  1. GM seems to be dragging their feet with getting me the updated trade assist letter.... last week i git an email saying they would get in out in the next couple days. its now over a week later and still no letter. they have been using fedex 2 day, so I don't know whats going on.... getting really annoyed and thinking they may be playing games until I can no longer file lemon law
  2. Starting to think you work at a dealer and ask people before they even drive away hahaha
  3. WOW, 1 person says they think its 1% of trucks and thats the number you go with?!?!? There have been members who have test driven 12 trucks, and every single one had the vibration to some extent. Every loaned I've had has had it. I personally know 8 other people who are not on this forum who have vibration. Ohh and the shop foreman at the dealer I go to says "they all have it, it's just a matter of how severe" he believes it has to do with a number of things, but that the vibration is the worst on the 20" & 22" rims. but do what you think is right
  4. lol you caught me Bill, I intentionally bought a lemon just to come here and be all unhappy haha wow, 1 WHOLE WEEK of testing, phew, glad someone is doing such a long term test. I mean, its not like the vibration for most peope shows up a few hundred or even thousands of miles after purchasing their truck... try again 1) it affects '14 and up, yes every trim level is affected 2)No, GM is not recognizing this as a problem, unless you complain enough, make them attempt to repair it enough, go through a final repair attempt, and threaten to or file lemon law with the state, BBB, or Attorney General. After my final attempt I called and said that I wanted to offer them one last opportunity to buy my truck back before I filed lemon law, they didn't do it over the phone, but a few days after I got a letter offering to do a Trade Assist for the full MSRP of my truck. 3) see above
  5. facts are facts. He brought up JD Power and how they gave GM "top in initial quality" I just feel everyone should know exactly what it takes to get that, excuse me for providing people relevant information to expand their knowledge. now if JD Power had given GM the award for VDS, then we may be talking a different story, but that is not the case, and VDS is based on 3 year old vehicles. I never said every GM is a lemon now did I?
  6. Not to start World War 9878687420 with you now, but look at how JD power started, http://www.jdpower.com/about-us/history they had "clients" in auto manufacturers. I personally don't trust or care what any of the "major" reviewers say. I go by news articles, small time reviewers, and forums. these are the only places you get the real truth. JD Power is bought just like Consumer Reports, BBB, etc. by the way. the JD Power ratings are based on repairs within the first 3 years of a vehicle being manufactured, meaning its older vehicles, not the current new ones. see for yourself http://www.jdpower.com/industry/automotive **EDIT** sorry that was for their Vehicle Dependability Study (VDS) their Initial Quality Study (IQS) only takes the first 90 days into account... 90 whole days. I don't know about you guys, but 90 days is enough for me to buy a vehicle based on it hahaha. Like I said, JD Power is a joke.
  7. wouldn't that be something lol
  8. that is not the issue with the people here haha yea.... I may or may not have been some of those posts It's not very often I give SnoringBear any credit, but I can say that a few weeks ago i took a Ram 1500 Laramie Limited with the air ride suspension, and it had a vibration similar to that of the GM trucks, although not quite as bad. I've driven a number of other Ram and Ford trucks, and none of those had the vibration, so that one could have just been an anomaly. Although I am nervous about those brands for other reasons now. Once I finish my buy back, I have all but decided to take that new truck, and trade it for a Tundra Don't know what tires they put on, but it will come back, that I can assure you, it may take a couple hundred miles, but it will come back. I've had the tires replaced on my truck a couple times now, and it always comes back. What size rims do you have, and are they GM rims? the foreman at my shop believes the vibration is worst in the 20" and 22" rims, and occurs due to a lack of support in them. To me that means low quality lol
  9. lol SillyBear, I love it, why didn't I think of that? havn't had much to say really, been going back and forth with GM, and nobodys been on here talking so not much to reply to haha
  10. Well after going back and forth with GM a bit via email, I accepted a trade assist offer contingent upon the approval of the full compensation of all accessories and warranties on my truck. It will not cost me anything, and I am just waiting for the updated offer letter now. Still very nervous about another GM, and don't know which one I'll be getting. H*ll may even go straight to anther Brand and dump it with 40 miles on the clock, still havn't decided that yet.
  11. good lookin truck bud! congrats
  12. http://alpine-usa.com/product/view/x108u the only direct fit replacement that I know of. save yourself the headache and swap yours with this.
  13. http://www.gmc.com/sierra-denali-pickup-truck.html watch the "crafted interior" video "and shear style hydraulic body mounts to reduce vibration" well now....
  14. After my final repair attempt, I took my truck to Sullivan tire to have get everything checked so i could have proof in arbitration. I also had them rotate the tires to test that exact thing. I can tell you if they are balanced properly and the RFB numbers are about equal, you won't notice much if any difference. ***EDIT*** if your tires are not truely round, and they have a hop to them, rotating them may make a difference, as would if the rim isn't round
  15. I agree that I likely wouldn't lose as much, should the unspeakable happen, but that being said. from all of the research I've done, the Denali seems to have the least number of reported vibration issues..... so pairing that with the 6.2L would be the least likely to vibrate.... and it would be work a lot more than the SLT just because it is the Denali.
  16. Yea, thats kinda how I'm looking at it. Either way, I'm still terrified of getting another vibrating truck. theres a thought lol. If they don't put it into production pretty quick I'll just file lemon law. Unfortunately there is no law requiring anything to be reported. Anything you see on a carfax or any other report is what was submitted voluntarily by the shop. Unfortunately, I think I'm going to have to go this route.... maybe a 2017 6.2 Denali won't have any issues .... it'l cost me a bunch of money, itll cost less than what I'd lose trading mine in now though.... or I could get a 2017 SLT fully Loaded and pay nothing.... what to do, what to do
  17. no idea, good question lol, could save me alot of money
  18. If I take the offer, I will be trying to switch to sierra because I don't like the new look of the Shakerados.
  19. F*CK the CRAPYONS lol, tiny *ss thing isn't a truck, it is a lunch box
  20. No, I'm scared to death of it. but at the same point, there is no guarantee in Lemon Law, even though I have enough information that should basically guarantee it, and if I try to get rid of my truck on my own, I'm out a sh*t ton..... so IDK what to do
  21. Sooooo I got a letter from GM today offering a full price trade assist.........
  22. sorry man, thats terrible
  23. can you post the actual link, those wont work Toyota (specifically Tundra) is far more American than GM, as FogDucker says below. I believe the Tundra Crew Cabs are even higher than 60% American though. I agree with Severado, bring it back and say you changed your mind. get rid of that POS I believe the crew cabs have even more American Parts and Assembly Drive it into a ditch and have your insurance buy you something that actually works lol... seriously though, Pinion angle has been brought up alot, I don't remember anything specific about results from messing with it though.
  24. I've never heard 15 lbs ever, thats half the industry standard
