  1. I didn’t modify anything. Bought the truck like this, but It’s my fault for not catching it. I’m trying to diagnose, and I think this is the main culprit. Clutch fan seems to operate normally and doesn’t overheat while in cooler temps or driving down the road, so don’t think it’s the thermostat. Making sure others agree with me before I try to modify the shroud. Is it worth going with efans if this doesn’t work?
  2. I’ve got an 04 z71 that overheats while idling in the hot Texas summer. Has suspension and 3” body lift, which has separated the radiator 3” from fan shroud (thinking this could be causing airflow issue?). Does not get over 195-205 when going down the road, towing, etc. I’ve seen old threads on this, but most folks seem to just throw parts at them (fan clutch, thermostat, water pump, efans). Yet I can’t find where anyone has found a reliable fix. Almost like they just live with it. Is this a GM engineering flaw, like the 2-3 gear clunk I also have?
  3. I’ve got the same problem on 2004 z71. In Texas with hot summer temps. Has suspension and 3” body lift that has raised the radiator about 3 inches above the top of fan shroud. Has anyone figured out a solution beside throwing parts at it? Seems like everyone saying water pump, thermo, and clutch are still having issues. Is this just a GM engineering flaw, like the 2-3 gear clunk I’ve also got?
