As luck would have it my 2004 2500 HD has run its course the rear diff has began to seep from the housing the body is trashed rusted through beyond repair and the frame is not far behind but the engine is still running great with only 140k miles. so today i began my search for a different truck and i happened to come across a 2015 Silverado 1500 with out a motor i did not even think about the transmission i instantly started considering a swap. So my questions are as follows: 1. what is all needed to throw my 6.0 lq4 in front of the newer 6l80e if it is any good yet? 2. if the trans is shot on the 2015 what is all needed for me to throw my engine and trans into it? 3.do i need to use my transfer case? 4.what about the rear end if i have to use my transmission and transfer case? i know the ECM needs to be changed if i use the 6l80e along with the cam sensor but i'm sure there's a lot more to it that i cannot find so i am asking for every persons input and help. please all information will be helpful and useful even if it doesn't seem like much to you it will be valued by me.
