I have a 2017 GMC Sierra SLT with the 20" snowflake wheels and was starting to look into a small lift (about 4 to 4.5"). I like the stock wheels and would like to keep them but I like the oversized tires to stick out a little bit past the fenders. If any of you have the stock wheels with oversized tires can you post up your pictures showing the front or rear of your truck. I've seen a number of side views in other posts but haven't seen any of the front or rear to see how it sits. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
Im looking to do my first oil change on my 2017 6.2L Gmc Sierra. It has 12k miles, bought it two months ago. I usually do Mobil 1 or Castrol with my other vehicles. But since the newer engines have an 8 qt capacity, an "oil change special" at the local parts store won't cut it. Since it is now a $75+ DIY oil change I was considering Mobil 1 Annual performance or extended performance. I drive between 18k-24k miles a year so I'm not interested at doing 3-4 oil changes a year with "regular" synthetic at 7500 mile intervals. I have heard that guys will run amsoil signature series oil for a yearly oil change. Have any of you run Amsoil in these trucks and what kind of success have you had? Coleman71 replied to FishinDVM's topic in 2014-2019 Engine, Driveline, & ExhaustI am a strong believer in preventative maintenance. I am also picky about doing fluid services myself so I know exactly what fluids are being used. With that being said, at this point what I would do is a manual cleaning. I bought my truck at just under 9,000 miles and after researching on here, by 11,000 miles I installed a catch can and did a CRC GDI service. I intend on doing a CRC every 10,000 miles. At this point with your truck, After a manual cleaning is done, I would start to use CRC. If you use it before it can loosen larger pieces of buildup and throw a code and clog a cat.
Coleman71 replied to PickUpNoobie's topic in 2014 - 2018 Chevy Silverado & GMC SierraI bought my 17 SLT premium plus crew cab short box 2wd 6.2L 8spd in December for $36k with 8700 miles. I love my truck, I adjusted the AFM and installed a catch can to possibly aide with some common worries/ issues with the newer style trucks. I've got plenty of power, (6.2) comfort (leather, heated seats, dual climate), options (sunroof, brake controller, LEDs, etc). Would do it again in a heartbeat Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
Update: I have since installed a dual valve UPR Catch can. The stock style connections and appearance sold me. I also got a Hypertech unit. My main reason for that is, I needed a CA legal "tuner" and I only had two options. I didn't get it for a tune, just to adjust my AFM, kick my limiter to 108 from 99, and I can adjust my tire size when I lift it. I can also reset to factory if i happen to need warranty work. This last weekend, at about 11,000, I also did a CRC Intake clean. No check engine light. Has anyone had issues with the CRC service?
I'm going back and forth between the Elite and a UPR. I like the stock syle connections of the UPR, but the mounting option (Spare battery box) of the Elite. I'm leaning toward a dual valve setup to catch as much as possible. Any thoughts on that? Sorry, should have replied to yours and 3tspapat in the same reply.

I just bought a 2017 GMC SLT with the 6.2L and 8 Spd. It had 8700 miles on it. It will idle a little rough at idle momentarily. I only run premium gas, is that normal for the 6.2L? I've installed a Magnaflow 12909 muffler w/o flapper valve and an AFM Momentum CAI. Also, since I've had it, it has a tick that is heard when your standing next to it, or in a drive thru with the window down. Is that normal? After reading on here I'm worried about the afm lifters causing it. I plan on getting a Hypertec programmer so I can change the afm to 70mph and adjust the shifting so it's less clunky. I also will be installing an Elite Engineering EX-2 catch can kit. Will these additions help with the common afm issues? To make it more reliable in the long run? Anyone with experience or knowledge please educate me on this, thank you
