Look up above the kick panel on the right side of the passenger seat floor area.

Used the frame of the original door speakers to construct adapters to mount the 6 1/2” circular speakers. This way the original electrical connector can be retained, and everything fits precisely in place and couples perfectly to the door panel. No cutting or hacking.

I am using Alpine Type R 6 1/2” component speakers in the front. Here’s how I did the dash speakers… Used the original speakers as a template and built adapters out of plexiglass.

I will be using your write-up when I finally get around to doing my 2021 GMC Sierra SLE with the IOS stereo (black and grey connectors on stereo control module) I’m having trouble locating the Axxess harness up here in Canada. I found one on eBay.. and sent a request for a quote for shipping.. no reply Maybe I’ll stop by an actual stereo shop and ask if they have access to the Metra line of products and see if they can order the harness for me. I have already replaced the speakers in the pickup, and it’s made the audio tolerable now, but the new speakers are designed to be used with an amp, and are nowhere near as efficient as the originals. I plan to use the AudioControl D.6-1200 with built in DSP to tune and amplify the audio when I get the harness taken care of. I have zero intention to cut any of the stock factory wires, so I’m willing to wait until I find the correct parts.

Very nice. I’m considering having my new 2021 done when it shows up. Just worried about the difficulty in repairing scratches, I heard the whole panel needs to be cut waxed to take off the ceramic coating and that it usually takes some of the clear coat before they can re-coat with ceramic? I’m new to ceramic coatings...

Hi Reaper.. I was reading your well described write up, and looked at the speakers you used. I notice there are two versions of this speaker. The 6903C is listed as being for Chrysler products, and the 6902C is listed for GM products. I just wanted to make sure I order the correct speakers.. did you actually use the Chrysler version in the GM pickup?
