  1. I am close to 23 000. Love mine so far. I have had a check engine light come on and it was a little hose for emissions down by the fuel tank. Nothing to do with how the truck ran. Might have let a little fuel vapors out into the atmosphere. TAKE THAT OZONE@ Anyway i too have concerns over the allidon "branded" 10 speed. Over 183,000 of these hd trucks were sold in 2024. Si I am trying not to fret over it much.
  2. Did you hit all the fittings in the front end with grease? Mine appeared dry.
  3. My 24 l8t with 10 speed makes a very faint whining or whining in what I think is 5th and 6thgear. Runs great, very smooth . I only can hear it if the radio is off and I listen for it. Hopefully normal
  4. Yeah I had a 2014 1500. It ran just under 200 all the time. Until I did the delete of the thermostat where the lines came out. I never had any trouble with it though probably because it 168k miles I had changed the fluid and filter 4 times. Still trying to decide when I am going to have the new trans serviced. 30 or 40k.
  5. When it's cooler outside driving stop and go around town or interstate 144 is pretty much as warm as my trans gets. But when it warms up outside driving around town it goes up in the 150s and 160s. Waiting in a drive thru long enough I have seen over 170. Is this normal or am I concerned over nothing? It does cool down a little when I start moving again.
  6. I probably will have a dealer do it. I just want to choose who will do it right. Any gm techs here that know correct procedures? While it's under warranty i don't want to change anything.
  7. 2024 2500 HD L8T Gasser
  8. I have a 2024 silverado 2500hd with the l8t gasser and 10 speed. Not quite 10k miles on it. I don't tow or haul a lot. A little bass boat and a 5600# camper 6-7 times a year. Manual calls for 45k trans service. I am going to do them every 40k. My question is the best/correct way to service. My dealer says pan drop and filter change. A dealer nearest me says they don't drop pan unless there is a problem. They hook lines up and I don't know if it's a flush or a transfer of all the fluid. I have always heard mixed things about a flush. So what is the best thing for the trans?
  9. Anyone ever do any underwood dress up. I have a 2024 with an l8t gasser in red hot. I was thinking the plastic covers on the intake and valve covers being red would look great and gm performance have red wires. I would rather not paint the plastic. Afraid it would not look good long term.
  10. I have a 24 since August. If I don't have the radio on lightly accelerating I can barely hear a whine/whir in what seems like 5th and 6th gear. Radio on even low volume can't hear it. Accelerating a little harder doesn't seem to be there. Hopefully normal.
  11. Hello all. Bought a new 2024 silverado 2500 with the l8t 6.6 gas engine. Dealer gave me one free service that I used monday. I have a friend with a nice pole barn with a lift. Plan on doing my own oil changes from here on. Mentioned it to service rep that I was going to put in a fumoto oil change valve next time and he said it might void my warranty. Is this true? I think he may be full of it.
