  1. I believe project farm did a test on anti rust coatings, possibly specifically for frames if you don’t know project farm youtube channel, you should he’s like consumer reports, only better, for tools and diy products. He tests tools and chemicals.
  2. Wow what? Jesus you sure are sensitive. See ya pal.
  3. couple problems here. -the l86 dynos around 330whp stock, I’ve seen like 100 graphs. No idea where you got 360 from, but you are dead wrong. It’s the same long block, once you replace all the pieces that are different with the l86 vs lt1, which is what fbo/e85 would do, logic says your horsepower increase would be the same. Lol at the me tuning it comment. I don’t tune them. But if you want those kind of gains, go check out pray performance. Also I said 30-35%, your figure is 36%. Yes, fbo with e85, you’ll probably dyno at 430ish whp. Take it to pray he’ll get you more. That’s ported or msd manifold, e85, headers, full exhaust, cai, and throttle body. The entire breathing path before and after the heads.
  4. Screw that, I’m converting to electric as soon as it makes sense. it’s better at literally everything except long distance driving, (or circumstance that requires you to twiddle your thumbs while it charges) The internal combustion engine is an insane orgy of precision moving parts. Imagine if it was never invented and it was proposed today, every engineer on earth would think the concept is nuts. Hell I’m still amazed it actually works. Electric is so much simpler.
  5. Fbo/Cam/e85 is like 35-45%, with head porting up to 50%. you can get from 400whp to 600whp with pretty basic stuff. by basic I mean no exotic head work or components, a street cam, stock internals. beyond 600 it gets expensive fast. My dream build is a c7 grand sport convertible with the 600whp build. Probably end up being like 550whp with pump gas though. I don’t have e85 around here.
  6. Want to get PDR for the dent. Not sure if there is access through the wheel well. I took out the liners once before but don’t remember how much access there is. Anybody familiar with this area? That’s front passenger side if it matters. thanks!
  7. Well hopefully you don’t mean shelby of ssc lol. SSC tuatara hit 331mph recently for a world record run and the internet found out it was BS
  8. I think you had a typo there in lt1, someone will find that info valuable in the next couple decades
  9. Really? I’ve seen comparable gains... i usually start with 330whp baseline for the truck and 400whp baseline for the vette camaro bout a 30-35% gain in hp doing fbo/e85 the truck I think was factory restricted by the cai more than the other cars
  10. Oh, who would want to upgrade those lol Just incase the cops and traffic cameras can’t read your plate number?
  11. Eh, keep in mind, much like variable valve systems, the manufacturer has the entire power band as one of the highest priorities. Some grease monkey, well an experienced grease monkey, only interested in peak hp at the top of the power band, could likely fab one a sheetmetal one to considerably outperform the oem one. It may not be much good at anything else, but it sure will make hp.
  12. Was cleaning out basement and found these. They were including with my projector retrofit from fasthheadlights. No idea what bulbs in the truck they replace.
  13. I once bought a civic with a hole in the block. A rob had snapped. I was getting the motor replaced. I wanted to see how long it would last. I started it up at like 9-10am and let it idle. Was still going at 3pm, there was literally no oil. I shut it off because it was just wasting gas.
  14. When some said they pulled the pinecone out of the intake, thats likely dead on. Well maybe not a pinecone lol, but they probably blocked the exhaust. It would cause more loss at the top of the rev range just like the graph. 10% chance incompetence 90% chance dishonesty
  15. Just keep in mind sports car intake mani’s are designed with hood clearance being a huge issue not a factor with truck
  16. Negative i drove for 15k miles with a stuck closed trans thermostat it was stuck from the factory, i didn’t know I had a problem with it for a long time
  17. No i have 3.42 and 9.76 I don’t have max tow. Max tow should have 3.73 with 9.76 for 2014
  18. I present to you Oem 3.73’s for 9.76 https://www.justdifferentials.com/GM-9-76-K2-OEM-Ring-Pinion-Kit-3-73-Ratio-p/gm9.76k2-373-oe.htm
  19. https://cdn.dealereprocess.net/cdn/brochures/chevrolet/2014-silverado1500.pdf gm advertisement, page 20, says they do infact have a 3.73 with a 9.76 more evidence it exists
  20. Nope, just confirmed my 2014 6.2 has a 9.76, its stamped on the diff. Also confirmed with numerous other posts in this forum. From what I understand all 6.2’s are 9.76 I have the 3.42. They did offer the 2014 only 6.2 with 3.73 gears with the max tow package. Which should mean in 2014 only, you can get a 9.76” diff with 3.73’s from the factory. unless of course for the 6.2 max tow they actually went to the 9.5” diff. Which would be strange
  21. 9.76? I’m assuming thats the diff for the 6.2? They also had the 6l80, 6.2, 3.73 combo for the 2014 MY only in sierra/silverado
  22. 3.73 was offered from the factory with 6l80 max tow
