I have a 2016 Silverado with the 5.3 and I swapped the muffler and it sounds great. I bought the BOR-40349 (VP) PRO XS MUFFLER its single in dual out and put 2 BOR-20162 Black chrome tips and it looks and sounds great
I had mine cut off forward of the muffler and installed 2 Borla black chrome tips pn#
BOR-20162 $78.99 each and a Borla muffler VP) PRO XS MUFFLER pn#BOR-40349 $136.99 from Summit Racing and had it installed at a shop and total cost was about $625 parts and labor. This is about half the cost of the cat back system Borla offers. and it sounds awesome
OK guys I have done some research and read your posts and I have decided to contact BBP for some Info on what they can do for me. it's not all about the cost it's mostly because my truck is new and under warranty and I don't want to do anything that can't be undone if something goes wrong the last thing I want to do is get turned down on a warranty repair because of a tune. But I value all of your opinions so thank you all very much I will keep y'all informed on how it all goes
I believe I elaborated enough by saying "Extremely pricey" I want to get rid of the AFM add HP and change the shift points and don't really want to spend $500 doing it. all I've done is the exhaust, I went with a Borla Pro XS muffler and 2 4' black chrome Borla tips which only cost $600 installed. Don't want to go to extreme just want it to shift better and more HP. and I hate the AFM
Hey guys, I have a 2016 Z71 with the 5.3L motor, it also has Active Fuel Management. I want to get a tuner that will add HP and get rid of the AFM that also can change my shift points what would y'all recommend that isn't extremely pricey
I have a 2016 Silverado 1500 Z71 and I want to lift it, I'm looking at Rough Country's 3.5" kit (SKU:175.23) also looking at the Pro Comp 4" kit. (don't have exact model) its about double the price and the reviews on both are up and down on both sides. Any thoughts on which one is the better and why?
Alright, I have a couple questions I hope y'all can help me with.
First I have a Borla Pro XS Muffler (pn BOR-40349) with 4"black chrome tips (pn BOR-20162)
So my questions are, should I leave the 3rd cat? and should I eliminate the flex pipe?
What, if any are the benefits of removing the 3rd cat or leaving the flex pipe?
I have a 2016 Z71 Silverado 1500... I have read that changing the 195 degree thermostat to a 160 degree will increase the horsepower. However I live in Massachusetts, so how is that going to affect the heat in the winter? Will it be significant or not much?
I have heard that you can get an Active Fuel Management Disabler to remove the V4 mode if that's the case then it wouldn't matter what muffler you put on, other than your personal favorite.
Any thoughts on this subject?????
