  1. Additional replies look to be futile. Seems like the OP is another one hit wonder. He hasn't been back since he made the post.
  2. I do own an affected 6.2l and I trade every 2-3 years but if I were one that holds on to a vehicle longer that special warranty extension would be great. In my case, I'm going back to a diesel again for the cheaper fuel cost and better mpg. NOT, because of this engine deal. There are a mess of 6.2l equipped trucks and SUV's in my sub and I see them tooling around daily. The vast majority of owners will have trouble free engines. GM just needs to get their act together and replace a blown engine quickly with high priority. If they can get owners back on the road with a replaced engine within a 2-3 week time period I see no need for panic. F150's also blow engines. Rams blow engines. I flew to Detroit from Florida and bought a 1999 F150 Lightning the first month it was out. Drove it back to Florida and the engine went south during my first month of ownership. Ford sent a complete engine, oil pan to supercharger, and I was back in the truck within 3 weeks. I was disappointed, sure but the truck never gave me another issue after. Anyway I'm good with the recall. And, I think it will be a selling perk to used buyers going forward. I'll be trading mine and don't expect any trade dings on the appraisal because of it.
  3. So there's an official recall. https://www.gm-trucks.com/gm-l87-62l-engine-recall-2021-2024-silverado-sierra-escalade-tahoe-suburban/
  4. You seem to be having a radio issue not navigation It could be a siriusxm issue if it's happening when you are listening to it. If it's happening with fm, too, then it's a radio system issue you should take to the dealer and get it handled under warranty. There is a reprogramming update that has been done to earlier refresh trucks.
  5. Just what are you hearing? Obviously not directions.
  6. I misunderstood your first thread. Yes, the music will mute when you are using navigation. No way to mute the navigation prompts as far as I know. No different than my Rams, Corvette, Camaro, F150. To be honest, if I'm using navigation, I'm wanting to hear what lane I need to be in or upcoming turns.
  7. Mine mutes the music while the navigation is prompting the next turn or whatever. Same for when I receive a text or phone call.
  8. Responded to a "one hit wonder"...... Kind of like you guys (bots) are when responding with "your concerned" replies that never go anywhere or resolve issues. Or update with resolutions to customer you're so concerned about. Now I see the bot responded to the one hit wonder again. This is the same stuff that is on 5th Gen Ram. Ford dropped their social media group on the F150 forums this year. Same thing.... Nothing comes of it.
  9. I don't have any real #'s but I don't think it's even close to 1%. Probably closer to. 01%. I wouldn't have an issue taking the slim chance of a failure IF.... GM would replace them quickly. Or at least provide a n/c replacement until the repair has been completed. I personally don't figure there will be a Toyota-like engine recall. But, I'm down to one "driver" from 3 before I retired. When I had 3, one getting tied up for repairs was no problem. Now it is. And I've ordered a twin to my truck except for the engine which will be the 3.0l baby Duramax.
  10. I get your feelings and with 4,000 miles that would be the best thing to do for the customer. If...there was an equal truck laying around. The OP should push for a replacement with the delivering dealership and GM help. Now in my case, I have a 20,000 plus mile truck. GM shouldn't replace mine with new, if mine decided to scatter the engine. Just give me some wheels while I'm without the truck. I have a replacement on order and it looks like it'll be a 3 plus month wait.
  11. Best of luck. GM should be providing a no charge courtesy truck in these cases.
  12. The tariffs won't affect my order. Price protected upon acceptance. But, I was just told my build date slid another week to May. Oh well....
  13. I ordered a 2025 GMC about a month ago. It initially had a build week of April 14th which slid to week of April 28th. You need to make sure your dealership has allocation available before you order. That means you need to speak to the Sales Manager or General Manager. This tariff uncertainty is probably not helping right now.
  14. 2wd 99% of the time for me. If I need to run errands or have appts in sloppy snowy weather, it's 4 auto.
  15. This thread went....
  16. How are you liking the 3.0l? I have a 2025 Denali Ultimate on order to replace my 2023.
  17. No question that the vast majority are in fact troublefree but since I've downsized from 3 daily drivers to one, I don't have a fallback driver for weeks and maybe months because the engines are on galactic backorder. Stuff breaks and that's what warranties are for but the repairs should be completed in a timely fashion.
  18. I'm assuming you've taken a damp towel to it. Maybe try some automotive leather cleaner.
  19. I'm figuring if I don't like it I'll swap out a little early. I just wish the 6.2l would get warrantied in a timely fashion if they do go south.
  20. I mess more with my Chevelle but you don't need to be a modder to participate in forums. 5th gen Ram and 14th gen F150 forums are packed with posts daily. I just looked at 14th gen F150. I hadn't logged in for 2 days and there were 15 pages of new posts that's pages not posts. Silverado Sierra has a lot of action but it has no generation breakouts. I hadn't looked at 5th gen Ram for a week. 10 pages of new posts. Just bellyaching...
  21. This is dying out. I leave the site for a day and come back to maybe 4-5 new posts in this 2019-2025 section.
  22. You don't indicate your location but Detroit Wheel and Tire carries oem wheels in black, pvd chrome and black chrome. They offer decent prices when you turn in your existing wheels. Look at their website and see what they have. https://www.detroitwheelandtire.com/
  23. True, but when the NHSTA gets involved there's more to it than some keyboard warriors.
  24. I'm figuring it's a dual light led. It doesn't know what color it's using. I also guess they'll fail together. But, what do I know.... Not concerned at this point. I'm going to transfer the harness to the new truck I ordered.
  25. I decided to order a 3.0l this morning. I like the 6.2l but I don't trust it. If there wasn't a big delay on repairs, I wouldn't have any issues. But right now, if one goes, it'll be weeks waiting for a replacement.
