  1. My Ford order production date just got pushed back another week. Second time that's happened. Still no movement on my Chevys. Strike will probably make it so that it's months and months before they even get the parts together to build these things. I'm about to just get a smaller trailer for my half-ton and call it a day.
  2. I'm sure that's what it is but I don't know of a way to identify which dealers will get what kinds of allocations. Doesn't help that I've never worked with a GM (or Ford) dealership before so no rapport.
  3. 75 Super Dutys?? All XL's with the 6.8 that no one wants I'm guessing.
  4. See, your Ford order was in the middle of MY 23 production, whereas your GMC order was right at the start of their MY 24 production. I got my MY 24 Ford order in only a week or so after the order banks opened and I have a build week (10/16). It really seems to make a pretty big difference if you get in right when the order banks open, or within a month or two after. Once you get past that point and the line has bunched up and starts swinging around the block it goes all random instead of maintaining a more chronological sequence like it seems to early on. Again, not entirely consistent there but does seem to be a big factor. Most of the people I'm seeing here and on other forums that have gotten their GM HD's ordered them between February and May, and most of the people stalling out are orders from June or later.
  5. Yeah, it's practically a crap shoot at this point no matter what. It's my understanding that the 2023's started production early cause they wanted to make sure they got ahead of GM's redesign so they pushed a lot of people that had 22's ahead, but then couldn't keep up with the total volume. Hoping I got in early enough for the 24's and that my scheduled production week holds. But again, I'd really prefer a Chevy and I'm not in a huge rush exactly…I just don't think the supply situation or these prices are gonna right themselves any time soon so I'm going for this now while I'm sure I can still afford it and the manufacturers haven't collapsed in on themselves. Again.
  6. Yeah, part of the issue is that these vehicles have gotten exponentially more complicated over the last 5 or 6 years. Trucks as recent as 2017 didn't have as much stuff jammed into them as they do now. And the features keep trickling down to lower trims to the point that only the "work trucks" don't have 500 chips in them (only 300 lol). So instead of just one or two trim levels being tech'd out and requiring a large amount of extra components, ALL the trims need extra components now.
  7. Agreed, at least in this market. I got almost $9k off my Ram 1500 just two years ago but I knew I wasn't gonna see that, especially not on an HD truck. The first offer from the first dealer I spoke with was $3k off and I was even fine with that. Gave me a "bottom line" on a basic spec sheet so I told him to go ahead and put the order through. But then when he gave me the actual build sheet based off the order, there was a $1,500 "Dealer Advertising Adjustment" fee, essentially cutting my discount in half. "Oh, everyone gets charged that." Yeah right. That's what made me start placing other orders.
  8. Thanks for the info. I had a really bad experience buying a vehicle out of state one time and have been wary of trying that again. That's also super far for me (I'm in central PA). My best offer came in around there (like $6k off). Couldn't get Ford as low but the equivalent Lariat build to my LTZ was a bit cheaper to begin with. I'm mostly satisfied with the offers, just not with the lack of clear/honest info, and with how long it's taking for anything at all to happen with any of my (GM) orders. And now the strike so…
  9. What dealer did you order from? And, if you don't mind my asking, did you pay MSRP or get a deal?
  10. Most dealers treat most customers like that, so I don't know that it's necessarily because you're a girl. That being said, I've personally witnessed that kind of treatment directed towards my wife. She went into a hardware store looking for a specific model chainsaw (she did the talking, I was just there with her) and the guy starts talking to me. My wife knows more than me about power tools and lawn equipment as much as I know more than her about firearms (a lot).
  11. Dealer shaded me first. Said I'd get "X" amount of discount and then tried to add a "Dealership Marketing Adjustment", and his explanation for it was a lot of bullshit. So I placed a second order. That dealer has never given me a buildsheet with a bottom line price even though I've asked for it over and over. Keeps telling me the MSRP can change at any time so he can't give me a bottom line until the truck is built/has a window sticker. He actually ordered the build I sent him without my confirming it, said it would sell even if I didn't want it. So I placed a third order and that dealership gave me the best deal so far AND a buildsheet with a bottom line. So, nah, I didn't shade the dealers, I just wasn't getting straight answers. Whereas the first Ford dealership I called gave me an order sheet with a bottom line including discount literally the day I sent them the build. Then Ford sent me an email to track my order and gave me a production week inside of a month. So, I didn't place any other orders with Ford. I didn't need to. And another thing, I absolutely did get a step by step order process from the dealer I ordered my '22 Ram from back in August of 21 at the height of the chip shortage. Could see everything that was happening with the truck from order to arrival at the dealership (which took about 10 weeks). Would have gone straight back to them but just in the last two years Ram has gone insane with their pricing.
  12. Yeah, I was hoping I'd sneak in before the ripple effects of the strike hit. Looks like I'm probably screwed/going with Ford (same thing? Lol)
  13. So, only about a month before going into production? I must have just ordered from the wrong dealers(s) lol I ordered only about 6 weeks after you did too. ,
  14. How long was it before GM accepted your order? Because I selected the high country 20 inch wheels for my LTZ build and I've been hearing those are back-ordered and might be holding me up, but the dealer insists that's not the issue.
  15. This is why I'm not worried about ordering multiple trucks. Someone will want the ones I don't take, guaranteed.
