  1. This is what I came here looking for. Thank you for your thoughts. I believe I'll be passing on this truck.
  2. Thank you for the information! Being new to my diesel research, would this be an issue I'd want to avoid? It's been replaced twice and I worry it will continue to happen or impact/cause further issues down the road. That's obviously big enough to warrant a buyback but my (Iowa) dealer is saying the buyback laws in California are very relaxed compared to elsewhere, but I wonder if he's doing that to make me feel more comfortable.
  3. The Carfax shows it has a lemon/buyback disclaimer. Trying to do my research and the more I do I feel like it's better to avoid the situation altogether. It's a good discount they're offering but the furthest I can get them to go on extended warranty is out to 120,000 miles (Currently at 45k) of Platinum coverage.
  4. It definitely has a branded title. I've gone through the Carfax and that my main reason for coming here. I've never bought a buyback vehicle was so looking to see if this was a known issue, something GM could be trusted when they say it's been fixed, or best to stay away from. I realize a buyback would come some with risk, just trying to minimize that risk OR find out that I need to get out now. Also, have no experience with diesel and would rarely tow but it would also be a family hauler in addition to 2000 miles a month on the highway.
  5. I agree that 30 mpg would be ideal, but am prepared for less. Currently driving a Kia Stinger AWD GT1 so even 25 would be slightly better.
  6. I'm waiting to hear back from insurance, but will check with lenders as well. I'm sure I'll take a beating on the APR on a buyback...
  7. Thank you so much for taking the time to respond in detail. I wish I could find out more on what was wrong and an account of the fix, but GM won't/doesn't provide that. That highway mileage sounds pretty amazing!
  8. Would that be a reason to avoid this buyback? Or would their fix solve those issues?
  9. They state it's fixed. GM will not provide additional information. It comes with a 12 month/12k mile warranty, but I'd look to add an extended warranty as well. Just not sure if this issue is minor or major. The dealer states the Sierra was California vehicle and they have more relaxed laws on buying a vehicle back, compared to Iowa. The Carfax shows it was in California.
  10. Hi everyone, I have a somewhat local dealer with a 2023 Sierra Denali 1500 diesel that is for sale at a pretty big discount. I've owned many Silverados, but never had a diesel. The reason this Sierra is a buyback is stated as "Engine Coolant Flow Control Valve sticking." I can't get any more information from GM, but that it was fixed. It's 2023 with a original window sticker of $77k and the truck has 45k miles. I currently drive 2000 miles per month mainly on the Interstate so the reported 30 mpg was intriguing. I've never purchased a buy back so any help on that would be appreciated too. My plan would be to purchase an extended warranty if I could knock the price down further. I also don't want to be stuck with something that's needing work done all the time. Any concerns on reliability for this truck?
  11. No way. Are you serious? I was offered $6k less than that for a LTZ with 6.2. Take it and run!
  12. If you fill out the vehicle info without listing any additional options, you'll get a #. Then go back and edit the options and in a day or two you should get an accurate #. That's how it worked for me anyway...
  13. Just got my quote from Carvanna. I have a 19 LTZ with 6.2 and they came back at $46,004. It's the highest I've seen, but only a couple hundred dollars more than LT's with 5.3 are getting I bought mine 14 months ago for around $49k so I shouldn't complain.
  14. That's what I got as well. Over a week now and still no contact.
  15. I entered everything into Carvana just to see what the offer would be. I ended up getting a message that my vehicle had "beat their algorithm" and I'd be contacted by someone in 24 hours...which was about a week ago now.
  16. On Saturday I just bought a 2019 Silverado LTZ Crewcab with a sticker of $59.3k for $48.3k. Also got the dealer to throw in 6 free oil changes and bought the 84 month or 100k warranty for $1,300 (not included in the $48.3k). Here's the extra options I have on the truck: Chevytec spray-on bedliner, Black with Chevrolet logo Engine, 6.2L EcoTec3 V8 Max Trailering Package LTZ Convenience Package II LTZ Plus Package Tires, 275/60R20SL all-terrain, blackwall Wheels, 20" x 9" (50.8 cm x 22.9 cm) Polished finish LPO, Black Bowtie Emblem, front Trailer Camera Package LPO, Molded splash guards, Black
