So after sleeping on it I decided to go for the buyback. Thanks for the response from everyone! Your all correct. It's just not worth the chance and funny enough the service manager and sales person agreed with me. Spoke with sales manager and he said no problem. He's seeing DM today and for me to call GM and have them call him to confirm everything which I did. According to him this should be short and sweet. My only concern is the 2 payments ($1400) which I'll fight for. Probably worth the loss to get out of this mess! As of today, 71 days owned, 31days of that was in service. Almost all of the other 40 days has been waiting for service calls. 1712 miles, Not by choice I put a 1000 miles on it (only vehicle). The rest is from back n forth to dealer and test drives. Thanks again for everyone's input... Really appreciated it... Will update thanks again for response from everyone.

Just left dealer..getting even trade. Msrp for Msrp. Tried to deduct for mileage but have none. Tried to deduct from day problem occurred. Had documentation it started on day one. Upgrading to 2016 2LT . Msrp is $54,045. Old Msrp is $50,875. $3,170 more minus 2 loan payments of $700 = $1,770 plus tax out of pocket. So if all works out when the time comes it should cost me no more then $45k out the door. They're getting new truck from another dealer stock. It was a big concern between service manager, sales manager and I about the new truck vibrating. Agreed I could drive it for a day before I buy. If it happens down the road it looks like I'll be starting all over again ( hopefully not ). I think it's worth the chance. Update as it happens.

Only have 1688 miles on it.. Approx 530 miles of that from service..find out tues..

Service manager called. Said to come pick out a new truck. He received a email stating that this morning. Also said after I decided on a truck the numbers would be worked out. Not getting to excited about anything yet. Hopefully we're talking Msrp for Msrp. Nobody could answer that for me. If not, I have no choice but to go lemon law. Got mine for 25% off and I went over budget. Msrp was $51k paid $41,500 out the door..want the exact same truck if I go this route. That was the whole point of buying it in the first place (my dream truck) was the deal! Salesman is looking for one as we speak. Update soon..

Posted Yesterday, 07:18 PM FINALLY AFTER A YEAR OF FIGHTING AND TWO TRUCKS GM IS REPURCHASING OUR SIERRA!!!! This has been a long crazy road and we are finally free! For those of you who haven't seen our story - we had a 2014 Silverado rally 2 that shook violently. We agreed on a replacement vehicle and picked up our 2015 Sierra on September 1st. About 1000 miles in it started to exhibit the same vibration. After waiting and waiting we finally received our response. GM will be buying back our truck!!! WE'RE FREEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!! You and Jesse D like this Unlike CONGRATULATION!!! So happy for you...

Posted Today, 05:44 PM Why do you need to start the truck to move the seat, don't the seats move without the truck running? Wanted to listen to some music while I cleaned.. Truck is new to me. Still learning as you can tell. Last truck is 22 yrs old w/ no options..

Thanks for response. Good to know..

So after having my truck back and finally driving it around I ended up finding a couple more issues! Yes it still vibrates!!! When I took a friend( 30yr mechanic ) for a ride to show him the vibration ( he couldn't believe it ) we both heard a very annoying ticking sound coming from the back. About 5mins later we found it was coming from the headliner. Only stops when you push hard on it. When stopped while in gear there's a skip in the idle. You can see it in rpm and the whole truck shakes. Drove it at night for the first time Wednesday and wow do the headlights suck. Looks like time to read the headlight forum. And here's my favorite! Opened passenger door and reached over and started truck so I could move seat to vacuum. Put the radio on. When done, reached over and shut off, pulled key out, radio was still going. Didn't think anything of it. Closed door and as I walked back toward my house. While walking I hit the lock on remote twice and heard the beep.( assumed it would shut the radio off) 10 minutes later my wife said, do hear music? Went outside, sure enough the radio was still playing in the locked, keyless and shut off truck. I was planning on doing lemon law Monday but have decided to bring it back in and see if they can fix these things along with the vibration, at the same time building my case even more. My attorney agreed the more documentation the better..as long as I keep getting a rental it's only costing me time. It's costing GM a lot more then that.. Keep posting as needed..

Update 2/23 received call from new service department . Service manager spoke with his director, won't take it in without GM approval. Afraid they won't get paid for work they'll do ( which will be RFB all over again ).Gave phone number to call GM and request for GM engineer to come drive it. Was told again, these trucks frames are just to stiff.. Called number. Basically started over with new GM advisor. Turns out my case was closed on 1/26 while the truck was still in service. Was told if I'm being denied service that they know there's not a fix. Made it clear I'd like a buyback. Gave till Friday for someone to contact me, if not I'm filling lemon law on Monday. Ct lemon law is 4 visits and/or 30 cumulative days. Have 31 days, 2 visits + denied service at 2 dealers. Have a lemon law attorney who agrees it's enough to win case. As of today 52 days of ownership 31 days straight in service 13 RFB tires not counting 8 off new trucks on lot. Getting a buyback from GM....PRICELESS!!! ( I wish )

2/18 Just left new dealer. Head service tech went for long ride with me and agreed there's a vibration. Service manager said he will call me Monday. Has to discuss with his director if they'll take it in. ??? He's on vacation till Monday. Didn't really care what has been done to it already. Said they would have to start from scratch and RFB all over again. Again SPEACHLESS! Till then folks.....

Update. Purchased 1/4/16. 31 days straight in service. 2/18 picked up 1hr ago... NO CHANGE WHAT SO EVER!!! Went through 13 tires to meet GM specs. Not counting trying tires n wheels from 2 new trucks on lot. Last 3 tires where shipped directly from Goodyear because other tires didn't meet GM specs Cost GM $1100 for rental and who knows how much more for everything else. Service manager doesn't know what to say. ( again great guy ) Taking it to ANOTHER dealer.
-
Think we need to start a new thread...HOW MANY DAYS AT DEALER
-
Update Purchased 1/4. 25 days straight at dealer. 2/11 service manager called. Tried 5 more tires to replace the 2 that were not up to GM's spec. Took for test ride and sent pico results to GM.. All did not meet GM's spec's. GM is calling Goodyear to see what's going on. If I'm correct that's 11 new tires that are no good. Feel bad for service manager (great guy) he wants to figure out what's wrong so bad but his hands are tied. I'M SPEECHLESS

Update 1/4 purchased. 12 miles on it. Put 250 personal miles on it. 33 days of ownership. 19 days in shop. 2/5 service manager called. 2 of the 4 perfectly RFB tires don't meet GM specs. Tires will be in Monday. COME ON GM!!! JUST BUY IT BACK!!! FIRST PAYMENT NOT DUE TILL FEB 16TH!!! PLEASE..

Update Day 12 in shop. 615 miles. Purchased 1/4/16 1/29 service manager called, come test drive. Went for ride on highway and no differance what so ever. Exact same as when I brought it in. He sat in passenger seat and agreed. RFB numbers was great on all tires. Even tried 18" wheels n tires off new truck on lot (same brand tires) and 20" off new truck on lot (different brand tires). No differance. Tires n wheels have nothing to do with this. Said he would call GM and see about getting a engineer out. A 100 miles in test drives put on truck in 12 days. Again, this service manager is outstanding to deal with and is trying. With that said, Was so excited to see and drive my dream truck! Unfortunately the new truck feeling is gone.

It's funny how things work. For me this is my dream truck that I could never afford till I came across the deal I got and went over my max to buy it. My wife is also making 5yr sacrifice for me to have this. I have a 22yr old Chevy pick up that runs perfect but the frame rusted out. To bad it did, would've never went shopping..also thinking about starting a new thread of people that have test drove new trucks and found same issues. document what dealer, what truck by vin, so people will know to avoid. What do you think?
-
No I haven't. Ct lemon law is 4 visits for same problem. 30 cumulative days in the shop. The service manager I'm dealing with is outstanding and deserves a chance. If this doesn't resolve it that's my next step. I did speak with a lemon law attorney after I spoke to GM rep and he told me once the paperwork was sign I was stuck. The dealer, by choice could take it back but there's no law that says they have to. Also spoke to 2 close friends who happen to work at Honda and Subaru. Both said they not taking these trucks in for trade unless they get them dirt cheep.

Update 1/25 service manager called. GM approved 4 new tires. Ordered them. Call me Tuesday after test drive. 1/26 GM rep called to follow up. was calling service manager for update. 1/26 stopped by dealership late afternoon. Still waiting for tires. Call me Wednesday after test drive. 1/27 service manager called. 2 of 4 new tires are no good. RFB numbers were way off. Ordered 2 more. Maybe later today will have them. Will test drive first then call me. Day 9 in the shop. Service manager is excellent to deal with..no BS and to the point. With that said, IF YOUR READING THIS GM, PLEASE BUY BACK AND LET ME MOVE ON. SAVE YOURSELF SOME MONEY! 1ST PAYMENT NOT DUE TILL MID FEB!

Update 1/22 service manager called. Did pico test. Believes it's the tires. Sending out to RFB. Will send results to GM. Probably replacing 1-4 tires depending on what they say. Will call me Monday. So far owned it 19 days, minus driving to both dealers I put 250 miles on it and a total of 5 1/2 days in the shop. If by chance RFB fixes it I'm doing everything in my power to get there best extended warranty for free. Believe that would be fair. Update on Monday

New to forum. Did not know about vibration issues when I purchased. 1/4/16. bought new 15 Silverado exetened cab ltz 4x4 6.2. 20" wheels. Live 40 mins from dealer. Msrp 51k paid 38.5k. Did not test drive, 12 miles on it. Drove home was shaking. All tires 5lbs low.. 1/5. Next day filled properly. Drove back n forth to work only. 2 miles away. 1/9. Following Sat drove across state and it was bad. My daughter was in back and started feeling sick. Wife in the front same. Could feel the seat vibrating. 1/11. Went to dealer 4 minutes from me and was told I'd have to go where I bought truck. Balancing falls on them but anything else they would take care of. Went to dealer I purchased from. Took me right in.312 miles on it. 2hrs later was told by service tech, could feel it the minute he drove it. RFB all tires and said it's fine. Took a short ride with him and could still feel vibration. He said the tires that are on it are aggressive and that's what I feel.( and said a lot more bs) Done with him, Asked for paperwork and was told its to new for that..had it at this point and walked out. Vibrated all the way home. Got home and noticed grease on door, handle, carpet, mat covered, window frame. Took pics. That night did a search and saw this forum. Wow. Would never bought it. Lesson learn. 1/12 call GM.( very nice person) Explained everything, 3way call with service manager 4 minutes from me and said to bring it in Monday. Said Chevy changed the frame in 2013 and that's when these problems started. Also GM rep said to get paperwork from first dealer. 1/14 picked up paperwork, RFB one tire and had no results of that. Have doc. Really! 1/18 dropped off truck at dealer next to me. 515 miles . Gave him paperwork and told me unfortunately they did nothing to it. Can't submit a claim to GM without results of RFB. Said he would do his best to fix this. Has delt with issue before and has a pico meter. Beyond nice person to talk to and explained in detail what he's gonna do. 1/20 dealer called and getting me a rental. Nothing said so far about truck. Will keep up to date with everything. Hope they can fix it. Really love this truck.. Lot more detail to story but trying to keep it short and to the point.
