  1. Spoke to them this morning. They are ordering new pillar panels. Let's hope they go in clean.
  2. It's like a 4yr old took their parents' keys and played sandbox all over the pillars, what the ?!?!?
  3. Like how does one make these marks? ??
  4. Picked up the truck last night after the window swap. They assured me everything was QA'd. It was dark and raining, so really only got to review the inside. They scratched the nuts out of both pillars. I told the advisor to order new plastic for each side and I'd come back for them to replace. He said he'd have to review with his manager in the morning and took pics. I don't understand how technicians have a complete lack of effort, nor attention to detail, and no cares about other people's property.
  5. Thanks for this. Is this reporter willing to also do an article for the water leak issue???
  6. The guy I spoke to tonight was all dismissive when I told him they must be slammed with all these windows. He said they've seen one or two, but what's 100 windows out of 1million and it's not that big a problem. Wait, what. ??
  7. They told me yesterday it would be ready this afternoon. Today came and gone and no update on the glass replacement. I called after work and only one guy was there and said he couldn't find the paperwork or the keys and to call back tomorrow. WTF?!?!?!
  8. At 58 days, they should owe you a new truck!
  9. Well, I took it in today and they said that water was leaking "through the glass". Assuming he meant the glass frame/assembly, whatever. He said they actually have a spare in stock and it will get replaced when "the glass guy comes tomorrow". He said that the technician that is their water leak expert will prep the truck today for the glass guy. So I'm guessing he will remove the seats, etc and the glass guy just does the swap. Then the tech will have to reassemble everything. The service manager said that it should be ready for pickup tomorrow afternoon or evening. Again, this was a November 2018 build that I bought in March 2019 that didn't start leaking until December 2019.
  10. I got the update yesterday as well. Was really wishing they included the rear window leak bug fix in this release. Maybe it'll be in the next update.
  11. Well, three weeks later after TSB caulk job and mine is leaking again. Not as bad, but a little water staining appearing after each rain. This time only on passenger side. I have towels behind the headrest and they don't appear to really get wet, but I clean the window and the water stain comes back after it rains. Not sure if I should have a new window put in if the defect is in the window assembly itself. What's to stop the replacement from doing this too. ????
  12. I am doubting body flex since this is just a daily driver at this point with my fat ass using this truck as a grocery getter and a few road trips. This truck hasn't been off pavement other than a campground gravel road. If that causes body flex, then going off road would crack the front windshield. Does anyone think Tim Herrick is on top of this issue?
  13. https://www.google.com/search?q=water+test+strips&rlz=1C1CHBF_enUS750US750&oq=water+tes&aqs=chrome.0.69i59j69i57j0l3j69i64j69i60l2.1647j0j7&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8 just google "water test strips" and there are some amazon and other links.
  14. I was thinking about getting some water testing strips to tape up under the upper track lips so I don't have to inspect immediately after each rain storm, car wash, or morning condensation just to see if there are new drips. These would change color and be easy to inspect especially if the couple drips dry up before they are noticed. Anyone else think about this?
  15. The real question is what % have leaked so far, how many will leak in 2020, how many will leak before warranty expires, and how many after the warranty. Can you imagine these sitting on lots as used vehicles in 3-5 years... I am surprised Consumer Reports, Edmunds, TFL, KBB, or any other publication hasn't reported on this, yet.
  16. True, but they won't buy back every truck that's had the window "caulked" in one trip.
  17. They won't buy it back because they can't buy back 200k trucks already sold, or whatever number is in the wild, all with this issue.
  18. Found this searching...looks likes the instructions for the first step. Maybe already posted, don't recall, and don't want to look through whole thread. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://static.oemdtc.com/TSB/MC-10156903-9999.pdf&ved=2ahUKEwiuwqvI5ejmAhVpvFkKHReLAgIQFjAGegQIChAB&usg=AOvVaw2tXvJTi7oDCXQd2_DbfCd4
  19. At this point they may as well just flex seal all the trucks. Since this isn't a safety issue, guess they'll never be forced to find a real solution and recall all these trucks.
  20. Would be great if someone could update that sheet with build month/year, purchase month/year, and leak noticed month/year, followed by all work done. My guess is that list would easily be double number of people if not more on that list, not to mention not everyone comes to this forum and many people probably have no idea this is happening, which means this is going to be a HUGE problem for GM.
  21. Well, another reason to hate FB, hah.
  22. I can see the group from the link, but once I log in, can't see it anymore to join. Weird. from link: logged in:
  23. What I like about this color is that it can look like green or blue or black depending on the light, but most of the time, it's a greenish-gray to me, but my wife thinks it's a blueish-gray to her.
  24. Been raining the last two days on and off and no re-leaks yet. But man, I'm checking almost every day. This isn't mentally healthy. Didn't start leaking until 12k miles. Nov '18 build, bought in March '19. No leaks until December '19. I would bet and agree with @econometrics that this issue affects all Silverados. There are only two types of Silverados, ones that have leaked and ones that will.
