  1. A sway bar helps with cornering and helps keep the vehicle from rolling as much. It does nothing to help when you're taking a corner while running over bumps. All trucks suck at keeping the rear end under control when going over bumps and taking a turn.
  2. No. It's the shocks.
  3. There is a thread in the mod section about the bilstein 5100s. Go read it. I just swapped my rear shocks last week and it made a very noticeable difference. In a very good way. If you want a much better ride, get front and rear bilstein 5100s. Im happy with just the rear being done. I swapped my rear shocks in about 15 minutes, no jacks required. Just 21 mm socket and wrench. The fronts are a bit more time consuming.
  4. I actually found it to happen more below 50 degree's outside, whether or not the engine/trans was cold or warm. Above that, it would always engage and disengage properly whether the engine/trans was cold or warm.. I had to let it sit overnight before it would free up a majority of the time.
  5. I had a 2013 Tundra 4x4 until I traded it in for my 19 Silverado Z71 LT. Only issues I ever encountered with the Tundra was the 4x4 not engaging properly and it flashing on the dash. Then having to wait for it "unlock" or try some other method to undo the 4x4. Silverado had the same issue years ago. No other issues with my Tundra. It's bulletproof compared to these newer Silverado's.
  6. Thing is that my 2013 Tundra never did it. It's just a weird sound. I'll just have to take a video of it. I'm just wondering if anyone else is hearing the same thing around 15-20 mph while towing anything over 5k lbs. Yes, 2wd.
  7. I just installed these on the rear and yes, there is a huge difference. The rear is a lot more planted and there is no bouncing from front to rear. I'll see how it handles the open road and other bridge crossings tomorrow. Right now, I'm very pleased. Going over a set of rough railroad tracks I could instantly tell the difference after install. Only took me about 15 minutes to remove and replace them.
  8. The infotainment screen is supposed to come on after you press the break and start button. Mine works everytime. Maybe there is a setting that is causing this? Have you pressed the power button for the infotainment screen after it doesn't turn on?
  9. To me. It sounds like the noise is coming from the front. Reasoning is that when I get off the throttle while doing 20 mph, the noise goes away. When I get back onto the throttle, partial throttle. The noise slowly builds back up. The weight distribution is fine. There's not much room to get the center of gravity correct but I found it. There is a lot of sag but these Rancho shocks are..... garbage
  10. So yesterday was the first day I towed with my truck, a 2019 LT Z71 5.3 8 spd with 8500 miles. Trailer is a 14 ft big tex 60 EC with my 2018 Camaro ZL1. So over estimating, pulling 6k plus about 300 lbs payload in the truck and bed. The noise I heard was between 15 and 20 mph while on the throttle. When I let out, the sound goes away but getting back on the throttle, the sound slowly builds up. It sounds like a whine. Something you'd hear from a worn bearing. About the only way to describe it. Anyone have any experience in this sound? My 2013 Tundra never made this noise when towing. I've searched but could only find things saying it could be a belt, which I know what a squealing belt sounds like and diesel owners talking about this but it was their turbo and people talking about u joints and suspension making this noise. Which I know it isn't.
  11. Wouldn't you be able to lift up the truck then spin the wheels? That would make it do the exact same as if it were rolling down the road. But with no wind noise BS a dealer would come up with.
  12. So it seems that it may be better for us that have the shudder problem to have the fluid completely flushed and the new, updated fluid, put in then drive for 400 or so miles and see if it goes away. But like the author said, that might not be the fix for everyone. Thanks for sharing.
