Agree 100% but for some reason this Salsa boy thinks its called a locker and locker only. Call it any other thing and for some reason you dont know ******. Most guys just refer to them as a posi unit and those with experience know what one is referring to. 33 yrs with GM and many axle repairs done front and rear. I thought he was done harassing me however this morning I was pulling a cylinder head and he PM ed me talking more crap asking if I asked the other techs in the shop what its called. Funny thing about that was I showed the other techs his comments and some called him a idiot and others called him a typical internet customer. He has yet to give his real name which is typical on trolls like that. I am attaching a screenshot from the GM service manual which describes what you said about the limited slip feature. Its dick heads like him why experienced gm techs dont like to help people out on these forums. I showed him he was #1 with his name written on my glove when I got the cylinder head off. Less than 2 hours after that I sent him another pic with his name again and the job was competed. Told him I would be happy to send him some pics next time I had a differential apart. He declined the pics for that because he has seen illustrations on the internet.

Maybe you should contact gm engineers because thats directly from the gm rpo guide champ.

Usually on the front diff the side bearing adjuster tabs break and that causes the side bearing preload to loosen up which in turn causes the noise.

Front diff is open

G80 = Axle Positraction, Limited Slip. GU_ = axle ratio in the diff

G80 is the rpo for a posi unit

Saw a pi today on this issue from gm. Says they are aware the u150 update may not fix all of the radios and they are working with xm to get a resolution. No repair available at this time

There is also a radio update for a battery draw issue.

I had a 2021 come in the shop with the same concern. The spare tire shield was slightly bent and contacting the exhaust pipe intermittently. Crawl under and look just above the rear axle in that area. Pry bar fixed it.

Selling dealer cant do anything for you unless your truck is in their shop. All that's going to happen is parts will put a spac case on your part and hopefully someone will release one if its available. Parts have been a pain due to the covid BS excuse. You could remove the fuse for the seat control module if you decide to not get a loaner until the part comes in. Trust me they are not going to swap you vehicles because of this issue. The only way that gets done is through the lemon law and that takes time and a big headache. Trust me, i have first hand experience in that situation.
