  1. Explain what you mean by this please, did you have it serviced and if so what was done to fix it Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Have a new boot on my truck and it’s fixed!! I have been trying to figure this out for ever 2 damn years, we have gone through so many damn scenarios and tried so many things here on the forum but it’s finally over EDIT: noise is back. The replacement boot did not change much. Still unfixed, I hit bumps and it comes and goes. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. You know, I’ve been trying to figure this out for years! The steering boot has to be the fix, when the dealership replaced my steering sensor from a clicking noise it made the sound was gone for a month, I thought maybe it just worked itself out. It returned later and we tried replacing the vacuum pump and fuel line check valve, it probably stopped because they messed with that steering column! I’ll show this bulletin when I bring my truck in next time, this has to be the fix! I’m so damn happy the noise is going to be gone, it was driving me absolutely insane Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. You will for sure need to use the arms, there have been reports of ball joints popping out the top of the stamped arms with leveling kits which is why the arms are starting to be included on leveling kits for them. They are junk, I wish GM never would use them again. It should ride a little better with the arms since it will have a more neutral ball joint angle. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. While I understand and agree that it’s annoying, we all can agree it’s most likely harmless. I think it’s a little excessive to trade it in over the noise, but it’s your truck and money. I’m gonna drive it till something expensive breaks after warranty and trade it in. Mine is paid off in a couple years so seems more worth to wait till I own it and don’t have to pay back the loan when I go for the next truck. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. I know that’s what is in the tsb but I’m saying I’ve seen a line like that underneath the truck also. I hope it is the fix but I’m not holding my breath either now since packerchev said it didn’t help his. Did you listen to this at idle? Cause mine is quiet until I’m in drive pressing the gas, it does it every once in a while on a cold start up though. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Please don’t forget to update us!! I’m going Wednesday and might not mention it if you didn’t get it resolved. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. I could have sworn I’ve seen a fuel check line exactly like the one in the TSB underneath the truck driver side right where the sound comes from, I bet that’s the source of the noise. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Yep that’s it. I really don’t think it’s anything to do with the engine, It has to be that fuel pressure check valve or exhaust. This is on every motor across the half ton GM segment, I’ve heard the 6 cylinder do it and 5.3 and 6.2 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Here’s a video of mine, turn the volume up so you can hear Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Link doesn’t work for me Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. I think the fix is that check valve it makes the most sense to me. It’s a very distinct sound, I’m going to have my dealer perform the tsb sometime in the near future and see what happens. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. I think the problem is in that check valve.. what I also think is a problem is many of us are thinking this “ticking” are different things based on our own perception. Some may be talking about the distinctive noise of the direct injected motor, but the sound I’m talking about is very fluid like/air like. It’s gotta be exhaust or fuel related and it comes only from the footwell of the cab and will stop and start on a dime at random and can be triggered by bumps. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. I would go 285/55r20 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. It’s jostling that causes it to come and go. I’ve had to slam on brakes before and that caused it to start then I hit a bump later and it goes away. I’ve heard it ticking and then just completely stop out of nowhere Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. And therefore rub more on your fenders Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Where is it located? I’ve heard a lot of members try that and it didn’t work Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. I think it’s the transmission, somebody already has had their lifters replaced and it did nothing Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. This is the same sound we are all discussing. It’s not a loud clacking, it’s that exhaust leak sound from the driver side footwell. It’s definitely load dependent and also is affected by bumps, and I’ve noticed more prevalent in the summer vs winter. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Starting to think packerchev is on to something and this could be the transmission possibly making this sound. Members have been going to great lengths with the motor and other motor accessories being replaced and it did not resolve the issue. The transmissions in these trucks have had tons of issues so it wouldn’t surprise me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. 285/55 should be fine, I wouldn’t go anything above that though. I’m on +18 wheels and 285/55r20s with a 2.5 level and I can tell you too much bigger and I would rub. I still want to do some testing because I feel like I feel rubbing at full crank but it could just be the knobbier new tires I have now causing that sensation. I can tell you a lottt of guys will tell you no rubbing or little rubbing on the more aggressive set ups aren’t telling the full truth. If I went with a more negative offset on these it would rub for sure, and they aren’t too much bigger than stock. They definitely look great though, I can’t tell any difference really looking at these and 33x12.50 on friends trucks. Same height just a tad narrower. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Thank you! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Thanks! I’m definitely glad I went with these, they look so good in person. It was no contest here on the forum the few votes I got were these! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Thanks! It makes such a big difference, been waiting 2 years since I first bought it to do it and the truck is just so much more aggressive and good looking now, you’ll love it Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. Finally done! Went with 20x9 XD heists and 285/55 nitto ridge grapplers, it looks fantastic and also rides fantastic! I’ll get better pics later Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
