  1. I've always wondered why there isn't a handle like all other trucks have. But sadly, no. There isn't a easy manual release without putting the tailgate down and pulling off the back off the tailgate to get to the inner workings to manually release it.
  2. Get your money back and go find something else.
  3. Try this # 18002221020 It anything, they can direct you to the correct department.
  4. Yes, mine does this and so does my ZL1 plus the rental's I drive from time to time for work. Something that newer vehicles have been doing. It'll be hot or cold or whatever the outside temp is.
  5. FYI, you can go to Autozone or Advanved Auto and they will scan and clear your codes for free.
  6. Did you have to jump start it? Only asking since you mentioned a dead battery then no volume and CarPlay. You have any mods? I read some people say the dealer found that the heated seat was causing a very slight parasitic draw but only found that out after the dealer kept the vehicle over the weekend and hooked up hardware to monitor the electrical system.
  7. Yes, we understand what you're saying. It would be better to try and recreate the scenario again but see if it happens with tow/haul mode and without. As I stated, if the vehicle has tow/haul mode then why not use it? To get better MPGs? Then you shouldn't be towing anything. MPG's is the last thing on my mind when I tow. The dealer isn't going to be much help if you cannot prove to them that the vehicle is doing something strange. If they can't find any strange codes and with GM saying "this is how our transmission's work", you're probably better off going to something else. You can find lots of topics about the 8 speed issue on here but 99% will be those not towing anything. I have no issues towing my ZL1 and you didn't have any issues until this 1 time and it could only be a 1 time thing. Only thing that I would really recommend, would be for you to get the fluid flushed and filled back up then try this scenario again. I've heard Amsoil has worked well in the transmission.
  8. I noticed you don't have the truck in tow mode. I suggest using it at all times when towing, they have that feature for a reason. I towed my ZL1 to and from racing events and the rpms hold steady. If you have that tow mode feature, I suggest using it when towing. I use it a often when driving without a trailer on the intestate since it'll make the blinker blink 6 times when you slightly press the turn signal.
  9. Starting at 9 seconds. This is almost what I saw on a commercial. Same scene but missing the work place being powered on.
  10. Why would Chevy advertise it being able to work with certain power tools or power up a whole house when it can't? I just saw a commercial showing the Silverado being able to. Total crap.
  11. Look at getting some bilstein 5100s. I put some on the rear (easy 10 minute job you can do in the driveway) and it was a night and day difference! There is a very long thread and the bilstein 5100s in the modv section. Give it a look. The cheap ass Rancho shocks suck and I don't know why Chevy uses such a total crap on and off road suspension component.
  12. Well if it wasn't happening before you hardwired something in. Then whatever you did caused the issue.
  13. I was very disappointed in this outlet too. Just another gimmick to get people to look at the truck. I've had multiple instances that I could have really used the outlet but it wouldn't power on the device I was trying to use for more than 1 second. FWIW, if anyone wants something that CAN power household appliances and charge electric vehicles. Go get an F150 with the 7500W inverter in the back. It's a $750 option. Can't beat that. I wish Chevy did something like this and maybe they will in the near future.
  14. I'm certain this has been talked about on here in different threads over the years. My 2019 Silverado does the same thing. It's not concern to me ask my dealer offers a lifetime drivetrain warranty (only stipulation is to bring it to them for every oil change and every scheduled service). Either way, I believe the main resolution was to take it to the dealer and have them flush the entire trans with the "new" fluid that they are to be using. If I were you, I'd video tape the truck doing this and show it to them if they don't believe you.
  15. From what I recall, the voltage changing is normal. GM designed it to change based on the voltage needs. I think it's been around for a decade or more now.
  16. My Camaro has the exact same issue between 12 and 1 pm. The chrome on the dash around the gauges will blind you. I agree that I don't know why they put these crap chrome pieces inside or outside of vehicles. Chrome should be an extra add on and the default state of a vehicle should be color matched on the outside and brushed chrome or whatever that won't reflect the sun right into your eyes. Best thing to do is get a vinyl wrap and it'll solve the issue.
  17. FYI. If you were polarized sunglasses, you won't be able to see the HUD. My ZL1 has a HUD and I barely use it, never use it on the street because I wear polarized glasses and never use it at night.. I've used it at the road course a couple of times but never really paid attention to it. Calling the dealer or going by and giving them the parts numbers and ask them if they are the same as a 2021 would be the best thing to do.
  18. I'll bite. I will go off and say I haven't had any real issues with my 2019 LT Z71 5.3 8 speed Silverado and have over 17k miles with on and off towing. Only concerns have been the usual 8 speed shutter (but keep it in sport or tow and it's ok) and the DIC will sometimes freeze the volume level over the other screens. Easily replicated and even easier to get rid of when it happens. Other than that, it's been a good truck and better than my 2013 Tundra was in certain way. Mainly MPG. BUT, if I were to have gone through it differently rather than saying I WILL get a Silverado and done my research. I would have gone with a RAM. They seem to have far less issues and their interior is much better than the Silverado. If you want to really see how reliable a vehicle is. Go to any forum and see if they have a help me or troubleshooting or issues section on the forum. If you look on here, you'll see what issues this truck has and what to stay away from.
  19. Look at any non Trail boss and you'll see the air dam. It's under the front bumper.
  20. If you are referring to over the air updates like system updates (not updates to the app's) then the vehicle will still get the over the air updates regardless if you have a data plan or connected to Wifi. I'm pretty sure the company cannot, legally, make you connect to Wifi or be on their data plan for a system update. My 2019 Silverado just did a system update yesterday and it never been connected to any Wifi source nor do I have a current data plan with Chevrolet.
  21. There's a long thread on the forum talking about Bilsteins. Give it a look and see what others used or have to say. I think the title is Bilsteins 5100 or something like that.
  22. That shocks in these trucks (all trims) have terrible rebound on both the front and rear. Changing over to Bilstein or Fox, etc will help. Sucks to spend money to fix this but that's the way it is with GM using crap shocks. One thing you will notice too is how "bouncy" the truck is when you go over a decent bump at 70 on the interstate or 55 on the highway. When you go over a bridge where it connects to the actual road is a good example.
  23. Its known how bad the bounce is in these trucks. The shocks are garbage in non Z71 or Z71/Trail Boss setup's. The rebound on both front and rear suck. There is a very lengthy thread, somewhere on here, talking about the Bilstein shock's helping with the truck feeling a lot better after putting them on. The install of the shocks is very straight forward. Shouldn't take more than 15 or 20 minutes to do in your driveway. Just do 1 side at a time and no need to lift the truck up at all. Just slide under then remove and replace 1 at a time. I did the swap on the rears months ago and am very pleased with it. Off road and on road driving is much better. The rear end feels more planted but the front does still bounce in certain places on the highway. But overall I'm glad I did the swap. Debating about doing the fronts now.
  24. I read about Audi's headlight years ago and thought that was cool but I see it hasn't hit the market yet and why. I will never purchase the auto dim/brightening feature. This Audi one......I would only if it truly works all the time.
  25. I have no problems in my Camaro (and I sit lower than your beater I'm sure) when passing newer vehicles. The only real issue I have are the older vehicles that people put in "better" lights but I cannot tell if those are the low or high beams. Especially whichever lights people put in that are a very light blue color. Those are just bright even to make you think it's high beams but it's actually low beams. In my truck or the Camaro I have issues with certain sedans (mainly Mercedes ones) where its like they have high beams on but they don't. As I mentioned when I was in front of a newer Silverado (in my Silverado) and at certain angles (since the road curved left and right at times) the trucks low beams looked like high beams. I will continue to flash people because when they leave their high beams on, I'll gladly leave my high beams on. Because after 2 adjustments, myself, people still flash me. Even when you flash someone with your low beams and those people think it's blinding, when the high beams come on, they are even more blinded by the light. Yes, vehicles need extra rule(s) to make sure lights aren't blinding people and also have an manual (by each light) and electronical (in the cab) adjustment knob so you can adjust it either in your driveway or while driving down the road. Just like my 2013 Tundra had from the factory.
