  1. So if you had endless funds and bought a new Silverado 1500 with the 6.2 and had a shop remove the DOD lifters with the locking pins and replace them with normal lifters and a cam without the special oiler lobe, would the engine perform normally and last like they used to?
  2. Thinking about buying one but cautious and trying to do the homework.
  3. 25 more success replies and I might trust driving it out of town again.
  4. Has anyone that had the PIP5823B ECM fix ever had the long crank no start again?
  5. A lot of us 3.0 Duramax diesel owners between 2020 and 2022 have issues occasionally where the starter will turn over for 8-10 secs but won't start. Sometimes it happens once a week or could be several months between issues. Sometimes it starts on 2nd or 3rd try or sometimes could be an hour. Some have had to have it towed. Just wondering if this issue has ever happened to any of you gas truck owners? The video shows a check eng light, but 90% of the time it doesn't and never throws a code. IMG_1669.MOV

  7. Bugs me GM didn't send out any communication about the fix. Or....what fix? Long crank and no start issues? Whaaaat?
  8. I've been pressing the start button without foot on the brake and waiting 5 secs and then starting the truck. I haven't had a long crank no start since Aug. I'll try to get the ECM flash, but I could live with this method.
  9. Made appt by phone at dealership to get 1st oil/filter change and discussed the long crank/no start issue and gave her PIP5823b. Arrived at dealer and reminded her of the long crank/no start issue with a great audible description. They called 4 hrs later stating truck was ready. She indicated that the tech said PIP5823b did not apply and he could not recreate the problem. Got in truck and read the ticket. "Customer states vehicle intermittently shuts off. Technician found no trouble." Bouncing somewhere between laugh and cry.
  10. Painful when I think about all the work I put into it that I'd have to repeat and probably never get the money out of it. Roll-N-Lock Line-X Luverne running boards Tint Wheel well liners Advanced wheel locks Smartliner mats Anybody close to end of factory warranty and get any kind of extension or agreement for this problem?
  11. Back from my 12 day trip and 2400 total miles. I used the delay start by pushing the button without foot on the brake and waiting a few seconds before starting. No long cranks/no starts on the trip. We'll see going forward. It would be fitting that a cheap a$$ chip from China is the problem. First thing I do when ordering something online is check where it was manufactured. If from Coronaville, he11 no.
  12. I did that and although chk eng lite was on, it did not throw a code.
  13. Watched football for about 30 mins and went out to try it again. Started right up on try #6. Gremlin.
