  1. It was great, best of any of the vehicles I’ve ever owned!!! GM(3), Nissan(1), Ford(2) or Audi(2). Unfortunately I was involved in an accident and it got totaled, so I’m currently in an Audi.... wanted to get another, but decided it was too much for driving into the city for work, needed something smaller.
  2. HEY! SB! how ya been bud?
  3. Almost a year since my last login, and only 33 new pages.... I’m disappointed in y’all. hows everyone doing?
  4. I don’t [emoji23] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Sheesh, where’s everyone at? Can’t imagine this thread is that dead and everyone gave up!
  6. Hey all, long time not talk! Hope everyone is doing well and maybe found some form of solution for themselves.
  7. Yes, they did very good by me. they actually valued the truck higher than I came up with. I also got new vehicle replacement so I got an additional 6k on top of it. Hey SB, yes, it definitely was my lucky day. The 2017 Denali I got after my Silverado had the magnetic ride.....I had it for a week before trading it for the ford. I was informed by the sales manager at the Ford dealer that the person who bought it had the same vibration and is now suing GM over the truck. I had my suspicions when I was driving it. Glad its not my headache though... I'm actually leaning toward getting a fully loaded Audi A4, driving into Boston is a major PITA with a truck, not to mention the Audi costs 21k less and gets about double the fuel economy. I'd use the money for other things haha.
  8. Good to know, I noticed a shake in the last 3 rams I test drove, both coil and air had it. They were short drives, and it seemed like it was going away the more we drove. I'm not willing to risk that and deal with it again. Ram is out.
  9. Thanks SB. It's unfortunate about the truck, but atleast I'm ok. I have prices for a new near identical 2018 F150 = 56,748 A 2017 Platinum (not like my old truck) = 54,930 A new 2017 Ram Limited fully loaded = 47,490 if I finance through chrysler not sure what I'll end up doing, I liked them both but I thought I'd be getting a better deal on the ram after factoring in the below invoice and incentives from my corporate discount.... Thanks for the info. I test drove both the air and the coils tonight, and the Air was definitely a better ride. Just about anything is better than a truck with the shakes.
  10. From what I've read they have been pretty rock solid, and are number 1 or 2 in a lot or reviews. A couple of my neighbors have them and love them. Just wanted an opinion from someone here who has the shakes with their truck. Congrats on the Camaro! I'm just concerned with the old corrosion issues that they used to have.
  11. Yes, I'm ok... to the amazement of everyone. Thanks for asking... cops, fire dept, paramedics, and tow truck driver all pulled up expecting me to be seriously injured or dead.... I was up, walking around perfectly fine. I credit driving a truck with saving my life. Snapped the front cross member of the frame, snapped the front axle, ripped the passenger side suspension out, windshield and passenger side windows cracked, cracked the windshield pillar, buckled the roof, the cab got pushed back into the bed, the engine was pushed into the firewall and the motor mount broke, the side rails of the frame bent and the cab is crooked.... hit so had even the rear bumper split apart. I agree with the look, but I think I could live with it for a $20k savings over Ford.... I'll never own another GM. I think i posted a while back that the Denali I traded for my ford is now going through the same process I went through on the Chevy.
  12. You don't like your F150 anymore? No thats not it. Was in an accident and its totaled. Can't get a good enough deal on an 18.... can save about $20k getting a Ram Limited.
  13. Who on here decided to replace their truck with a Ram? Thinking about getting one.
  14. Hey Guys and Gals, Long time no see. Just figured I'd stop by and see how this train wreck of a product was going. Glad to see some people figured out their own was of getting a resolution. Hopefully more people can figure out their own way. As for me, I'm still loving my 2016 F-150. Radio is great, ride is amazing, looks bad ass. Just a phenomenal truck all around. Hope everyone is doing well, I'll be checking back a little more frequently now. Not being a part of this train wreck anymore makes it a lot easier to come back and watch this sh*t show.
  15. Who could that have been? I'm a Mechanical Engineer... Here is the ASME code of ethics. https://www.asme.org/getmedia/3cd4a989-d024-47cd-93b7-74cf6b257977/Student-Design-Competition-Engineering-Code-of-Ethics.aspx ASME requires ethical practice by each of its members and has adopted the following Code of Ethics of Engineers as referenced in the ASME Constitution, Article C2.1.1. 16. yea, I got a Ford
  17. Actually, Tires and every other part will change their characteristics as you drive there are different stresses, temperatures pressures etc on every single part which will change the characteristics even minimally but still a change. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that tires are or aren't the issue, I don't know what is and I don't believe tires have anything to do with it. I'm just talking from an engineering stand point. Someone would have to go back and look for it, but I believe I did an analysis of what a few oz of additional weight on the outer edge of a rotor/ axle flange in rotation would correlate to. If I recall correctly, based on whoever it was that posted the weight of material was taken off of theirs after having them turned on a lathe, it became the equivalent of having a 15lb weight spinning on the outter edge.
  18. NO WAY... Did I just read this right? ABOMINABLE Z71 might join the FERD club? Never thought I'd see the day! As for waiting a few thousand miles, didn't a couple people already swap for the Yukon Axles? If I remember right it help 1 of the people but not the rest, however many others there were.
  19. I'm in some.... But this train wreck is too interesting to not keep an eye on. We paid our dues with this issue. we can be here if we want. Actually they did change the ecoboost. I researched the h*ll out of it before getting one. The major issue of condensation/water forming was resolved with a changed intake But he likes us all so much. don't ask him to leave! @Bill, how long was it until your shocks were gone?
  20. WOW congrats, they figured out a new method of welding dissimilar metals, not like the first patent for that was filed in 1911 or anything. hahaha took them long enough. Aluminum has been used for panels on vehicles for a long time... first debuted in 1899 and guess what.... you guessed it, held together with rivets/ fasteners/ and adhesives. I'm sure that it'll be just fine. By the way.... Air planes... yea those are mostly aluminum and held together with rivets/adhesives/fasteners.
  21. No whistle here, its quieter than the 15 Silverado and the 17 Sierra Denali I had, and I have full 4 door not the suicide double cab..... Also I don't have to worry about any body rust, can tow and haul more weight and have no other issues. By the way.... GM is allegedly going to AL in the next generation soooo I mean theres that. and after bashing Ford for it mind you.
  22. when I had my 15 Silverado i saw about a 4-5 MPG loss when deactivating the AFM system when towing it lost anywhere from 4-6 MPG. Now My ecoboost can pull a trailer with equipment and only lose about 1 MPG hahaha and I have no AFM to deal with and no shake
  23. just like with power equipment.... function over form!
  24. I want to say that its a better paint, but I honestly have no idea. I did have a few hairline scratches in the clear coat on my truck but the detail got them out... or hid them lol have you ever done a clay bar or had it professionally detailed? I get my vehicles detailed 1-2 times a year (every spring and sometimes in the fall depending on my schedule) and I maintain it myself the rest of the year. A good clay bar with a polish and wax applied and a buffer will go a long long way. if you don't already have one, get a grit guard for your wash bucket and have a different set of towels for drying and washing, don't mix them. Another thing is to make sure you use an actual car soap. Standard dish soap like many people use will strip the wax that has been applied which will end up hurting the paint. The only time you should ever consider using a dish soap is if you're intentionally trying to strip the wax and intend to reapply it right away. Driven Perfection - I got their Stage 2 Complete - Does Interior and Exterior for $245 (I live in Massachusetts) I used the location in your profile to check out a few detailers in your area. These guys seem to be really good, check out their Complete Exterior Detail Package or their Full Service Detail (Basically the Stage 2 Complete Package I got that does Interior and Exterior). First Class Auto Detailing If your feeling really ambitious and have a little extra cash to throw around check out the ceramic pro coating. a buddy of mine owns a different shop than the one I went to, its too far away for me to use, but he LOVES these ceramic coatings, they are expensive though.
  25. Post 35% front tint (max legal) and detail yesterday. Loving that deep black reflection! Sorry about the pics. I had to compress them to get them uploaded so they don't look as good as it really does.
