  1. How many miles do you have now? It looks like Gm may help me with this. I'm out of warrantee, just under 70K. But I've had both lifter banks done along with the cam, leaking rear window, Trailer electical issues, AC compressor, and now the tranny. Dealer is stepping up, but it may be time to switch to a HD. Funny is my 2018 silverado had no issues until it was T-boned and totaled at 68K. Luck of the draw.
  2. So my 10 speed has started to shudder with only 70k on it. Dealer hooked up to computer and says to replace TC and valve body, but if I do am I just kicking the can down the road, and I'll end up changing the whole tranny in another 5-6k miles? Only driven manuals, so this is new ground for me.
  3. Thanks, They moved to text so this is all I have until I call in the am. Good afternoon--we were able to duplicate the issue-We graphed it with our scanner and presented the data to GM tech assistance-Their recommendation is to replace the torque converter and valve body Sounds like they just connected I to a computer and drove it, doubt they opened it yet.
  4. Update, Dealer called, said they need to replace the Torque converter and the valve body. I didn't get to talk to them so not sure if they dropped the pan and looked for shavings. I'm worried I replace these parts only to have the whole tranny go in another 5k or so. Any advice? Is there a heavy duty TC that would be better? Thanks
  5. I love my 2020 5.3 AT4 but I'm not sure it loves me. it looks like my transmission is done at just under 70k miles, it's at the dealer waiting for a diagnosis but the 10 speed has started shuddering at low load throttle (1-2k RPM) with harsher shifts and a little surging every once in a while while accelerating. I'm half hoping it just started and will be a quick easy fix, but also realizing I'm probably in for a new tranny. So what is the best replacement out there? This is my first vehicle with an auto so I don't know a lot about replacements etc. I've seen Jasper thrown around, a 3 year 100K warranty sounds good to me. I use the truck as a daily driver, if I fix it I would hope to get the truck to 150K+ miles without another major repair. Open to any suggestions out there.
  6. I do. Took it off the day I bought the truck. PM and I'll send pics this evening.
  7. Still thinking about it.... But I have the 1500, and not sure I want the 2500 for the other 20,000 miles i drive a year.
  8. Sticker says: GVWR 7000 GCWR 15000 RGAWR 3800 Curb Weight 5492 Max Payload 1508 attached a scale number, was 120 over on rear axle, since then I stopped towing with full water, switch to lithium and moved the battery off the tongue into the trailer, and went from 1000lb bars to 1500lb bars on the WDH to get back under numbers just can't find that weight slip.
  9. I'm towing a 28' toyhauler, loaded it's mid 8500lb. When I run over the scales I'm right at weight limit for tongue and rear axel. Using a 1500lb blueox WDH and it tows fine. I've had no issues. Only have 36000miles but brakes etc all are doing well. Drive in your limits, use the scales and you should be fine.
  10. So is there anything stopping us from skipping the 7-pin splitter and just using the switch to connect to a frame/bolt ground for activation? I want the switch in the bed but don't plan on adding any extra lighting that requires 12V
  11. 5.3L with the 10 speed. pulled everything with no issues, been over the mtns to West Virginia and back with no issues.
  12. I'm towing this toy hauler. 6500lb empty. Gross 10000lb. Im only loading it to about 8500lb with bikes in the back. Tows well, I have a blue ox swaypro with it. 1000lb bars but I might switch to the 1500lb bars. When I take it across the cat scales I'll right at the rear axel limit and about 100 lb under gvwr all loaded with the family. Hoping the bigger bars will move a little more weight off the rear and back on the trailer.
  13. Charlottesville VA. I'm happy to ship (included in listed price), they are in the original packaging Icon used to send them back after their refresh.
  14. Coilovers are still available. Feel free to make me an offer I can't refuse.
  15. Adding a picture of the truck with the coil overs to show the leveled stance. They are adjustable to you can adjust as needed. I'll even include the spanner wrench used for adjustment.
  16. Didn't get anything, maybe try again?
  17. Looking to get $1000 for the coilovers, and $300 for the A-arms. Willing to negotiate for a package deal. First two pictures after refresh, last picture as they were when I removed them from the truck.
  18. I sold my 2017 Silverado for a 2020 Sierra and have the Icon 2.5 coilovers and cognito upper A arms that I took off for sale. I loved them on the truck, rode great on the road, and really smoothed out the gravel roads around my area. They were on the truck for a year (20k miles) before I removed them and sold it. When I removed the coilovers I noticed a small oil leak and sent them back to Icon for a warranty refresh so everything is back to perfect and still in the Icon box. I'm looking for $1000 for the coilovers, Make on offer. Cognito A-arms are SOLD and $300 for the upper A-arms. Feel free to ask question.
  19. I have a set of icon's i'm about to put up for sale. I took them off my 17 Silverado when I got my 20 Sierra. They have about 30k miles on them but I sent them back to Icon when I took them off for a refresh so they are good to go. I also have a set of cognito upper A arms. I loved the Icons, great ride on the street, and really smoothed out the ride on gravel/choppy back roads. I still have the original boxes to ship the coilovers in if you are interested. No pics on this computer but I can post some when I get home this evening. You might even be close enough to meet somewhere and skip shipping.
  20. Surprised me too. So much for what we used to know about fixing trucks.
  21. 5.3L and the 10 speed. Really loving it so far.
