Been busy the last few weeks. Went to North Carolina to pick up this 1969 Lincoln Continental. The 3.0 Duramax pulled great. Then did a 15k service with a new fuel filter. Then headed to Michigan which was Sally’s first time in snow. 3” and 17 degrees on our first day there. No def fluid problems or even real traction problems on the street tires. Not that I was doing any true off-roading, but didn’t tear up my dad’s yard either. Rolled 16k miles while getting 25.5 MPGs on the way back. Still loving this truck!

Checked them 10 days ago while doing my 15k service and fuel filter before our winter break trip. They’re ok, for now. But I’ve got my eye on some UCA’s.

Here’s my 21 3.0 Duramax High Country, Sally. So far I’ve done: 2.5” front/1.5” rear Suspension Maxx level kit, Sumo Springs bump stops, S&B air intake, Chevy accessories hard tonneau cover, Sylvania LED reverse and tag light bulbs, 20% ceramic tint, and had the truck ceramic coated. Bought on July 3rd. Love her so far. Average 25 mpg on the highway at 10 over the posted limit and rides like a dream.

I just got a new truck and got this cover from the dealer. I love the way it looks and how functional it is but I’m also having leak issues. It’s almost like the cover is a few inches too short. The rubber lip by the cab barely covers the foam seal when the rear tailgate seal fits like it says in the manual. (Two fingers of the seal touching the tailgate.) I went back to the dealer to verify that I got the correct cover and they said it is correct. I adjusted it closer to the cab yesterday trying to at least stop the water from covering the inside of the whole bed. Haven’t had a chance to test it yet. But now it barely touches the tailgate. It will probably leak there now.

Just got this 2021 High Country with the 3.0 Duramax. Only have 400 miles on it but I’m loving it so far. I took advantage of this crazy used car market and traded in my 2014 LTZ with 84k on the 5.3. Already put the Rev hard tonneau cover on and got the windows tinted. (Tint was done late yesterday so no pics yet.) Excited to learn more about this platform.

Installed the factory LED taillights. I already had the Harness Dr. adapter harness because I got scammed on a set of these lights months ago. I found a set locally for $150 because the passenger side one had been hit. Hooked them up and ended up finding a right side one on eBay for $235. I’m loving how they look!

What did the problem end up being?

I’ve done quite a few things the past couple of weeks. I rebuilt a Lexus for my son so I’ve been driving it. While my truck sat, some birds built a nest behind the grill. And when I’d turn my headlights on, the turn signal in my driver’s outside mirror would come on dimly. Brought the truck into the shop to address those issues. Removed the bird nest and diagnosed the mirror light. I expected to find damage wires from the birds. Nope. Turns out the fan on my LED bulbs was going bad and backfeeding down the light circuit. Replaced the LED bulbs with the Sylvania LED bulbs with the 5 year warranty. Fixed my problem. Also, installed my 2.5 HMI and Radio module programmed by WAMS. Works great!! Also brought the truck in to do a service in preparation to go to Florida for spring break. While doing the service, found our my AC wasn’t working because my compressor was bad. Replaced my compressor, high pressure line, and all three drive belts as well as the service and replacing the rear brakes. Back to 100% now. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I have two dash cams. One facing forward, one facing me. I always have videos of people doing dumb stuff almost causing accidents. They are Yi brand cameras. I can watch them from my phone and download the videos right to my phone. My last dash cam already saved me from a road rage ticket. Ok. I appreciate the info. I asked about the steering wheel buttons because if I do the 2.5 HMI/Radio Module swap on my 2014 to get Apple CarPlay I was told that I have to get my cluster reprogrammed or add the Denali cluster with custom programming to keep my steering wheel buttons working. This looks cool. Can you give me more info on this? Are you using stock radio and screen? I’ve got a 2014 with Bose and navigation and am having a hard time wanting to spend the $700 plus the downtime of sending in my instrument cluster to have it programmed to have the steering wheel buttons work. I tried to buy them off one of the group pages for Silverado’s on Facebook. Got scammed because I sent it cash app. Sent it to the moderators of the page. Only one responded with “he’s not part of the group” [emoji1617]Well, no ******. He changed his profile name and pic and then blocked me. Reported him to Facebook and got some bullshit auto email telling me that they are going to look into it. Been about a month and still no response. Hopefully no one else gets scammed.
