I had a feeling that was the situation. It’s just weird. The guy I bought it from had a old body style and he said that his transmission went out and he bought it to put in his truck and his mechanic said it wouldn’t work in his truck but maybe that was a load. With the transmission already being removed would I be better off sending it to get rebuilt?

Hi, so I'm at the halfway point in swapping my transmission with one I bought off market place. Well I don't know if I was scammed or something, but I'm pretty sure this transmission wont work. First off the bell housing on the "new" one doesnt have the top center bolt hole. Second the input shaft for the torque converter is almost smaller it seems. When I picked up this transmission they also gave the torque converter and the place where it goes onto the transmission it about 2" shallow compared to the one that was on the truck. And last, the body of the "new" transmission seems to be smaller. I measured from the front to back and they measured the same. It also has the same plugins and all that but I just don't want to go through all the trouble of putting it in to take it out. I've also been told to swap bell housings, which I would do but I still see some other red flags. Thanks
