember correctly) TOYOTA: + tried and true drive train + has serious balls for towing + fairly good JBL audio system - worst fuel economy in the 1/2 ton segment - body style is a bit round for my liking
  4. Well, I called GM today, Told them that I had picked up my truck from its 5th repair attempt yesterday, and it still isn't fixed. I decided to start off playing nice, so instead of going into it angry and demanding they buy it back or I'll sue them, I simply asked what can be done, because it's to the point that I hate this truck, and don't want it anymore. They were courteous and appeared to understand (likely acting, as taking calls from pissed off people is their job), anyway, they initial representative transferred me to their "Senior Advisers" who asked me more questions, They are reaching out to the DM and the Manager of After Sales (or whatever the hell it is) at my new servicing GMC dealer, even though I have a Chevy (I did straight tell them, I will never go back to Best Chevrolet because of their service department, so they allowed it to be set up with the GMC dealer). they want 48 business hours to reach out and hear back from these people, and I will be contacted with what decided to do. If at this point, they aren't willing give me any options that are acceptable, I will file suit.
  5. please note, I said some states don't allow the attempt to count if your take a loaner, not all. GM handles buybacks differently for everyone, Going the lemon law route, you have to send them notice, then allow them one final repair attempt
  6. I can say that in the last couple weeks alone, I've been at my new dealer 7 times, and 3 of those times someone came in because of the vibration, and 2 times they had someone calling in about it. Don't know if any of them are related, picking it up today someone was calling in about the same radio issues I have....
  7. thats what I'm doing, I'm calling tomorrow
  8. Well I picked up my truck again today after they finally replaced the radio.....IT STILL DOESN'T F*CKING WORK, I LOST ALL THE HIGHS AND THE VOLUME FADED BEFORE I WAS EVEN OUT OF THE PARKING LOT..... I'm calling GM and basically telling them I have just picked my truck up from it's 5th repair attempt, and I'm done f*ucking around with this. They now have 2 options, they can buy it back on their own, or I'm filing lemon law, and will bring multiple other suits for fraud should I have to go that route. I'm DONE with this Bullsh*t
  9. I'm Picking up my truck from its 5th repair attempt for the radio and vibration today. they finally decided to replace the radio, and didnt work on the vibration at all because last time they got it to 16 milli G's which is withing GM's made up spec of 22 milli G's. yet you still feel the vibration
  10. Well I got a call from my dealer tonight, they decided tot replace the radio, but could do nothing further for the vibration because the truck is within GM's bullshit spec. I'm picking it up tomorrow, I'll update you all on how it is. Likely going to file lemon law.
  11. because it is within GM's made up spec, they won't. they won't do any work they won't get reimbursed for. It sucks, but they didn't manufacture the trucks, they are just stuck like us holding the shit end of the stick.
  12. They have the DMA coming in a week or so, both the service manager and the sales manager are going to speak with him in my behalf.... Who knows, they may still have my truck there since it's going back in on Tuesday. This will be time #5 at the dealer for these issues, it is the last attempt before I file lemon law. Even with a trade assist of 5k it would still cost me 9k to get out of it, and stay with a comparable truck. And honestly the only way I'd really be willing to stay with GM is through a straight swap of collateral. I'd spend 3-4K to change brands and know I won't have these problems, I won't spend another 3-4K to stay with GM and possibly have them all over again
  13. I told them the only way I could do it was if I kept my current payment of 350/mo ... They came back with nearly double that and I couldn't get them lower. That 28k is in line with every other non-GM dealership ive been to and they've all said the values have been really hurt because of the vibration ( except the sales at the GM dealer) although I went back and talked to the shop foreman after and he did say it. "They have to deal with new customers looking to buy that feel it, and they won't pay with the vibe" If I could trade it in, and get out of this truck for 3-4 k i would
  14. I wish I had an answer for that.... they should just recall them all and destroy them for the vibration and other issues they have
  15. Ok, I just picked my truck up and have a good amount of info to post for everyone.I will cover the repair attempts first, then at the bottom address more information I got from the foreman, so bear with me. Vibration: On the original pico-scope test, my truck registered 27 milli G's on a T1 (which is parts of the vehicle that rotate at tire speed). The GM threshold spec is 22 milli G's. So as it turns out, I really did have a bad tire, not by the RFB, (RFB measures the stiffness of the sidewall), but tread wise. When it was on the machine, the tire itself had lateral movement (lateral runout), so it was a manufacturing issue, and it was replaced. On the second test, after getting the new tire, the truck registered 16 milli G's for the T1, although they did admit and put in writing on the service documents that it does increase in severity as the truck gets driven. Before even getting my keys, the Shop Foreman told me that I will still feel the vibration, it just won't be quite as bad. Specifically, he said that with a reading in the teens on the pico, you will still feel it, however GM doesn't consider below 22 milli G's a problem, yet the foreman agrees that feeling any vibration in a vehicle this expensive is ridiculous, and he would be as pissed as we all are. As for my own road test, I was pissed off and just made the short back road trip back to my house, and didn't hit any highways. I can say however that atleast on the back roads, there is little if any improvement, possibly even slightly worse, I need to take a longer drive to rally figure it out. I will hit the highways over the next few days and report if I think it is any better then. Radio: As for the radio issue, they performed PI1374F, which is actually directed to the 2014 MY trucks that also have issues with fading radios'. This did help slightly with how the highs get lost, in the sense that it isn't quite as pronounced, but it still happens. In addition, the radio now makes an intermittent buzzing sound and gets more static than it ever used to. Thinking that maybe they took the unit out, and a connection came loose. I called them when I got home to ask if they did, and they said no, so the truck is going back on Tuesday regardless of the severity of the vibration on the highway. GM Trade in: So just for kicks, after they gave me the paperwork and said it was all fixed, I asked what they could do for me on getting me into a '16 Sierra, since my truck is now all set.... They offered 28k for my truck, and thats from a GM dealer... so even GM wont pay what the their own trucks are supposed to be worth, smdh. Nope More Info: No, the Picoscope can not tell the difference between the tire and the hub, the hub spins at tire speed and is shown as part of a T1 Vibe, it is up to the tech to figure what part could be causing the vibration. So as we know, GM lowered their RFB spec, industry standard is 30 lbs, GM has decided theirs is now 25 lbs, allegedly to try to help the vibration we all have. Mine all registered 16lbs or lower. GM has set their threshold PICO number to 22 milli G's, yet the vibration will still be felt even lower than that, like my truck for example at 16 milli G's GM currently has 37 PI's in their system all related to attempting to fix vibration in their SUV' and Truck' (the foreman showed me the system on the computer) Some people like myself have noticed that we have paid for upgraded A/T tires, yet got Wrangler SRA' tires, a highway all season tire. Per the shop foreman, GM decided that the Wrangler SRA is an A/T tire, even though industry says its not, and neither does GoodYear for that matter. (the foreman agrees that the SRA is not an A/T tire). Both the shop foreman and the sales manager I spoke with suggested continually calling GM to complain and say you're very unhappy with the trucks, and to try to make as much noise about the problems as we can. NEW RECALL: In case anyone hasn't heard it yet, GM is now recalling 1.04 million 2014 and 2015 Pickups because of faulty seat belts. check your vins everyone.

  17. Well, I got a call from the dealer about an hour ago. They couldn't find anything for what was happening with my radio, so they called GM to work with them. GM admitted to the issue with losing all the highs, and audio fading, saying that its a rarer issue and gave the dealer a special update to do. I said, that I knew there was an update that could be done (referring to this), and that I had heard mixed reviews on it, he then said that that one is for a different issue, and the one they did is 100% specific for the issue my radio has. So according to them, my truck is now 100% fixed, vibration and all. I'll be the judge of that, and I'll post the PI numbers for what was done when I pick the truck up tomorrow.

  19. Just got off the phone with the dealer, they are claiming that replacing the tire has fix it, that it now rides smooth and is well within GM spec. I asked what they found with the radio, so he said to give him a minute so he can go ask what they found...... the guy completely forgot about it, it wasn't done. He is going to do it now, and call me again when they figure out what to do with that... I highly doubt the tire fixed it, I have the 18's as well, and swapping the sets, rotating the sets around etc. never fixed it.... we shall see I suppose
  20. most states require a minimum of 3, be aware in some states, if you take a loaner vehicle it doesn't count as an attempt. once you hit the max required, you have to send a final repair attempt notice to GM, they will then set up for an "engineer" to come look at your truck, do something, then claim its fixed but in all likelihood it won't be. so you then have to work with your dealer or an attorney about doing a buyback or repurchase
  21. Sure, I'll ask the shop foreman when I pick the truck up... still not sure when exactly it will be, they said today or tomorrow, but I think they forgot to do something about the radio, so probably tomorrow or Friday
  22. The Pico just shows a graph of the sensors readings, along with what the high readings are. Atleast that is what I have come to understand from my new servicing dealer. I believe the hubs have been brought up before, but I don't recall if anyone has had them replaced or where they are manufactured. Damn, that sucks, this is my fourth attempt, I'm going to give hem until early to mid may to do whatever they want. If it's not fixed by then. It's getting lemon lawed as that will be about 1mo before my 1 year to file is up.
  23. I had those hopes too, but I guess just because they have their own opinions, doesn't mean they can do anything other than what GM allows. When the tire doesn't work, I'm sure they will try something else.
  24. haha yeaaaa and if it fixes it I'll buy another one no questions asked bahahahaha.... like thats going to happen (I'm not really going to incase anyone thought I was serious) This is going to be a wild ride I guess
  25. surprise surprise, they say its a bad tire, they ordered a new one and it will be there late tomorrow to be put on and re road tested on Wednesday or Thursday.... No word on the radio yet
