I removed the rear cover of the center console. There are 4 torx screws to remove, then just pull up towards the ceiling with 10 degree angle towards the back to release the friction clips. I then used a snake to run the wire under the carpet. It helped to remove the door sill trim and then I stuck my arm under the carpet to lift it up a little so the snake wouldn't get snagged on the carpet pad. It took about 30 minutes.

Haha, Because my 20 month old destroys the cab with food and I got tired of having to roll out the vacuum every day to clean up the crumbs.

I tied them into the reverse lights for the trailer harness so they turn on with the rest of the reverse lights. I have a light bar under the tailgate which plugs into the trailer brake harness and spliced these into the 5-pin connector. I used a CURT 56584 wiring harness so this all connects under the bumper behind the trailer brake plug so the plug on the bumper isn't being occupied and it looks cleaner.

Added two 12v outlets in the back to keep my jump starter and vacuum charged up. Got the Dyson V7 Car + Boat for $170 at Costco today.

Added Rigid Industries LED lights to the step bumper. Extremely bright.

The seat material in these trucks are definitely sub-par to any other vehicle I've owned. I have more wear and tear in my first 3000 miles than any car I've owned driven over 60,000 miles. Leather, leatherette, whatever it is it just doesn't hold well. The day I bought my truck I drove home from the dealer with my weapon holstered and it made a permanent indentation on my seat for only sitting there for 45 minutes, something that has never happened in any other vehicle I've been in. The other day my passenger was wearing a pair of jeans with a large button on the back pocket which is now tattooed into my seat.

No breaks for Verizon, unfortunately. But I think with AT&T it's $10 a month for the line access of the vehicle to share your existing data for your plan. For an extra $10 you get unlimited, and it is much easier to manage the plan through the Chevy App (On Star) than dealing with AT&T.

Yes, you could but that process takes a few minutes to do that by the time they thank you for being a customer, ask for your pin, enter the address (if you actually have the entire address) and then send it to the vehicle. Asking for a POI takes even longer. You also have to pay for that service. With Android Auto, all I say is "OK Google, navigate to Animal Kingdom in Orlando" and it immediately gets the route and only takes as long as it takes you to say the phrase. If it's a local address I don't even need to bother with the city, state, or zip, it just knows. No pushing buttons or tapping icons, just say the phrase and you're done.

I have the NAV on my 2018 as well. Using it makes me want to put a bullet through the display. Bad routing, outdated routes, PITA to enter destinations while driving, no points of interests for anything I ever search for, the color scheme reminds me of an old chart plotter on my boat, I could go on. The only advantage I see is being able to view the turn by turn in the gauge cluster. I hope one day to see Android Auto and Car Play take advantage of that additional display. If you have an Android phone and use Android Auto with Google Maps you'll never go back to anything else. It's amazing. Real-time traffic is updated much more frequently and is more accurate, the routing is better, you'll always find the POI you want, the speech recognition is amazing.

I pay the $20 a month for unlimited WiFi because for $20 a month I can stream all I want to everyone in the car as much as I want (I think after 22GB you are throttled) for an extra $20 a month on my Verizon plan, I'd only be getting 2GB more so it was definitely worth getting the Wi-Fi plan in my circumstance since I've already used 8GB each month the past two months. Plus, my daughter can use her tablet and I don't have to pay $10 a month extra to activate the cellular on it.

What gauge cluster and rearview mirror do you have?

Dealer called me today, said to come pick up my truck. After 6 full days, they have no answer and say nothing is wrong. They only started it 3 times in the 6 days for under 1 minute (probably just moving it around on their lot) and didn't even put 1 mile on the odometer.

Lowering the axle ratio (number is higher) makes the gears shorter so you can get up to RPM faster, tow more, have more low end torque, and more fun! But it reduces your MPG and you'll be revving higher in your last gear while cruising on the highway.

5pm Friday update. All techs left, didn't try changing any parts, they "have no clue" according to the advisor. I asked if they called GM and the adviser couldn't give me an answer. He said they saw the TSB I kept talking about but said it's not related. I beg to differ, it sounds exactly the same. They said keep the loaner through the weekend and they'll have an update on Tuesday. That means by EOD Tuesday it'll be in the shop for 6 full days.

Is it possible.to add power adjustable pedals to a 2018 Silverado LTZ that already has memory seats/mirrors? I'm assuming I'll need the entire assembly, wireing harness, and new buttons where the console is. Does any programming need to be done? Is this even possible? Also, do the adjustable pedals retract further towards the firewall than the stock position of non-adjustable pedals? I'm looking to retract them further in because after owning the truck for a month my right foot is a little cramped from the current angle.

Dropped it off 8am this morning at another dealer. 4:30pm and they said they don't know what it is and haven't tried replacing anything. No matter how many times I tried to give them the TSB# they refused to take it down. Picked up loander at 6pm. Adviser said they will call GM in the morning.

Google Maps let's you download map areas for offline use. Was very helpful when I was up in the mountains in Colorado last week with no service at all.

Just received the truck back from the dealer. The rear passenger door is slightly better but not perfectly to my satisfaction. They said they made some adjustments to the door alignment. There were a few other trucks on the lot with the same issue. The tailgate was fixed but now the left side requires much more force to engage the lock than the right, so you have to slam it shut, otherwise only the right will engage. It is also difficult to open with the handle because the left side has so much tension. I think I'll adjust it back so it closes nicely and just live with the gap. I checked 8 other trucks on the lot and 4 of them had the same issue. Horrible quality control.

Went to the dealership, they told me the "Tech confirmed this characteristic is normal" when I spoke to the adviser on the phone. I gave him the TSB # again and said it's not acceptable and it is clearly not normal if there is a TSB to address the issue. I insisted it be driven a little more, and a little harder, with the foreman. Adviser called me back and said "We cant duplicate it but we will perform the TSB anyways". When I get to the dealer the paperwork doesn't mention anything about parts being replaced or anything about the TSB. All it says is "Tech confirmed the noise is normal characteristic". I asked the service advisor that if they performed the TSB then why is it not documented? He said "If we documented it then GM would have to pay us on the service and this is not something we are allowed to get paid on". I feel like they didn't do anything to the truck.

My old car had a 18.5 gallon tank and I was getting about 25 mpg combined. Now I have a 26 gallon tank getting 15mpg combined. It's only a 72.5 mile difference between the two, which is one extra day of commute, but I feel like I'm filling up every 3 days instead of every 7. Maybe it's my heavy foot, maybe I have a leak

Subscribed. I'd like to know as well. Filling up twice a week is not fun, and with hurricane season approaching it would be great to have a larger tank. I'm assuming if a larger tank is possible there would need to be a way to reprogram the computer to be able to reestimate the miles to empty.

Added the Auto Ventshade 322123 Aeroskin today and replaced the front bumper camera from Intellihaul which was defective after having it a week.

He's in there pretty good. How did he get himself into that mess in the first place. Definitely not tires I'd want to have on anything but pavement.

So there's 18 pages of this but it seems like there's many different parts that were replaced. We still don't know exactly what it is? Just like the other two posters earlier today, I'm reluctant to go to the dealer because it's an entire day of my time and they'll either say it's normal, can't reproduce, within specs, etc.

I have noticed that when I hear the tick if I pull a hard left or hard right (I mean really hard) the ticking stops while I'm turning. I tested this going 40 MPH in manual gear at 4k RPM on a two lane road. I was in the right lane and then pulled hard left all the way to the left lane. The ticking was silent until I straightened out.
