Ok so check if any connections are not on right. The rest of the controls work but the screen itself doesn’t sense any touch. The eBay seller had a warranty should I try and get another screen?

I just install the upgrade from a 4 inch screen to Apple carplay 8 inch screen, first week or two it works amazing! After that the screen itself begins to go to a different page it self. Now this morning the screen itself does not work anymore. Not to sure if anyone knows about this problem. I bought the screen from a eBay part seller I believe it came from a total truck. It does have a 60 day warranty. I try to recalibrate the screen and nothing works.

So I bought parts for upgrade to a 2.0 4 inch screen with my link. However I do not have a back up camera I would like to ad one but I want it to make oem. Does anyone know how this can get done? Can this be done by programming?

Hey I currently have the 4 inch screen, and I believe the 2.0 module it does have my Chevy link. I want to upgrade to the 8 inch screen, and apple carplay, ( I don’t care really much navigation or xm radio ) wouldn’t apple car play have the MAPS option when you plug in your phone? But to the main question can I just get stuff like the 8 inch screen and module etc off eBay or a wrecked truck and send it the WAMS to program? And also If anyone can please list the parts I need for this big project please it will come in handy very much, thanks to you all hope y’all stay safe.

did anyone find a problem yet? just started happening to my truck wrap my key Fob in aluminum paper because truck wouldn’t stop unlocking and didn’t want my battery to die, truck stop unlocking...

where do you find synthetic blend 0w20 ac delco? i’m looking online for it and i only found it on amazon for 12.95 a quart. might as well go full for that price... in the owners manual they recommend ac delco synthetic so knowing me wanting everything to be perfect i would want to use that type of oil... i mainly drive close by expect school which is other side of town but work and everything else is close by another reason i would want to go synthetic.

From what i been reading from this site, is that the repairs can be costly.... if anything just the tranny and engine warranty shouldn’t be that much, although the stealership may try to give you a high price. but if they are replacing lifters you should be fine for a long time, luck to you my brother!

did you just buy the screen itself and didn’t do nothing to the current hmi module in the truck?

happen to my 14 silverado 5.3 as well but around 65k making an horrible knocking noise when on v4 mode, took to dealer said it was lifter collapsed, took the same amount of days for parts, under warranty and got a free loaner ( 19 high country literally made me want to get that truck lol..) but repair took about 4 days due to the fact they had to repair both sides of lifter they now telling me i should be good for another 100k. i had the same quotation “how is this happening so early in the truck?” they reply “ premature aging, somewhat a common problem on these trucks” like what??? the truck feels so much better now and the shift to v4 doesn’t feel that bad, going to do an oil change too just so i can have a better piece of mind knowing everything is fine there... i wouldn’t be that much worried... i’m guessing just one of the few that got unluckily with the bad lifters but i will be getting extended warranty and honestly if this problem happen right now who knows what can happen later on that’s why better to be safe than sorry!

did y’all have the same noise like some thumping sound? me and my wife call it the chevy helicopter, that sound is hideous

what after 10k?? that’s crazy i ask the service tech how it happens and he just told me lack of maintenance but i baby my truck... and thank for info going to tell them to replace those bank of lifters.. it’s a shame man had a 98 1500 during high school and man i beat that thing up and it still never gave me problems till around 170k. miss that thing

had this weird noise to was thinking suspension or tranny issues took to the dealer today and AFM lifters colllapsed, nice guy i talk to seem very helpful but wann know how many lifters come in all? want to see if a dealer can replace a couple more than just the two that went out... and any ways to prevent this down the road?

thanks! in your opinion do you think upgrading to a 2.5 is a hassle? if so feel like i’m better off with just the 2.0. One more think, if i get the 2.0 module do i just install it or does it need to be seen somewhere to be programmed? thanks again !

kinda figured since it’s not that much price difference? do you know what i do next after i get my hands on the module? can i just install it on my truck with the touch screen radio or do i send the module to get programmed?

hey guys, i’m on a journey and it might be a impossible one but my 2014 silverado lt has the 4 inch screen, however it does have chevymylink, so from what i’ve been reading is that i need a new touch screen of course, then a new hmi module, BUT the thing is what’s the difference between the 2.0 and 2.5??? apple carplay more features?? don’t really care for all that but if it’s 50 bucks more and it works why not right?? LAST thing after i have the hmi module do i just install it in or do i need to send it somewhere to get reprogram? thank for anyone that can answer my questions

hey guys have the 4.2 screen and trying to upgrade to a 8 inch screen... but not sure what’s the difference between the 2.0 and the 2.5 module??? don’t care that much for all the techy stuff (even though my brother has a cruze with apple carplay and makes me sad since i got the baby screen lol) but since the 2.5 module is 50 bucks more then why not get all the stuff too? so what’s the difference with the 2.0 and 2.5 hmu module thanks
