  1. so the tubes are only on the front? and the front has 3 bolts. I don't have those tubes and won't re engineer. I greatlly appreciate your time walking me through what you have. My camper arrived yesterday. still waiting on the tie downs.
  2. My springs are 2005, no overloads. the front stops look like 3 hole and the rear 4? Is that what you see?
  3. actually I did notice in your previous post it is a 3500, I'm assuming I can order the stops for the overload springs, see what length bolts are recomended and find if the overloads are sold seperate from the assembly I already have. When the seller delivered my camper his 2500 wasn't squatted in the back, he has [jounce?] bumpers. I didn't remember to look under and see if they were making contact. the 84992005,6,7,8 i'm guessing are left and right of two different weight ratings. I'll crawl under my truck and check the numbers and see if they match side to side. thanks for all your help, I'll be bothering you more later i'm sure.
  4. My I pad and this web site are battling something fierce!
  5. Exactly my concern, i was wondeRing if the bolts went all the way through the frame.
  6. The gm parts direct lists these springs for 2500 and 3500, does it not include the overload springs?
  7. This lists 8ar and 9ar, its 84992008.
  8. So you're rear axle is only good for 650 more than mine. im wondering about the rear springs that end in 07 and 08. Im guessing they get progressively heavier, since the 05 listed 2500 and 3500
  9. Thanks! Didn't mean for you to crawl under the truck! So you're 2500 has overload springs? im headed to the local dealer with this info. Change the springs and add overload bumpers.
  10. wow! i'm sure that did the job. I'm wanting to avoid airbags maintenance.
  11. i saw 84992005 was listed for 2500 & 3500,06&07 were 3500. havent figured which has the extra spring {overload) set.
  12. I'm thinking the charging rate of alternator would be determined by the size of the wire to the camper batteries. so a 12 guage wire may give 30 amps, because a trickle charger with 18 guage will eventually charge the batteries. I'll look into that. haven't weighed the truck, don't have the camper yet. I'm quite familiar with the Cat scales, thanks for that. as far as overloads, i don't have them, yet.
  13. Can I see a picture of the leaf springs?
  14. My research so far says springs are different, and no spring stops for the added pack of additional springs, im curious if the bolts go all the way through the frame for the stops.
  15. Chevy trucks for almost 30 years, last year was my first 3/4 ton . it has the snow plow prep, I wouldn't change a thing.
  16. Max payload 3477, so i should have a couple hundred pounds (not much) . gcwr is curb weight + camper + trailer? 7173 + 3037+3000 trailer = 13210. Gcwr is 24000?
  17. Ordered a Super Hitch for clearance for the truck camper, so its got a 2" and 2 1/2" stacked receivers. Class 5 hitch. looks like the bumper comes off with the factory hitch. Etrailer.com doesn't have install video. They recommend lifting the bed. was hoping for insight from experienced people. its a 22 2500 gas.
  18. 22 2500HD gas, has camper/snow plow prep. So that's a 220 amp alternator? Whats the benefits there? Stronger front springs, but is the back gonna sag with 3k on it? Do I need to beef up the rear suspension? ordered a super hitch so I can pull a 3k lb trailer, overkill? this is my first 3/4 ton truck, but this is why I bought it.
  19. My last 2 trucks I couldn't justify 4wd, finally got tired of putting weight in the bed for snow, last weeks snow and ice sure made me appreciate 4wd.
  20. I'm in americas salt belt, years ago i learned to get undercoated, the dealership would send it out for undercat before you took posesion, this would have been a warranty issue for me, I assume they know what not to spray.
  21. I'll never forget, in 1990 I got a job in the utility industry, they had a late 80's chevy 3500 dump truck with a straight 6. that was the funniest thing I have ever seen, unless I had to drive it.
  22. Ive always wondered how much good a 1200 watt heater can do to hundreds of pounds of un insulated metal, now i know how much bad it can do. im betting that will buff out. LOL
  23. Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this. so I'm in Ky near Lexington (horse country) been noticing larger horse trailers have the double axles very near the rear of the trailer, so that would greatly increase tongue weight. Wondering why.
  24. Im wondering if it's got it's own fuse?
  25. How much was it? I've wondered if I should buy some spares.
