Hopefully someone else has had this issue, as dealerships have not been able to fix this safety issue.
After a snowfall, once the truck reaches speeds that the causes the snow from the hood to start blowing off, the blower motor in the truck sounds like a door shutting, and next to no air comes out of defrost or vents. I have tried switching from defrost to dash/floor/etc, and the same restriction applies. I was able to (once) get the air to go full blast again by switching to recirculating, but as soon as I placed it back on defrost, back to hearing the loud restriction noise and almost NO air coming from any vents.
I've had the truck in 3 times now, and still isn’t fixed. Granted, it is very hard to replicate as it seems to only happen when snow gets blown passed the fresh air vent for the blower motor. Almost like the snow is being sucked in and freezing something to where it doesn’t keep the flap open anymore.
I demanded they log it as a safety concern as I was stranded in a blizzard with my entire family in the truck because I couldn’t defrost the windows! $60k truck that is unusable in the northern states in the winter...good stuff.
