  1. do you notice any road noise with those tires?, I tried some toyo open country and they are noisy as in all I can hear on the highway is rumrumrumrumrumrurm ugh, I guess if road noise does not bother you most people just tune it out, I cannot.
  2. you can get a 12v dc to 5v usb adapter online and then all you have to do is run it straight up to the airbag light which is switched 12v power. no need to do all that extra work. normally you could also just tap into the mirror harness but on these trucks there is only 10v to the mirror so you just have to go up a smidge further.
  3. Haah, if I had that app my score would be zero and I would probably have a cancellation notice in my email
  4. mirror only has 10v feed so the mirror tap probably would not have worked well, 10v made my valentine go skitzo so I tapped into the airbag light which has 12v feed.
  5. I had 6 headlights on while traveling up in Washington state, I got stopped and given a warning at 4:30 am by a state trooper, lots of elk run up in the area I was in people hit them and get messed up bad they are much larger than typical deer, he was cool about it and just said those are way too bright and I can only use 4
  6. you can add marker lights galore here in California as long as they are the right color, you can also have 4 headlights. you can't add red or blue lights in the front but you can on the rear.
  7. no he's talking about the 3 amber lights in the grill, those are usually required on wider vehicles but some people like them for appearance as well.
  8. i'm lovin these ss3 max, the beam is so wide I can see what's on the sides even 50-60 feet away, maybe farther, I put a set on my Yukon as well and I must have them aimed right because I am not getting flashed, not even once
  9. got the rough country D-ring adapters installed yesterday, took a lot more work than I expected because of the winch had to take off the grill and bumper and unbolt the winch and lift it up to get the bolts in & out, also removed the lower valance trim piece
  10. I was going to try and get these on today but then realized the winch is in the way I can probably get the driver side on & off but the passenger side I will have to drop the winch I think, once I get the valance off tomorrow I'll have a better view, the winch power wires are in the way for sure
  11. Finally showed up, not sure what the difference would be between silverado & sierra mounting wise I will try and get it on tomorrow, instructions say the drivers side bolt head may need to be cut off to remove the oem tow ring so they supply new 1 bolt makes no sense, if a bolt head has to be cut off to remove it how does a whole new bolt go back in then?
  12. had one almost go over like that here not long ago he broke the guard rail but no wheels off jackknifed across the whole overpass
  13. I would but there office is practically a 45 minute to an hour drive for me and I have to be somewhere else in another part of town so hopefully it will make it here tomorrow, it's stupid if someone sends a package fedex super cheap rate it gets to there warehouse and sits there for 5 days before it gets transferred to the post office to take to another town and back again. I do a lot of shipping and fedex is almost as bad as the post office except the post office usually gets stuff delivered on time, fedex will promise a date and then fumble it 8 times out of 10
  14. these a-holes still can't get it delivered
  15. sure enough I get a text at 5:30 am that it's out for delivery today, w'ell see, my first guess is since it was metal parts the box tore and it's going to be missing pieces...or something
  16. haven't got them yet, they were scheduled to be delivered Sunday then fedex dropped the ball and they are sitting in a fedex warehouse 20 minutes from here, I called and bitched today so maybe they will show up tomorrow. when they get here I will try and get some basic measurements from the frame bolt hole or something if that helps. the frame mounts should be the same so maybe it's a matter of how far they stick out.
  17. I am trying to find out if a 4.3l 8.6" rear axle can be swapped onto 5.3l with the 9.5" or if there is any reason a swap could not be done or if any modifications will needed or if it is a simple swap? do i need the axle also? any change in the u-joints or pinion connection? brakes? reason being I have the 9.5" 12 bolt 3.08 and there are no lockers available other than the stock gov-bomb with the 8.6" 10 bolt 3.42 I can go with the tru-trac or maybe even a arb thanks for any experience or guidance ahead of time.
  18. bought a kit to install regular D-ring shackles in place of the inset tow rings, this brings them forward enough to actually use if you need to. I can't get a regular shackle around the oem tow rings not enough room a synthetic one works but just figured why not?
  19. got the hidden winch all buttoned up, it's not perfect but works
  20. what about wind with the windows down? any difference? any noise while driving? my only reason for getting any would be to reduce the wind tornado with the windows down
  21. any difference in the wind coming in with the window down or noise with it up.
  22. Any problems with the windows opening/shutting and do you notice any difference with the wind with the windows open? these trucks are terrible wind wise mine is like a tornado inside with the windows open
