  1. got the ss3 installed, I am limited with file space on here so you can see the results here https://www.tahoeyukonforum.com/threads/black-betty-2018-z71-silverado-build.114885/page-55
  2. Ya I tend to aim mine a "smidge" high but not much really depends on the light output pattern I don't purposely try to blind people
  3. got a package, hopefully i can get them on before another week of stormy weather hits again
  4. ya I might not need it, I had a hidden winch install done and I just had to order a different fairlead that will give it a cleaner look, I was thinking all black might look better, not sure yet
  5. does anyone have the 2016-1028 1500 z71 midnight edition? if so I need the last 8 of your vin so I can find the part number for the front valance that is all black I want to get rid of the chrome mustache. thanks
  6. They should arrive Friday if the weather holds up I will have them on that night I have the Hylux 50w ballast and some 35w HID's in the factory projectors now haven't really been satisfied with the oem fog's at all
  7. i put some lights under my yukon and I mounted them with thin metal strips and screws I bought at the hardware store, sort of like the kind you would wrap around a round pole, there was no way tape was going to keep them from falling off
  8. I used something similar for a underhood light connected to a hood pin. but you could wire those to the marker lights or interior lights easily by just running a single power wire to the bcm or junction box, the ground wire can be attached anywhere on the frame. setting them up as a blinker or brake light type thing wouldn't be much harder you just need to find the right wire to patch into.
  9. said f-it and bit the bullet for the SS3 max kit, should arrive right before xmas
  10. anybody tried these ss3 fog lights? seems to be a slightly cheaper alternative to the baja designs
  11. here is my take on it, if there is white smoke and lifter/valve tap, this "might" mean there is water getting in. has the coolant level dropped at all? even a very small leak will cause a problem, even if it is burning it off and not causing a milkshake. if so what is happening is the coolant is mixing with the oil in a particular cylinder/area and this makes the oil not as efficient in that area and you end up with "noise" in that area. again if this is the case you could pull the valve covers off and see where it is happening it will usually present it's self visibly. you can also look under-inside the oil filler cap (it has a cavity area when you flip it over) and see if there is any white or green snot looking material and/or look down in the filler hole with a flashlight and look for the same snot. some people say a little material there is normal but I have never found this to be the case with a good running engine. if it is not loosing any coolant at all then yes it could just be a noisy lifter and likely won't cause any immediate damage, my 03 made the same noise on & off for years and drover perfectly fine, I of course did not have warranty on it nor any engine work done. the bottom line is like mentioned above take it back and say hey this isn't right, be nice usually that gets you nice in return. even if you didn't have to pay out of pocket yourself they got paid and it should be addressed as long as it is still within the warranty period. a simple "it will be fine" is not acceptable in this case.
  12. I didn't really gather much from the 02 sensor video but I have seen a bad maf cause all kinds of codes including 02 and cat codes, lean codes, funky transmission shifting, misfire codes, you name it, maybe try monitoring the maf and see what values it is showing other than that i would monitor 02 bank1 sensor1 and bank2 sensor1 they should be reading approx the same same for bank1 sensor2 and bank2 sensor2, if one is suspect swap them left & right and see if the pattern follows
  13. I meant the shutters that are in front of the radiator, not the transmission shuddering, I have the transmission thermostat deleted and a tru-cool installed in front of the radiator, I haven't ran into any issues with the engine getting hot from the tru-cool on the Silverado but I have with the yukon which had the same setup but I moved the tru-cool down to the lower grill on the yukon and now it does not stay as cool as it did in front of the radiator, but it works... I may end get the mishimoto for both.
  14. thanks I am not worried about having to remove the shutters I am concerned about the space I currently use for the tru-cool between the shutters and the radiator and I was just wondering if you had to make any cuts or modify anything to make it fit.
  15. are these stock vs baja before and after shots? or?
  16. how was the fitment? any modifications needed? or was it a direct fit, I am mostly curious if it caused any interference with the shutters I also have a tru cool 40k mounted in front of my stock radiator I wonder if using this radiator would take up that space I use for the tru cool.
  17. Couple weeks ago at about 36,700 miles, I noticed a little piddle of liquid on my driveway since it's a fairly clean driveway I pick up on leaks right away (pet peeve) and sure as ****** it was the water pump, it was a pretty minor leak but I had been noticing some "noise" and had been thinking it was the vacuum pump since those are known to develop some noise issue's never considered the water pump, so I went ahead and ran a errand I had to do across town, after I got there I decided I better look under the hood before I head back home and dam that water pump was TRASHED pulley all wobbling like it was barely hanging on lol, limped it to the dealer and they replaced it under warranty, surprising water pumps usually make it at least 150k or so... received the AJT fob case but haven't assembled it yet I normally only use the factory fob during the winter because of the automatic heated seat function, my viper remote does not activate the heated seats but the ac function of course works with it.
  18. Thanks, after reviewing several I see these wear out quickly I opted to go with the ajt designs fob case https://www.ajtdesign-llc.com/online-store/Chevy-GMC-Truck-c42624008
  19. got a link to those fob covers?
  20. take a screen shot of the moment of impact and have a 10X12 print made and give it to them as a anniversary gift next year lol or hang it up somewhere obvious at home so every time they come over it's front and center lol that's how my family roll's lol I skidded out in the rain into my wife's aunt's car one time years ago, totally random leaving the post office she just happened to work around the corner didn't even know it was her car till she came outside oops oh **** lol
  21. you don't have to take the mirrors off, the puddle lights just clip off/on, you will want to dremel the back of the puddle light a bit so it will fit right, the plastic/epoxy on them just need a slight trimming.
  22. lol, ya I wish I could leave this place but it's warm enough usually and I make a living otherwise I would be in Florida (maybe), Oregon is not to bad but no work there
  23. here in Central California it's mid 60's low 70's the rest of ya'll freezing except Florida
