  1. So I shared this issue in the comments of TFL's recent YouTube video today comparing their new 19 TB to a 6.2 RST asking if they were aware of this problem with a link to this thread and random some dude called me a troll for posting about this issue. ?
  2. oh yeah, just noticed those E9 windows posted are the Vitro model. The E4 I posted is the Fuayo. So....
  3. oh wow. Now I'm wondering if all the spare E4's they are installing are no good. Again, we need someone to get GM on record with what the hell is going on here. not much consumer confidence.
  4. Yours looks like a solid window and not a slider.
  5. This is a great picture @JohnCasey!!!!!!!!!!
  6. well, keep us all posted for sure!
  7. Do you have a picture of the model of the window they recently put in that leaked? E2 or E4? also be interested to know if the new window is leaking due to poor install or cracking in same spots.
  8. That's when I noticed it the first time and after the caulk job, it would only drip after morning dew, not rainstorms or washes. Haven't noticed any drips since the new E4 window last week or so.
  9. Don't do that. You'll kill your resell value.
  10. Went in today for them to replace the two pillar panels that got scratched to hell. Looks back to new. Also had them fix the middle seat belt anchor the first tech twisted up into a knot. They also did the second brake BCM reflash recall to fix the bad one applied in December. Truck almost feels whole again. But I'm having PTSD waiting to see if the replacement window will leak or not.
  11. Had the same problem in our Odyssey. Even though it took replacing the right axle seal and the seal between the engine and the tranny, they ended up replacing it due to fluid seaping through the aluminum casting, but that was after multiple trips over a couple years. I'd be happy they addressed yours so quickly.
  12. They all say this to ease your concerns. Then when it leaks again from the window, they will replace the window. If it was from the spoiler, the solid glass windows would also leak and they wouldn't be replacing so many windows.
  13. Appreciate the poll being created. Still need someone to get Detroit Free Press to do an article and get GM on record about this issue. 1. How many trucks are affected. 2. What is/was the route cause or are they still investigating. 3. Will they extend warranty for this part for 10yr/100k mi 4. What can they do gain customer confidence. If they squawk at these questions then either A. they don't know how to fix it yet or B. they are scared the info will upset stakeholders and scare off sales.
  14. If they can't figure out what the actual problem is, it will be an absolute $h!t show when these all run out of warranty. We'll then see what GM does about it, if they acknowledge the issue, and cover the windows up to 100k or until they are all replaced with fully solved design. Can you imagine being out of warranty and being told it's going to be ~$600 for a design flaw out of your own pocket. This isn't a wear item like tires or belts. I'm sceptical the E4 installed is the final fix or if it is a matter of time before it has the same issue. What would it take for GM to make a statement about this? Would it take an article in the press like the brake recalls?
  15. Story also up at https://www-caranddriver-com.cdn.ampproject.org/v/s/www.caranddriver.com/news/amp30753526/gm-recalling-silverado-sierra-for-second-time-for-brake-failure-issue/?amp_js_v=a2&amp_gsa=1&usqp=mq331AQCKAE%3D#referrer=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.com&amp_tf=From %1%24s&ampshare=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.caranddriver.com%2Fnews%2Fa30753526%2Fgm-recalling-silverado-sierra-for-second-time-for-brake-failure-issue%2F
  16. So service guy yesterday told me yesterday that one side's replacement panel was in Michigan but the side is on backorder. yay!
  17. This was my stock/original window from 2018: This is the new window put in this week: I'm not sure what all the numbers mean, but seeing quite a few number changes.
  18. The new window I got this week has that same part number.
  19. When mine was caulked in December, dropped it off in the morning and picked it up after lunch.
  20. Most people see the leak around the plastic upper track for the rear sliding window on both sides near the C pillars. see this thread:
  21. I called Saturday Jan 25th to make the appt for Monday Jan 27th and then dropped it off Monday Jan 27th. They replaced the window the next day Tues Jan 28th. They said they had a window in stock and ready to go. You'd think your dealer could call around and get the part(s) from another dealer that has them in stock.
  22. they will fix or replace again and buy me lunch. third time and my comp goes up.
  23. I removed my MX4 tonneau cover for the glass replacement, but not for the initial caulk job. Didn't want to risk the cover with the glass replacement.
