  1. So far I’ve compounded the fender and the door. Pulled the “1500” emblem off for now since the old ones are cracked. These are lying around everywhere at work. Perks of being the parts manager at a Chevy dealer. We have so much old crap I can buy for cheap.
  2. It’s super easy and the deep black is coming out! Polish then wax and the truck will look good!
  3. So the pictures make the truck look better than what it is. Here’s some pictures of the doors I’m working on. Running compound by Meguires does a good job and I prefer to hand compound.
  4. Here the final pic of the fender flairs installed.
  5. Picked up some new fender flares. I really don’t care to have fender flares at all. But there’s rust under the bed fenders. I’ll deal with that another time. Here’s a sneak peak of the old vs new fender. The new ones are OEM.... old...
  6. Thanks! I'm only 34, but that hood kicked my butt! I've got a ton more in store!!!! I love to "tinker" with my vehicles, so this will be fun!
  7. Day 5 with the truck, here’s a picture before I call it a day.
  8. And after a couple hours in the hood, I got it somewhat shiny!
  9. First I started by pulling off the grill, tail light cages, and old side steps. Then I ripped off the side moldings, and used a rubber wheel on a drill to get the sticky tape off. Also took off the to bed cover and tossed that.
  10. Well, just picked up a 1999 1500 4x4 Silverado with the 5.3 V8. I bought it from the original owner. Has 141k on the clock, pretty well taken care of, just needs some cleaning. Picked it up for 3k. Here we go!
